Very possible, but not in this situation, we are trying to dress things up for a final inspection, doing that would compound the work substantially as you would need to do this in several locations.

It was.

There was a second cable in one end of the conduit, we decided to try and pull it out, but it was stuck. It was an older phone type cable and we figured it may have had some sort of splice or something that was catching on a poorly seated section of conduit, keep in mind this is 4” conduit. First thing was to pull a larger rope through, but we were worried that the RG6 might snap since things got really tight part way, off to Home Depot to get some pull string. When we came back, we pulled newly acquired pull string through with the RG6 cable, when I pulled it out it was obvious why I couldn’t get it to test or get the internet working. Somehow the RG6 never got pulled all the way through, the electrician must have gotten confused, it was about ten feet shy of the end, but there was a taped up section that was the two ends of the cables, so I never had a continuous run. Once we figured that out I was happy, or so I thought. Then we pulled the larger rope through and then attached the rogue cable to it and started pulling, it got hard at several points, but I got the end through to the basement of the house, but I could not pull it any further, we tried a few things, even tried pulling it back to the shop, but it turned into a tangled mess and we had all we could do to get things back out. At this point I started to thing that there was a T or a Y in the conduit, so we went searching in the lower part of the wood shop. There was a conduit, with our rope, then about 15’ away from the there was another conduit that went into the house basement. All this time, the “hard” pulling was us pulling the cable through piles of random wood and **** all stacked up in between the conduit ends. We got the new RG6 run and tonight I will hook things up and hope for a different result. I would have never guessed this, only because of that rogue cable did I even have an idea that it could have done something funny.

I am going to do something, but there is not enough room to work in there, you have to climb over piles of wood from two different areas to get to either conduit. The plan is to setup a junction box and then I can put a wireless router in the wood shop to help with coverage. The conduits come out at different levels and angles, connecting them would be tough, but not impossible. At this point I have to do the temporary thing and get it functional.

I am early and waiting at PT, I may actually get a dump truck and operator today, might be able to salvage things a bit. I really need this to be done this week. Saturday I am going to mess with the Conex and see what Perk can do or not do as far as lifting it. From there I either decide to try it myself or have someone else haul it.

I need to have things setup in the office by next week so that I have at least a usable desk and computer. The internet will help as most all of my data is backed up in the cloud and just needs to be synced to the new computers. Then I have to get tires for the ramp truck and deal with that so we can get the copier upstairs. That will be the next big project.

Funny, not funny. The crew I am using works for one of my cousins, they called me at 2:45 and asked where I wanted the gravel, because they weren’t going to get to it today. WTF? Anyways 3:30 they are rolling out, I am like it doesn’t get dark until after 7. Kind of annoyed, I could do most of the work myself if I had a dump truck here.
An eight hour day with 30 minute lunch means starting at 7 am. Not everyone is like you and works from sun up to sun down.

I guess the 3:30 quitting time follows regardless of the crew. I am not complaining today since I am soaked. I have the same crew for tomorrow and they know what the plan is, if it doesn’t rain all day we can have everything done, if it is raining, the loam will have to wait. At least I am feeling positive about things now. ;)

Well that did it, I officially jinxed myself, can’t get the internet upstairs in the office. Everything appears to be functioning properly except it won’t actually connect to the modem. I have done the parts shuffle, next would be to try another RG6 cable, but I am out of steam for tonight. I even thought that it could be two MoCa boxes on the same splitter, but after taking the working one out of the loop, still nothing upstairs. I tried manually entering the same info from the working setup, it shows like it is connected, but it won’t actually let me online. :(

Good luck today. After some sleep, did any thoughts on the internet issue come to you? And if it's the same system that brought us our last rain, hang on. It seems like we had rain for over a week. It was a very slow mover.

The last part was just drizzle, it seems to be losing steam over the ocean.

I didn’t get much sleep and the internet didn’t fix itself overnight, stupid internet.

I have been weeding and raking all morning, my elbow isn’t very happy with me, but I do not want to be here after this week, way too much on my plate. I can see I am going to have to get my sprayer out, there is no way I want to get to this point again, going to kill everything I can with as little effort as possible. I do need to be careful on the rain garden side, I can’t kill those bushes, they are required and expensive.

This crew is definitely better, but they keep tailgating the material on the way in, not out, so then the driver has to wait until it gets spread before he can leave. A little annoying, the rest of the work makes up for it I guess.

It was part of the permitting process, landscape architect said what had to be done. They are dwarf arctic willows, took quite a bit of effort to get them to stay alive, I had to water them daily for a couple weeks and then every other day for about a month.

I have the same two guys tomorrow and we will be able to finish everything, probably won’t even make it to 3:30, now the jinx is in. ;)

I just setup the final inspection with the Code Enforcement officer and the Town Engineer on Monday, glad they could do it that quickly.

I am so tired that I am actually going to bed at about 8:30, everything hurts. :(

Got hay and grass seed, water tank will be filled for the morning, all I need now is my water pump setup and it is over at the Salvage Garage. I am going to the tower site tonight to drop off the hay, then go to the SG to get the water pump. Should be ready to go for tomorrow and not be too late of a start.

I actually got it working, but not through the wires, I need to get that part figured out, for now I have a wireless bridge from the house. I haven’t had time to troubleshoot things yet. At this point I will have to do some parts swapping to see if I can figure out why it is doing what it is doing. May even have to contact tech support. ;)

I am going to get the rest of the seed and hay spread, then water everything, assuming I can find the pump, so far I haven’t found it.

Been a slow start, I am back at the Salvage Garage got to give Bev a shakedown before I get everything loaded up, need to get fuel anyways. Guess I will be working tomorrow too, what’s new? ;)

I got to setup one of my collapsible cage crate thingies, they are pretty nice, should be a great thing to have for all the various things I have, mostly be more for temporary storage, like grouping project parts together. I really like the way they fold up and they stack both open and closed.

Shakedown went fine, only a couple miles, but no shakes, brakes work, AC blows cold. After lunch I will unload a bunch of stuff, then load things up and head to the site. I would like to get water pumping tonight or at least figure out if I need something else to make things work.
