I just think it is geared too high, but maybe not? Could just be my clutch, I have never used anything other than second gear and that was because I was driving it a long distance, it was almost uncontrollable when you hit any sort of bump, probably going 6 MPH. I wish they had made it super low geared, but this one was ex military, so maybe it has different gearing, apparently it will go like 25 MPH.

Going to try and unload the Burb this afternoon, I have to go to the Hill and do a couple things in the office first, by then the rain should be done. I may have to take the little dump trailer as well, then I can haul the pallet jack back to the SG, I am going to need it for the tight quarters all the extra stuff has created.

Have you found with your forklifts that are manuals that your clutches are weak? Mine is. I think i'm going to have to split it and replace.

I hope you're able to get all of your storage solutions up and using them soon. Would be fantastic to see things put away and you able to work on other projects before you're moving them 20 times. Best of luck and I hope you don't get too much snow up there.

I got no snow at home, the Hill has about an inch of slush that will become a mess in the morning. I am still undecided on if I am going to plow it or not. Headed to the SG soon, might be snow, might not.

As for clutches, I only have one with a clutch, on flat ground it is fine, on uneven ground it just *****. I will replace it when I do the Diesel engine swap ;)

The subject of storage solutions, let me ponder a bit, well, I don't think I will ever be done organizing things. I do think there will be a happy medium and projects will get done. Right now is a terrible time, mid winter pretty much always ***** for me, this one was taken off course by My Sharona, I suspect that next fall/winter will be far different. I even can see a difference from last fall/winter, losing three weeks, but still being able to make things happen should keep me on track for this fall, I don't like to scramble as much as I had to before this winter set in.

I think that the key for the next couple months is to assemble some temporary Stak Racks at the SG and to assemble some of the Lista Storage wall at the Hill, that should allow me to keep moving forward without tripping myself up too badly.

Todays storm left a mess after a week of below zero temps. Bring your sander up, I may not get out tomorrow without it. :(

I am some glad I brought it over to the Salvage Garage tonight, it was so icy, I slid past my shop and then went sideways for a bit. I am used to studded snow tires, they help significantly. Anyways, I moved things around and then pulled Benson outside again, this should give me some space to try and make things more “compact” inside. B7C35446-AD3F-4F78-8079-E236282AAE25.jpeg

I still need to unload the Blue Burb, might do that tomorrow, I am still beat from the last week.

If I can get this thing vertical, and off to the side, it will make a huge dent in my problem.

The rest of the stuff needs to be on the temporary Stak Rack, I just need to set that up, that’s all, just set it up, yup, easy as pie, I like pie, I am hungry, what time is it?8E01C0B0-B51F-49A9-A624-E9948844045D.jpeg

I scored some 8' x 16' all welded horse shades (now). They used to be an equipment lean-to but I'm going to install them out in the field.

Did I do good by Strouty standards lol ?

I can drive most places in two wheel drive that I would normally have the truck in four wheel drive. They also grip really well on ice, helping with stopping and going.

Yes, the Hill is basically 420’ above sea level, yet only a few miles from the sea. The elevation climbs pretty quick.

I am being lazy today, I haven’t done anything I wanted to do, I woke up this morning at 4 with a sneezing fit, then my nose was running, seems fine now, but it was weird, felt like I inhaled a bunch of dust.

Looks like today and tomorrow will be warmer, going to try and do some organizing at the Salvage Garage. I have a couple ideas and it may end up allowing me to put a bit of the shelving to use ASAP. Also need to try and figure out a better place to store some of the braces, I really don’t want it in the shop if I can avoid it. The carriages are probably going to have to stay inside, I just don’t have another good place for them and I can’t bring myself to put them outside, too many moving parts that can get rusty.

My feet just won't warm up today, I have the heat going at the SG, trying to convince myself to stay and keep working, but I am not going to do too much more. I found a place to use some of the new shelving, but the braces all need to be modified to fit the spot as is, I may be able to do a bit of reworking to make the shelf fit without any modification. It will involve miving a vertical pipe support for the upper area above my computer at the Hill. That entire thing needs some repairs anyways, so probably good timing to mess with it. Maybe I can get that done Friday or Saturday. Still plan on being at the SG for Thursday, the day is supposed to be warmer right from the start so I may be able to take advantage of it.

I got the Burb unloaded, wasted some time online, then decided to sign up to sell on ebay again, didn't seem to be much additional info, except the bank account and TAX ID info. I may try and list a few items to get myself back into the swing of things, I really need to do this, there are shelves of ebay items that have expanded further and further into my valuable storage space for my "treasures". My feet are no longer cold, I turned the heat on under the desk while I was wasting time online, helped substantially. I am starting to feel that my online usage and a lot of my technology is draining my life force, the amount of screen time has increased a lot in the last year and I think it directly correlates to my productivity. I may slow down posting and replying for a bit, I need to revisit reality for a while.

I just feel that all my tech is taking over and I need to be mindful of it. I think what would be nice is to just plan a time to post updates and pictures. It isn't that GJ itself is taking a huge amount of time, but I feel like I waste a lot of time on the internet in general. I am going to try and go back to my regular notepad and consolidate thoughts, then set a time to get online and try to stick with my plans. Right now things are random and I can very easily head down a rabbit hole that seems endless. I spent over an hour today looking for pants, the ones I have been wearing are crazy money (I bought a bunch on clearance), but I like the style and fit, so rabbit hole achieved. I didn't find what I was looking for, but I may order some that seem to fit the bill, they are much less expensive and offer better size options as well. Enough about my pants.......

Good plan on throttling back on the internet.... I'm guilty as well about wasting a lot of time on random and mind numbing things on the interwebs... F-book is one of them... Drives the anxiety as well....

It will take a little while to ween yourself off the internet dopamine hits...

Regardless, keep up the progress! I think you've done pretty well this last while!

Just in case you weren’t aware, the feds now require eBay, PayPal, Zella etc... etc.... to 1099 you once sales and/or income hit $600/ year. Sad really. We pay income tax, then sales tax on the items we buy ( retail, on-line & eBay ) THEN, we get to pay income tax on our used items again AFTER we pay eBay 12-13%. After 21 years of eBay/papal and a 2,400+ feedback, I’m done. It will ALL be craigslist & FB marketplace moving forward for me w/ payment as cash, money order or PayPal friends & family. I bet you even get 1099’s moving forward w/ your local auction houses.
