Their caulking gun rules!

It does, up until you want to use the big-boy size tube of caulk. Really wish they had an upgrade available, like the Milwaukee's have. If you are building your house, or at least going through after the framers build, get a battery caulk gun. The effort to properly seal your house will be easily save you what any of the guns cost in a couple years.

Crews are better at sealing joints in more recent times, but unless it is a top end crew, no one will seal your house like the homeowner will (granted they realize what they are doing).

I love any battery one because they can apply a more consistent bead, and push out thicker substances with ease, and usually doesn't dribble any caulk when the trigger is released

The caulking gun is a no brainer if you have any ryobi batteries. And even if you don't there are cheap adapters out there for most of the major battery platforms. The only downside I can find is that it's so big. But the flow is smooth and consistent. It had the power to push out 2 part concrete epoxy. And of course your hands are hurting when your done with the caulking job.

Yeah, the inline DeWalt is a lot better design. But not for 4x the money.

Anyone tried the Garage door opener yet? I have been seriously thinking of going that way.

I bought the 2hp model for my dad last year when it was on the super sale they run occasionally. He loves it. I got him the extension cord and fan attachments as well.

Found a picture and video. The door opener is silent. The noise is the 80 year old garage door itself. We lubed it afterwards and got it to quiet down. We both love the soft start and stop feature. The light is very bright as well.

Yeah, if your using it everyday then it's probably worth it to buy a better one. But for a homeowner with occasional use it's hard to beat. Like a lot of other Ryobi stuff.

Agreed, which is kinda why I'm glad I got into the line. For the weird, rarely used stuff that's pretty darn decent for the price.

Is that a...fan...and a cord reel, already built in?

EDIT: an inflator. Not my cup of tea, but a good idea. And 100 openings on a battery, damn! And bluetooth speaker...this thing should be on shark tank. And an option for a cord, excellent.
Sold! Lol.

That is the extension cord reel, not the inflator. My dad has a real air compressor so the inflator wasn't needed. Fan works quite well. Also the ac cord isn't an option it's required. The battery is for back up in case of power outage.

Direct Tool Outlet Labor day sale on "factory blemished" items. I've bought these in the past and the "blemish" is either impossible to find or extremely small.

Only blemish I could find was on the trigger of the inflator.

Ah, yes, I meant the extension cord as an option after I creeped on their site.

I checked out that site from your other post hoping for some deals...most blems are actually 2 cents more than new :headscrat

Yes, I'm aware of that. Hopefully it was a quite significant sale!

(I asked what it ran you :bounce:)

Sorry about that, didn't realize it was you in both threads. Looks like I answered you in the other one. You have to watch that site for deals on the blemished stuff, otherwise they aren't worth it. Never buy a reconditioned tool from them. The one I tried came in still broken and looked like a store return. The so called blemished tools look brand new to me though and can save quite a bit when you catch them on deals. Picked up the trimmer/edger for dirt cheap in the past along with an older jigsaw before the brushless came out.

Found this picture on reddit. Looks like ryobi will be coming out with a Portaband soon.

I would buy that for $100. Would prefer the DeWalt, but...the non deep cut is still at least $200. :(

A deep cut would be even more enticing. Granted, I picked up a faithful corded model and a lifetime supply of blades...but.

I'm loving Ryobi's value. Just can't beat it when they seem to be useful. Take this 3 piece kit that showed up...half the cost of JUST the DeWalt trim router I almost bought (that's admittedly somewhat better).

Another new addition to my Ryobi collection very pleased with it took forever to get had to special order it at HD
Bought the same LED light last year and immediately modified it the way it should have been designed. Gutted one of the DOA compact battery and with minimal mod to adapt the cord. Powered with either 18V battery or 12V DC the LED light stands and is keep it in my jeep.

Seems the Ryobi #204358001 Router Edge Guide just became unavailable on both Amazon and eBay. Not sure why. There was plenty of stock available just a couple a days ago, and now seems there was a run on them. Hopefully not discontinued.

That's odd. I have a bora clamping rail for my saw plate that I can use for 4 or 8' material.

Google seems to show some available with the same part number, just listed as a Homelite or Ridgid brand. It'll be the exact same thing.

I actually bought this same kit because I wanted the glue gun and a small trim router for occasional use. and the sander was basically free. Turns out I have used the sander more than any of the other 2 tools.

Haha, I was wondering that myself. Wanted router, realized I could get all 3 for 1/2 the price of the DeWalt. I do, however, have the DeWalt orbital palm sander

Kinda wondered if I'd ever use this sander, but figured it might be nice for corners. Could always sell, I suppose.

My guess is the glue gun will see the most use -- I actually just used it.

Here's my latest. I ran the power washer about 4 hours straight the first day, it ran like a champ and the pressure was good. It needs to be on a rolly cart though, maybe I can make one out of a milk crate and some spare casters. The inflator works great too. I had to choose between the M12 inflator and this one, but 18v & the price of the Ryobi sealed the deal. I topped off all four of my son's truck tires and the battery didn't go down one bar.

I have this inflator and it works great! Very handy. I have a big 40 gallon air compressor in the garage, but the Ryobi inflator works so fast and easy that I just grab it for small things like topping up tires.

The different hoses / attachments are very handy too. I've brought it to the beach to blow up the kids' inflatable toys and stuff like that, and it also deflates them as well. Sure beats blowing into a raft for half an hour.

The auto inflate / pressure function is nice to have as well. Set the pressure you want and turn it on and walk away, blows whatever up to that pressure and shuts off. Tons of uses for it.

I picked up this kit on sale for 159 dollars from Home Depot and included 2 free tools. The grinder and reciprocating saw have got a workout, but until now, the impact and circular saw have seen very little action. As for the drill, it is used mainly for bolt extraction, but has performed well each time. The 9ah batteries are a must for the grinder and circular saw.fb0294846b5c09d1eb0956d8001d1a38.jpgf7abdf4a23bdfa6718f6338a92386fbf.jpg

Damn good deal if it came with 2 free tools. Those of us that did the buy a hammer drill and get a free tool kit paid more than $159 to get all those.

Big fan of Direct Tools Outlet. I was at the Rehobeth store recently and got the caulk gun and glue gun on their Ryobi sale.

My best score from Direct Tools Outlet was a few years ago a couple of days after Christmas. I got the 18v Ridgid nailer for $20 and the Ridgid jigsaw for $23. Definitely get on their email list!
