If I find spare time for sale, I am going to hoard it!

I have a plan for winter prep, but it is slow going and I keep tripping on stupid stuff. I am at the Hill trying to get things prepped a bit, it is windy and cold today, kind of *****. I have someone coming to pick up a forklift they bought a year ago, they were supposed to be here at 8AM, but at 8:30 they texted me saying they would be here at 12:30. Pissed me off because I had to get up early to get the thing out and running, except I didn't, oh well, it was fun loading up stuff at 6:30 in the dark.

If they ultimately pick it up, thats a "win" for the day...

Remind us which forklift it was?

I just had my forklift (Clark 500) out of the small garage yesterday evening to shove a piece of equipment into the larger garage. I had the battery tender running on it, so it started right up. I took that for a win after the crazy week...

This was a hyster pioneer rough terrain 8K lift. It will drive, no brakes, ignition works, so you can stop it fairly quick by shutting the engine off. Had a leaky tire, but another winter sitting flat, now it won't take air at all, just spritzes water everywhere (not very refreshing). The Mitsu and the military forklift (with the winch), should be more than enough fire power, one way or another it's going on the trailer. Latest update was they were an hour away, so I have to wrap up my smaller mess before it becomes a bigger one that messes with the loading.

As much as I don't want to, I think I am going to spend the next two weeks cleaning up things at the Hill, then move the equipment back to the Salvage Garage once I am "done". I am always a bit over ambitious, but most of the stuff at the SG can be moved fairly easily in comparison to the Hill, especially if we do get any white stuff. This doesn't mean I won't do anything at the SG, but it will be more concentrated effort. All I need to do is work 30 or so hours each day for the next month, that should get things manageable...

I am just starting the winter prep, taxes were finished, huge relief. I have plenty of things to do and no time to do them. I have been searching marketplace and eBay, but no one is selling spare time.

I don't know why, but this year it seems like there is a lot more stuff do be done than normal. And I only have a fraction of the stuff that you do!

They are talking about snow by this weekend, so I've spent the last week running around getting everything ready for that.

Good to see you posting again Strouty.

I keep trying to do some pressure washing, but the last couple days have been crazy windy, today I have to do some prep work at the Salvage Garage, going to try and stay there most of the day. Luckily Saturday is supposed to be almost 60, so the pressure washing will be set for that day, then I can fill the water tanks at the Hill one last time and be ready for the cold.

This wind just needs to stop, it is making everything difficult.
Super windy here in South Dakota as well!
Yesterday was beautiful, almost no wind, and comfortable temps for the season.

Dare I say it.... we have snow in the forecast for Saturday. I was shuffling stuff and trying to be prepped for it. Mostly successful.

Saturday is still looking like almost 60, so I am still planning on doing my pressure washing and final water tank fill at the Hill. On Sunday I am going to try to get everything that can freeze inside over at the Salvage Garage. I need to move the big Kentucky trailer out of the way and, I am trying to prep for that today. Got a million things to do and not enough time to do them.

The Salvage Garage had 4" when I left at 5PM, supposed to snow most of the night and they were saying 4-6", I am guessing we will get more than that, it was fluffy powder. The Hill was wetter and at home it is raining on top of the few inches we did get. I suspect it is going to be a mess and it doesn't look like it is going to get warm enough to get rid of it before the next week's round.

I cannot get used to the cold here because it swings too much week to week. Maybe in January it will make its mind up, but I am not holding my breath. Those little forklifts were used at one time to unload cargo from helicopters out in the field, they were being phased out in favor of the small extending boom tele-handler machines. Not sure what their correct names are, so hope I got that right.
