Thanks, I'll tell my wife. It was her idea and a pretty dang good one at that

thats a very nice looking garge. i love how everything was done as inexpensive as possible. i also admire you & your wife for doing the work yourselves!
can we please see some inside shots?
i like the funky look of the 1 different size garage door. =)
yea jack olson i think is going to like your build.
hes going to try to talk you into some floor tiles & sell you on some heavy duty metal cabinets lol nice garage! remember the jack olson trick if you decide to lay down tile...use a dark colored grout between the tiles so it will never actually look dirty. =)
I dug a 20'x2'x3' trench for a French drain last year. Solid clay. Never again.
Nice. Hard work rewarded.

When I lived in Seattle (Northgate area), I would get up on the 3-tab roof with an electric leaf blower for removing the moss and Douglas fir needles. It worked pretty good even though it felt like I was trying to herd cats. I'm on the coast now and have to deal with Long-leaf pine needles in the gutters (~150 l.f.). Pain in the ****!
I figured with your background, you might have the tools and skill to do some high-end artsy fartsy metal forming; I wish I had a trade besides my I.T./CAD background. You can't hold 'lines of code' in your hands and have people admire your work! lol Copper cupolas and window planters would probably sell well to the Scagit Valley Tulip Festival crowd if you get bored with retirement.![]()
That´s a really nice shop you´ve built!
Can´t wait to see that office & bathroom finished.
Nice work! Love the drill press set-up and file cabinet. My wife thinks im nuts for have a filing cabinet in the garage. I tell her its for paperwork I dont want her to see cause she will throw it away. lol
very nice looking shop. i also like the low fence, cheap, fast, & easy to fix if it gets hit or you want to re route it.
congrats on the early retirement, i am working on it as well. i run a union hvac / arch. sheet metal shop.[/QUOT
Thanks knucklehead (nice to be able to call someone that without it being an insult lol). The low fence was my wife's brainstorm but I really like it. Between the two of us we've knocked it down about 500 time but you just put back up and it's fine.
Be sure to cross your t' and dot your I's with the SMWIA pension. They can be a pita to work with. Because of a technicality I have to wait a couple more years for that one but I get 100% of the NW (local 66) pension. Good thing (I guess) is that I get a "raise" of about 2K a month when that kicks in.
sweet!! im wanting a lil room in my nxt garage just so i can take my son out with me and he can have a room to play in!! is that a 66 nova i see? if so check out stevesnovasite.com lots of cool guys over there

. I think a got a part time gig coming so that should really speed things up. I've got a lot of plans for the inside to be revealed as they happen. Since joining this board I seem to have aquired an obsession for details. All on the fairly cheap though, nothin' fancy. I'll revive this thread when I have more to show.\
Wow, how'd I miss this build? This is great! Like Jack said, love the colors.![]()
Great build man. Its this sort of thing that makes me think I could actually do this myself one of these days...
Beautiful car!!
Great job on the garage & those planters are very cool.
Hope the part time gig comes off.
Those flower buckets look great!
I think your wife's car is beautiful. I feel for you on the heart work -- my 72 Beetle (well, it's kind of a Beetle's racier brother) got an engine earlier this year, and it turned out I've got to go back and rebuild it now.
Thanks for sharing this build. You probably live within a mile or so of my brother. He his near Pilchuck tree farm just east of 5. I really envy your landscape. There is absolutely nothing green here in Texas right now.
