I am going to be taking a road trip this summer from here in California to Auburn, Alabama.
2400ish miles
I am transferring to Auburn University for school.
War Eagle!

I am doing many many repairs and fresh parts into my car.
Yes I have got AAA and its the premium highest level.

The car is a 1993 BMW 325i sedan

But theres always the chance of the ohh no...

So I have thrown some stuff together in a 50caliber ammo can

1 can of brake cleaner
1 can of Boeshield T9
1 can of PB blaster
roll of duct tape
4 36"? HVAC zipties
handful of 11" zip ties
paracord
JB weld

Do you guys have any other suggestions for stuff I should put in?

Crescent wrench, pliers, channel-lock pliers, screwdrivers, fuses, electrical tape, etc.

Good idea for the AAA membership but think you could get by on the basic plan once you get settled. I've always kept the basic and had need to upgrade when a 16 ft trailer (with broken axle) didn't qualify for flatbed hauling unless I had RV-level AAA plan and I just upgraded over the phone that day for rest of year - - - it was around $110 a year. Scaled back to basic AAA plan the next renewal.

Good luck on the roadtrip.

The AAA membership and the highest level is always a good thing to have. The towing is very important but so is the jump-start and gas delivery features. Make sure you take a 12-v charging cord for your cell phone. If you are using a GPS< make sure it has the latest updates.

Use the AAA Travel Agency for making all of your motel reservations. AAA can plan the entire trip for you and even provide the route that will work best for you.

While you can put gas on credit cards, I would have at least one major oil credit card. Most stations affiliated with an oil company will have discounts for gas if you use their card instead of a credit card.

Take some cash too. Maybe a couple hundred? You may find yourself in some place that doesn't take credit cards. Or at least have a list of ATM's along your route that will accept your credit or debit card.

about six feet of 18 AWG electrical wire. About six feet of 12 AWG electrical wire. Roll of good (Scotch 33) electrical tape. Bailing wire, about six feet. Spare fuse kit compatible with your car.

Forget the fix a flat. Get a tire plugging kit and a 12 volt pump. Nothing pisses me off more than busting down a tire with that smelly messy **** in it.

Jumper cables, small tube of waterless hand cleaner, half roll of toilet paper, some rags, quart or two of your favorite oil, gallon of 50/50 coolant, few hundred in cash-nothing larger than a ten dollar bill.

just some suggestions.

Oh yeah, a small first aid kit to include headache medication, something for an upset stomach and something to stop the shits...

Hopefully you'll have enough room left for an overnight bag or two...

Good luck at school.

You are going to have enough **** to go across Africa. I would take money, condoms, and a change of clothes. Those will get you out of an emergency the rest you can get along the way if needed.

A ziploc bag with some disposable latex or nitrile gloves.
Maybe something to lay on if you have to get under the car. Or just use your floor mats.

Have fun man! Those kind of drives are great.

ditto, I haven't had to bust a tire with slime in it, but every tire guy out there will hate you for it, and likely charge at least double to fix the tire.

OP, for a trip like that, pics are required...but you knew that right? :lol_hitti

ROLL TIDE!!!

I'd leave the brake cleaner and get a tool bag with a ratchets, sockets, wrenches, the usually tools you use on your bmw. I'd also go to HF and get a 24" breaker bar. Works great for changing tires and as an intimidating piece of bad ***.

You'll have either one of two situations. Either you won't hardly drive at all once you get there because there is NOTHING in Auburn, or you will drive very long distances every weekend because there is NOTHING in Auburn.

Plan accordingly with the maintenance.

A U-haul truck for all this ****, a tow dolly for the car and U-hauls phone number! If it breaks down, call them it's their problem. :lol_hitti

Just pack some basic tools, a first aid kit and duct tape. Have a great trip and post lots of pics on here of the trip.

Take two things..............

If it don't move and it should use WD40 - if it does move and shouldn't use Duct-tape :lol_hitti

Seriously tho

Keep kit basic - have your mobile and recovery number and enjoy
