Is the end of that joint adjustable to tighten it up, shouldn't be difficult to get a new ballstud if it is worn,
I don’t think it is, the ball stud slides back and forth to act on a valve or spool, I think it had a sleeve that was like a bushing, but there isn’t much left of the upper part. At some point I am going to have to take it apart and deal with it, for right now I am just hoping it can wait until after the snow starts setting in. This week I want to get the three boxes that Dad wants gone off to the scrap yard and then the one that I am keeping up to the top area. Then next week I can work on the rest of the big stuff. I figure it will take me a couple weeks with the amount of usable daylight.
The rest of today is going to be a massive organizing push so I can get all my stuff put away, everything except the little orange forklift is out of the Quonset hut, unfortunately some is outside and will probably have to just get covered with a tarp. I have made some big dents in things and today is pretty warm, so I expect to be able to work later tonight as well.

Rain was way more than expected, not happy, wind blew water 15 feet into the shop before I got all the doors closed. Some stuff that I didn’t want to get wet is now soaked, including me.

I just finished the shelving, all except the upper shelves, I need more plywood for that. I have to go and make my voice heard (doubt it), then I am going to try and get some of the totes and miscellaneous stuff out of the shop, should be a big help trying to get things organized.
Got a bit more done, I am going to do a quick office check over and then head home. Things should go better in the daylight, especially after getting some rest. The entire Quonset hut thing has been stressful and weighing on me a bit more than expected, hopefully now things will at least be a bit better.

This ^^^ makes me ask what about Dads building at his house? The shop is on a lower level, isn't there as big of a space above it? I'm sure it's jammed tight but with what?

Dumb question, are you just really into forklifts or do you have an end goal for the new herd of lifts?

The BFF is going to be a very useful tool for future projects, a couple of them are going to get some minor repairs and then be sold. One is scrap, bought only for the forks and two of the "small" ones are going to be used for a while. Ultimately I have to make some long term repairs to my current fleet and didn't want to be without a forklift for months, so these will at a minimum be a temporary replacement.
Salvage Garage would end up with the BFF, current hyster 8K (needs an engine rebuild), then most likely the forklift that I haven't picked up yet would be there as well (rough terrain style). I think the only time Clark would be needed over there is in the muddy part of Spring, but I hope to have the ground firmed up in the next year or so, eliminating that issue altogether.
The Hill will end up with Clark (needs some work too) most of the time (relatively easy to transport) and Sinker will act as the heavy lifter.
Basically each location would have a tiny indoor forklift, an outdoor forklift and a rough terrain forklift, the BFF is the only outlier and it is best suited for the SG rather than the Hill anyways.
Once I get loaders operational the line up might change a bit, but I would say that I will most likely always have multiple forklifts.

I think of Strouty as a mechanical Dr Frankenstein. He is trying to build the perfect machine for his purpose. Since it doesn't exist (at least reasonably priced) he is building his own.

I wasn't productive at all yesterday, really wish I could have flipped days, but I had been to the chiropractor on Monday and it hit me hard yesterday, my back was telling me NOOOO and I knew if I pushed it, things would be bad. Glad I did take the day off, my back feels much better today, my arms are still sore though. I had to do about 30 minutes of stretching before leaving the house this morning, then I had to gather all the trash and recycling at the Hill, now I am being dumb and looking on Marketplace for a hydraulic paper cutter...
Hopefully this afternoon will be a bit calmer overall, I am moving things around a bit, but I don’t want to get things all spread out again and have it start raining. Looks like it is going to be dry for the next few days, going to have to cram a lot into a little timeframe. I would like both bays at the Hill ready for action by Monday. I am going to need to work on something in order to get myself back to a semi dependable DD. I still think the Volvo is the best shot, then I need to do the testing on the Blurb to see if it is the engine or the trans making the vibration, at least the rear end has been eliminated as it will make the same vibration in park.

Is it possible that your push button four wheel drive could be causing it?? Not sure if the diesels have the little motor for engaging the front end.
I know what you are talking about, but that wouldn't make any noise in park. This is only from 1500 RPMs and up, I am planning on unbolting the torque converter, then I will know if it is engine or transmission. The 4L80E trans are not known for going 375k without a rebuild, but as far as I know, this is the original transmission. Previous owner bought it with 100k and drove it to 350k on the same transmission, if it went before 100k then something was wrong, most behind the diesel engine last longer as they are almost all fly by wire with the transmission and engine talking to each other about shifting, gas engine weren't like that until the newer body style.
Dad is coming up so we can do a bit of paperwork for his retirement account, hopefully it won't take too long, but we will see. At least it is a crappy weather day, so tomorrow should be a bit better, I also think I will feel better overall after another good night's sleep. regardless, this is something that needs to be done, so better to do it now than scramble on Monday.

