I hope they are wrong, nothing like snow when everything is thawed, especially a lot of it. :(

Tonight I am going to try and get a few more things done, I have to admit, loading trash, scrap steel, and junk tires all day is taking its toll. I am going to try and get the shop space cleaned up a bit more, have a few things I need to do outside as well. I can already see that there is no way I am going to get everything done this week, too many obstacles that make my direction change substantially. The good thing is that everything that is getting done, needs to be done, just wasn’t in my plan for this week.

Clearing up and getting rid of rubbish and **** is always good progress. My workshop has been in a mess since Christmas when I took ill for a while in the middle of a project.

Finally getting round to tidying it and removing the junk interlopers have added to the pile!

Yup. Got $64 for 800 lbs Monday. Was pleasantly surprised. Don't you have a Cascadia or something to scrap?
Now if only Aluminum would go up.

I can’t scrap any trucks, nope, not happening. ;)

Tonight we took down all the old stuff from the upper shelving then rebuilt it to fit within the footprint of the second level. This is the first step to making my Lista storage wall fit. Tomorrow I will try and get all the extra oil and fluids up there. It will be a good temporary place until the Lista stuff arrives and gets assembled.

To top it all off, the weather guessers are saying (European model) we have a chance for a noreaster next week that could drop two feet of snow on us. :( Looks like it could be better along the coast, but I vote for rain.

I hate snow, it is close to 50 degrees now and I like that.

Its still winter in Maine, whether its been in the 50s or not. Just a tease and mother nature will make us pay. Still 4 ft of frost where I'm working just below Houlton. Been in the 60s all week up there but its far too early for that.

I don’t mean to be an enabler, but this would save you at least $3k.

That isn’t a bad price for a newbie to Listas, but I wouldn’t pay more than $2500 for that. ;) Plus you need to pick it up in Ohio.

I know winter isn’t gone, only because construction season hasn’t started yet.

I wish it was $200 a ton here, I will be watching, those tower legs need to go to the scrap yard at some point.

I agree, except it isn't my workshop or my mess..................

Workshop is mine, mess is not... Plus then I get shouted at for putting everything away and not telling him where I put it...

He (my Dad) is a compulsive keeper of random **** too. Since I took over looking after the workshops a lot of this stuff randomly gets binned over time. I mean who needs a bag of old appliance flex cables when I have a reel of brand new stuff!

Dad showed up this afternoon, he wanted to see what we had done, but it looked like we had hardly done anything. He understood that it was a lot of effort to get where we are now, moving trailers and equipment just to make room. Tomorrow it is supposed to be raining and we will be getting the pallet rack started and hopefully the two bays finished. This afternoon we got the knuckle boom off OMO and chained down to Dad’s trailer setup. That is going to be an awful project, the part that has already been started is terrible, no one took any measurements and nothing fits without making things look gumped together. I can’t wait to have a larger knuckle boom, Dad’s is pretty damn close to the perfect size. It needs to be 20’ longer and have a winch, then it would be great. ;)

Victory!

That has been one of my goals for months and now it is done, super stoked. ;)

Had to cut down the verticals, we cut them all, even the ones set aside for future racking. Now my next goal will be to get the other style racking out of there and finish things off with this stuff. My OCD is a bit troubled, but we weren’t sure where we wanted the top rack, so we decided to do two different locations, then we can move things later. The lower rack is perfect, you can actual use the pallet jack to put a second pallet behind the rack on the floor. I have other things to do today, so not going to worry about loading it yet, will probably do that tomorrow or maybe next week.

That rack should get everything off the floor, of course at some point we still need to go through each pallet and figure out what stays and what goes. My plan is to make a bunch of stuff disappear, but my plan doesn’t always count.

I have some that is going outside at the Salvage Garage as well, then I think I may try and install some more at the Hill, just need to figure things out. The stuff is very rugged and goes to gather pretty easy with two people and a fork lift. ;)

I am up at the Hill cleaning things inside the shop, we have to get to the plumbing with the scissor lift to make some changes in the bathroom layout. I am trying to clear a path and make as much room as possible, but I am also trying to put things away as I go, not just move them and make a worse mess.

Got the plumbing removed, cleaned out the old bathroom in the office, all trash is in the trailer waiting for Monday.

I did get a few things moved up onto the reworked shelving, other than the fact that I don’t have an easy way to get up there, it is a good temporary solution.

That is why I have so many burbs, just in case a couple disappear.

Technically evaporust wouldn’t do anything to the base metal, so there would still be a roof left. ;)

Just seeing that stuff up there is getting me all excited about the Lista storage wall, I know that the entire shop can probably be organized with one side, with two sides I can bring in more of my tools and supplies from the Salvage Garage. My plan was to go over to the SG today and take a head count on my drawers, shelves, and roll out trays so I know what will need to be ordered. Of course there is a really nice tire machine for sale on marketplace, that may derail things a bit. ;)
