I think odds are that I see one soon. Whether or not it will be affordable is the question. The other strange thing is that I have never seen a single flex head speeder locally either, in all these years. And I'm talking thousands of sales. Where are these things hiding? Strange.

I got mine when I went to pick up the SK stack, $10. Only one I've seen in the wild.

I have only ever seen one of them too and I own it now. A proto la version picked it up for $6 at a flea market.

No, flex head speed wrenches. Speeder/breaker bar combo.

I didn't even know such a thing existed. Now I need one, they look handy if you're working without air or battery impacts. What I saw on eBay are a little rich for me, but I'm gonna keep my eyes open for one either online or locally. Although I won't hold me breath...lol

Nice ratchet R. I have tried a few times for one and always miss it. I still don't know the story on these.

Funny note, if memory serves me correct, I'm pretty sure a seller online had one a couple years ago, and thought it was an early Wright because the name was worn or missing so all that was visible was WRICHT  I think it sold for a decent amount too.

I thought that originally when I first seen one because the stamping was worn. I have no idea on the story of this one either.

got this CMan ratchet last weekend, part of a $10 haul. It's missing a screw. I haven't taken it apart yet.

Picked up some ratchets today.

Top to bottom:
- 1951 and '52 1/2" drive Blackhawk Lock-On Ratchet adapters - interesting that the '52 is much smaller in diameter than the '51.
- Powerkraft 1/4" drive - Prob not USA made but unsure.
- 1/2" drive Duro-Chrome 677D removable plug
- Plomb WF-38
- Crafty BT 1/2" drive
- Keystone Mfg. hex drive SK555
- 3/4" drive Blackhawk Baldie, 1951 - in excellent condition.

I picked up a ratchet that I didn't recognize on Friday but Twertsy identified it as an early S-K. Sure enough, I found an image of the set on Tool Archives in a '39 catalog.

Found this a while back, 3bay suggested it could be a Bonney. I tend to think it is Bonney, or Bon-e-Con at least, but I wanted to see what you all thought. It is 1/2" drive.

I can't see from these photos whether the W has circular serifs and an underline, but if so, that would be the Westinghouse logo.

Traveling today through Lewisburg PA, stopped in a "Street of Shops." Tools were few among the hundreds of stalls, but I spotted this partial set of Bethlehem Spark Co ratchet/sockets made by Bonney. Traces of the copper plating remained. The box was wood with most of the hinged lid missing. Marked $45 - well above my idea of its value.

I picked up this 1943 Plomb 1/4" drive ratchet to replace the pebble placeholder in my wartime Plomb set.

I have a 1/4" Thorsen picked up in an estate sale that is in fantastic shape and looks just like the one at the bottom of Sam's photo. I didn't need it but couldn't leave it there. Paid $4. for it.

Indestro also made an identical ratchet to that as well. All of my ratchets like that are marked SK

I wonder why they didnt put any kind of marking on this one.. is that a common thing for Indestro? I have one of their 1/2 ratchets that had no markings but a serial number that traced back as Indestro..

Probably was part of one of those economy sets.
Metal holder with a handful of sockets, a big Allen wrench to use as a breaker bar and the ratchet with an adapter to take the sockets.
Only the holder was marked with a sticker or something to keep cost down.
Then there were those Fleet brand sets that had the dual pawl Penens ratchets. Decent sets but the ratchets weren't marked with Fleet logo, only a model #.

That is good to hear! Unfortunately I ceased years ago to actively add to the collection. Family and work dictate I focus my time elsewhere. Still have what I had accumulated to that point in time though. Great to see so many members continue the "ratchet mania". :rocker:

Twertsy has a fantastic collection, and some top notch posting on vintage ratchet history.

Been so long since I last posted...........my pic's are saved on an old computer in the closet.

In the coming days may re-run some from 5 years ago from another thread. :pimpflash

Yes you will have to post some pics. I have never seen your collection since I just started a few years back. I need to find a better storage method since roll cab are not the best. How do your store yours?

100 of the 1/4'' drives I have on a poorly constructed tool board using some Snap-On Truck magnets I scored at the pawn shop cheap. Hope to get some close-ups later.

Well # 13 showed up :p, found it on eBay, didn't seem too special by the pics, just another vintage craftsman spinner ratchet that the seller posted so I set my goal and sure enough it came home to me. Low and behold when I opened it up I was shocked to see how clean this thing was :shocking:, out of all of these I own, this is by far the cleanest I have ever seen, dare I say almost like new? I tried to take some good, close up shots but I apologize for my poor camera skills. I did nothing to this but take it out of the box and snap the pics, no clean up work was done by myself. Although some superlube may be in its future.
