Isn't that what contracts and engineered drawings are for?

Yes, except a contractor decided the drawings weren’t for them. I have the approved drawings and it is super obvious someone screwed up, I just have to babysit it to make sure things get fixed. Shouldn’t have to do this, especially after all the time I have put into the construction drawings.

Consider putting a fine or penalty clause in your contract.

I had a cell tower on one of my commercial buildings. My lawyer did the contract with a penalty clause... sure enough... after getting a five grand bill they fixed the situation before it became ten grand. They whined and I accepted half.

I agree you shouldn't have to do that. Probably remember that next time a bid goes out, don't want that guy:thumbup: Makes you wonder what else they feel was better their way?:headscrat

Long day dealing with office paperwork and the PITA employee. He knows how to push my buttons, that is for sure. Apparently I disrespected him by calling him out on buying supplies without checking prices, total was $370, in one minute, I found same supplies for $155 cheaper. To say I was pissed is an understatement, except I am the bad guy. I told both the employee and my Dad, I am not here to be friends, I am here to keep the business alive. Company brings in over $40k a month and I have had to borrow $110k over the last four months to cover expenses. How the fack does that happen????????

I feel your pain. I was just asked if I'd broke anything today. 'Not yet, but I'm about one trip to China away from breaking the idiots neck for rejecting my paperwork for the second time for the same reason even though the information is clearly there.' Coronavirus be damned.

Halfway home, grabbing dinner. Lost the lower mirror, realized there are no rear shocks, makes for an interesting ride. Truck is very fast, almost scary fast. Once we get to open roads I will find out how fast it actually goes.

Made it back, the lack of rear shocks made things feel not so good at 85, probably would do 100, seriously. There is no redline on the tach, it shows 5000 RPMs and 80 was at 3000 RPMs. Cruise control works, ABS light went out, it has AC, not sure if that works, but I bet it does. It is very odd driving it, the truck has a regular steering wheel and steers just as nice as a pickup truck. I did a bit of research on the propane system, this is a factory venture with an Italian company. It is actually a liquid propane injection system, not the standard vaporized type, it keeps all the horsepower and actually increases the torque curve, so the engine shines with all 330 HP. The fuel tank was just above 3/4 when we picked it up and now it is just above 1/2. The trip was about 140 miles, tank is 79 gallons, so a quarter tank would be 20 gallons, let’s say it used 25 that would be about 5.5 MPG, I am thrilled with that, especially since I was driving 75 most of the way.

This was the good one, they sold one today, I am getting info on last one tomorrow, might buy it for a spare, Dad wants another truck and they have a decent Freightliner, so I may make a deal on both, then have them hauled back.

The odometer rolled over 200k miles on the way home, so it is useless now. Forgot to answer Orion’s question, it is 33k GVW.

In the middle of a snow storm right now, I still hate winter. :(

I guess it is OK, I need to do paperwork anyways. I now have to file away a bunch of documents. I hate filing almost as much as winter. ;)

What kind of steering wheel where you thinking it would have?

What did your father and the employee have to say about the expenses?

I really don't know how you do it with that employee....

truck looks pretty nice...

That truck sounds like it is AWESOME! Especially for the price you paid for it!
So are you going to convert it to regular diesel, or keep it as it is?

Usually big trucks have larger diameter wheels, I am sure it was due to no power steering and mechanical advantage, the little wheel just looks funny.

Truck is going to be used as is, no power train swaps.

Is that what they call a low pro truck. 900 something tires they made a lot of roll backs on the low pro chassis. Good looking truck either way, sounds like it runs pretty good, is it getting a knuckle on it.

Nope, this truck is full on truck, regular 11R22.5 tires nothing low profile about it. Once I get to do a full assessment on it, then I will decide what I am doing with it. Regardless, $2,500 was a steal and I am happy to have it.

I couldn’t do that, I wouldn’t be able to survive the traffic.

It has its moments.
My plan is to be on the road by 6am, my skis are waxed boot bag is packed. I want to be north of Throggs Neck bridge by 6:30 then my trip to Windham will not be that bad. Racing stops at 2 with a little hustle I can be across the bridge before 5 and back on Long Island.