This "rain" is so annoying, it is more like mist, so it doesn't look like it is raining, but things are getting wet. I am running out of motivation for the day, dealing with Dad for an hour took a lot out of me. I have a few more things I can do, then I am going to the bank, after that heading home. I think Chuck has the right idea, he is all curled up with a pile of blankets over him, he gets up to eat and go to the bathroom and that is about it.

It's okay to admit that dealing with your dad took a lot of mental energy and stress. Sounds like your back could use a rest as well, so call it a day and recuperate, both mentally and physically!
I am chipping away at things, I think this weekend isn’t going to be as fast paced as I would like, my back is still sore. I think I just overdid things the day after seeing the Chiropractor and that has made things worse than normal. If I can have the main bays cleared that will make me fell a lot better, lots of work, but even at a slower pace I think it is doable.
Got a lot moved out to the Conex, still have to do some organizing, but I at least feel like I am making progress. The Lista storage wall parts are going to be the biggest issue for right now. I can consolidate a lot of it, but I am not ready to use most of it. My current plan is to bring it to the Salvage Garage since that is where most of it will be used. I just have to make some space to put it away for the winter. Other big things that I don’t have a spot for yet are the waste oil tanks, the upright furnace, and the two wall mount AC units. The waste oil tanks need to be drained and cleaned a bit before putting them into service, I made some plates to weld onto them so I can add casters, not 100% sure I want to do that, might just do some taller feet instead. The issue is that they sit so low you can’t even get a forklift under them, really dumb design.
Here is where I am leaving off for tonight, at least at the Hill, I have to drop off some things at the SG, plus I want to see how much effort it will take to get things put away.

Probably going to be a bit more effort than I have available to get everything I want to get done, but what is new. I put some good batteries in the BFF and it fires right up, think the idle is a bit on the low side, it stalls too easy without any throttle.
Plan is to spend the morning at the Hill, then go to the Salvage Garage for the afternoon, then back to the Hill for the evening. This will let me get some things done at the SG in the daylight, things that would be tough to do in the dark. Hopefully I will feel like I got more accomplished when the day is over than I do tonight.

Great progress! Organizing involves so many small (and big) decisions. It's very wearing! Keep on Truckin'
I hadn’t really thought of that perspective, it is stressful and overwhelming for sure. I am about to get started, had to do a few errands and since I didn’t get home until almost 10 last night I didn’t get up until about 7. It is supposed to be cool, but sunny, I love that type of day, it works for me.
The gasoline powered Hyster H110 has some sort of battery draw, will need to figure that out, brand new battery with 0.3 volts is never good. Now that I have it shuffled, I pulled the battery and it is on a float charger, hoped I got to it soon enough that it didn’t freeze.
I need an exhaust manifold for that same H110 forklift, been looking on eBay and Marketplace, keep missing them, bought a new one on eBay, sent me totally different exhaust manifold. I look on rock auto and not only do they have them, they come with all the gaskets and studs, plus they are cheaper??? I guess I should have checked there first, really surprised that they had it in stock.

I used the booster pack to get it running, then left it running for a while, I had some other things to do anyways, it was at least back to 12 volts, so no issue with the float charger. I just wished it hadn't drawn down that much, we have had some high 20s overnight and I am sure I decreased the overall life of the battery, but hopefully it isn't totally junk. All the new chargers are pretty useless when the battery voltage is "too low", makes no sense, that is why you have a charger!
Still picking away at things, probably not going to the Salvage Garage tonight, just have everything loaded and ready for tomorrow. Whatever I load has to get unloaded, otherwise I won't have the trailer for the forklift retrieval. While I wanted to have both bays cleared out, I think I am going to work on clearing the lift bay so I can use it and then keep working on things in the other bay as I can. The biggest hurdles I have to getting the other bay cleared out are the three waste oil furnaces, the Lista storage wall parts, and the tire balancer. If I can get the furnaces cleaned and tested, then I have an entirely new project to deal with...
At least I have heat in both locations, so it isn't like things are going to freeze if I don't get them installed this year. I have enough waste oil to run both of them for the winter, so it would be a nice money saver, but at the SG I have a couple things to do that would probably save almost as much money, I need to take out the overhead door where the machine tools are currently, then replace the other door with a smaller insulated door. This will significantly help on heating, then there are the soffits, if I could deal with those, I could save a bunch too. I am going to have to pick away at things, too much on my plate to get everything done, triage, just like an emergency room, hopefully I can stabilize the patient before it is too late!!!
