Impact wrench in the lugs or impact driver? You said wrench for building the rack. My impact wrench blows off the lugs on my 14 F150 after I manually torque them to 150. Not sure if you were using an extension or something but mine has been flawless.

Dtuck, I was using the impact WRENCH on the lugs. Like I said, I thought they might've been too tight the first try so i re-torqued them to spec (140 ft-lbs) and tried again. No dice. I was using a 22mm impact socket mated directly to the tool, no extensions. I tried with different batteries, including the fully charged brand-new 4.0Ah, to weed out other possible variables and it only got worse with lower amp batteries. Could've just been a dud tool, who knows.

Just a few more additions to the Ryobi collection got a few restoration jobs coming up. These should make the job a lot easier.

Added more Ryobi to my "collection"...haven't counted but I'm sure I'm up to around 35 or so Ryobi tools, not counting batteries and accessories. Gotta love the green!!

Why are you even bothering with questionable-quality batteries like this when they had the geniune Ryobi P108 4ah batteries for $40 each ($80 for the 2-pack) on Black Friday? I didn't even need any more, but couldn't pass them up for that price so I bought two more.

I'll contribute some Ryobi love. In 18v, I have the compact drill, right angle drill, impact driver, reciprocating saw and high volume inflator. In 40v, I have the Jet Blower, cultivator, hedge trimmer, pruner and the weed trimmer. In electric, I have the 'big' 10" table saw and a pressure washer, and in gas powered - I have a gas trimmer/expand-it capable head. I'm sure I have other stuff, but this is what I can remember for now.

Can you tell Home Depot is just around the corner from my house?

I've had one of the 40v batteries fail. It took a while to get a replacement as they were out of stock, but the process was easy. ***** it failed and it makes me nervous - but I love not having to mess with gas yard tools.

I've owned some of the more expensive brands in the past, but for around-the-home use, I don't see any real difference. It works really well, and no other manufacture comes close to offering the variety of tools, or the longevity of design/battery compatibility of Ryobi.

I have found that for the cordless stuff, the individual tools are noticeably better than the stuff they put in their multi-tool kits. With the usually 'buy one, get another tool free' deal - I'd recommend staying away from the pre-packaged kits and building your own.

Only if the model numbers in the kits are different from the bare tool.

If the model number is the same, the tool is the same.

That great if you bought them at that time. But right now they are 2 for 99 so a 40 buck difference. I only have OEM batteries myself but i can see the appeal of them. Espcially ordering them Amazon Prime....get a defective one and its free to return it

An update; Ryobi sent me a new replacement 40-volt charger and a new 40-volt battery in separate shipments.

It is to be wished HD had told me not to bring back the entire unit and just call Ryobi for replacements.

When making a phone claim, Ryobi will only send replacements if bought as a kit. Separately purchased chargers or batteries will not be warrantied. They require a claimant to have the tool, two batteries and two chargers in hand. They wanted me to do a diagnostic with a separate charger and battery. Not sure what those who only own one charger or one battery would do.

The $139.99 was for something else, Home Depot had it for $89.99.

just noticed at my local HD that the Ryobi hybrid LED work light is now $49 instead of $69. Don't know if it was just at my store or at all HD's. Get a $5 off 50 coupon and buy something worth $1 and it drops the light to $45. Not bad at all....

Anyone used the SDS rotary drill yet? Got one for free by buying the hammer drill kit with battery since I already had all of the other free items. I have to dig a french drain in my crawlspace and figured a clay spade bit should make it easier.

Same price and specs (mainly CFM and waste volume) as the Milwaukee lunch box vacuum. Looks good, but I think it should a little less expensive than the Milwaukee.

Havent had a chance to try it out yet bit should be good for keeping the vehicles clean this spring and summer. It had a lot of good reviews.

I have a $20 model.. the power of the pressure washer will have a big effect on the foam. That, and the orifice size of the nozzle.. I almost bought the Ryobi, but went with a model off Amazon instead.

To counter the wife always calling me over to cut up tree branches with the loping sheers I ordered the Ryobi One+ Chain Saw. Got a good deal on a reconditioned one from Tools Direct. Picked up a couple of the 4 A/H aftermarket batteries to power it up. Sveral tree limbs down from the winter storm, cant wait for it to get here and try it out.

My local Home Depot in their clearance section had a Ryobi impact wrench P261 w/ 4ah battery, charger and soft case for $80 instead of the $99 holiday price. I thought for a second about buying it and with the $5 off $50 coupon getting it down to $75. Still contemplating going back but I already have one plus my Milwaukee impact wrenches so it would be overkill really....

I use mine 4 - 5 times a week. It works great but i suggest using the smaller batteries as it does get heavy, at least it does for the length of time I'm using it.

Just got a few more Ryobi goodies on clearance at Home Depot got both for 143.89 both items on clearance shelf. Usually never check it cause it allways has junk on clearance shelves lucky day I guess.

Just picked up the 18V router and belt sander, and replaced my wearing-out blue drill...

I'm not too impressed with the new style drills - I liked the bubble in the ****, and it seems the new ones are cheaper, but we'll see how it works. The belt sander was DOA out of the box, but it's replacement works pretty good.

Update on the vac pretty powerful little vac used on my wifes car and my truck cleaned them up real nice. Only used a battery and a half.

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't exchange it, just returned it. I went and bought the Milwaukee 1/2" mid-torque and it can remove my lugs on the lowest setting, very impressed.
