This morning I am going to put the mirror back on the Army Dump, then bring it to my Buddy's shop, he is going to do some repairs to the fuel system and we are going to re-envision the mirrors.

He also has the tool to get the coolant line disconnected from the Blurb, so when he drops me off, we can get that sorted out, then I get to deliver some things to my Dad's shop. After that, who knows...

Racer-John, you should probably check the contest rules...

;)

So far I have brought the Army Dump up to my Buddy's place, then we ordered some parts to fix the Blurb, fixed the Blurb, now I am about to head to my Dad's shop to drop off some of his stuff.

Then I need to do some errands that I didn't get done yesterday. I will start my real week on Tuesday.

When I lose my sense of humor, I will be in a world of hurt, if I couldn't find things funny, I would have to cry.
It helps to know that the razzing comes from a good place. We only want to see you succeed and finish the projects you already have on your plate.

But I also enjoy living vicariously through you and seeing the cool stuff you acquire.

One of the trailers is already way over my bidding budget, so that helps, because I am not interested in paying too much on a whim. The other one looks like it may go cheap enough, sucky part is that she is a heavy trailer, weighs 6600 pounds empty and it has air brakes. I am not really interested in taking Perk, so it would be the Blurb. That is a lot of weight not to have brakes, so I am trying to figure out a way to get brakes without braking the bank (punny, right?).

The second trailer could probably be had for a reasonable price, but it has on flat tire and at least one tire with a major flat spot. I would guess there was a brake issue and that is where the flat spot came from. If it was at the Massachusetts auction yard, I would get it, but it is on Long Island and with the possible issues that is a bit too much for even me, so I am dropping the idea of either trailer, there will be more.

Passing on the trailers is a smart move.

What type of trailer are you looking for that you don't already have? I thought you were in pretty good shape with the current trailers? Especially after you got rid of a few things.....

Just asking the question, but do you want to continue to repair trailers or get to the point of building your truck or the payloaders...???

Always entertainment in this thread! LoL

They would have been for parts. If I could have bought the tandem axle trailer cheap, I could have made the long tilt trailer air brake and not had to deal with the electric brakes. It sold for $1700 plus fees, so close to $2k, great deal for the parts, but I don’t want to tie up more money for a project that would be way down the list. They pop up on a fairly regular basis, usually closer to me as well. The other one was electric brake but it had a 3 cylinder yanmar diesel powering the hydraulics, it sold for about $3000 after fees. If I could have bought them for under $500, I would have pulled the trigger and dealt with it.

Yesterday afternoon I got some stress relieving news. The tower that I had climbed to get info for the engineer passed the structural analysis, of course this is with a few things removed that are currently on the tower. There is an entire backstory to all this that I can’t really go into detail over, but having the tower pass was a very good thing. I now get to fight back and forth with the cell carrier since we have the right to do the upgrades for their equipment (per the lease). I won’t actually do the work, but I will have someone that I trust do the work and I will get to make sure they won’t do anything beyond the scope of the allowed work.

I only purchased a couple things today. ;)

I bought a “tire cage” for a pickup truck, it will need to be reworked a little bit, but it will fit the dump trailer with minimal effort.

Then I bought a bulk bag lifter, should work well for the bags of sandblast media. They also had some of my favorite small pallets, got seven of those.

I am most likely buying a diesel air compressor as well, that should essentially round out my air needs for the sandblasting, then I won’t have any need to borrow my Dad’s.

I have to do a bunch of prep work and errands tomorrow, plus the guy with the tire cage is bringing the truck over so I can remove it at the Salvage Garage. I set out some tools while I was there, so I should be ready, it only has eight 3/8” bolts holding it on, but they are stainless and I think the threads were over tightened. I should be able to break them off, if not I have a grinder, if not that, then the torch. I couldn’t even buy the materials for the $250 and reconfiguring it shouldn’t take as long as building it from scratch.

Got a bunch of the trash and the worst steel loaded, cleared out an area for my Brother to dump more chips and debris. Now I am over at the Salvage Garage waiting for the tire cage delivery. Then I have to dump the steel and do some errands, head back to the Hill and take a trip to the scrap yard and one to the dump. I am sure there will be more stuff tossed in for good measure.
