It isn’t perfect, since I split locations things have become jumbled, basically there were areas of like parts/supplies/tools and you had to do a bit of digging. With these new cabinets I am going to have to be much more specific and label things because there are way too many drawers to look through just to find a random piece. I used to have one conex dedicated to tower parts and equipment, then there was a trailer that was mostly vehicle parts and random equipment parts, actual supplies stayed in the shop unless heat, cold, and damp wasn’t an issue. The current box trailer has almost nothing in it other than storage bins and shelves, a clean slate so to speak. My plan is to put things away as I organize it, not everything will be able to be in the same location as there are plenty of things that are far too large or too heavy for those new cabinets.

how long before we here "I need D rings on the trailer, that I cut off".

How do you keep track of everything, where every thing is? All the "suppllies" for the future builds you fill the the trailers with.
Be nice to have bin locations like they do in a warehouse, then when you can't find them you order more :)

I only have to deal with that bank once in a while, my main bank opens at 8:30 now and closes at 5, used to be 7:30AM. I find that dealing with sellers when they say early morning, that means between 9 and 10.

Finally getting started with my day, Mondays are usually a pain, but today I had a couple appointments already messing things up. I should be able to get the majority of the drawers installed in the new cabinets, then I have to load up some trash so I can bring the dump trailer back to the Hill and load yet more trash, then go to the dump tomorrow.

My pieces for the parts washer are all done, so I am going to pick that up on the way over to the SG, not sure when yet, I have several things that need to be done before I can escape. ;)

My buddy uses this app- https://totescan.com/

There are probably other similar apps that might be better suited to your needs. I imagine something like this would take a long time to set up but the time it would save in the long run would be incredible.

With the move off the Hill it is going to give me another bite at the apple as far as organizing. Even if these end up moving again, the effort to label/make searchable is definitely going to be worth it. My biggest issue is I like to get too specific and I need to be a bit more general. There are enough drawers here that I should be able to have a nice broad selection of pieces and parts stored away.

I am about halfway done with the drawers, the shelves need to be reassembled before they can go in so I am not touching them until I have all the drawers away. I am also going to try and get the drawers back into the Lista cabinet, the rollers need some love before I assemble it. Kroil on standby.

I don’t have the big bead blaster hear, the little one can’t create enough air, I may end up having the tire place do it if I can’t get the rim seated. When I go to the SG tomorrow I will bring it with me and try to get it seated. If I can’t, then off to the tire place.

If it leaks I could do that, but I have generally had good luck with these tires. I have them on Clark and they haven’t had any issues at all.

Have to do a bunch of errands this morning, this afternoon I want to try and get the school bus unloaded, the body needs to go to the scrap yard so no more storage space. Most of the stuff in there is Lista components that need to go to the Salvage Garage anyways. I have a somewhat plan, but I have to get the forklift wheel back together, don’t want to make too much of a mess all at once.

Luckily that was only a $20 lesson. I am going to do a couple more errands, then go pick it up. Should have the forklift back together. Now that it has functioning batteries, it won’t be a problem to move it around.

After I pick up the tire I am going to the dump to get the trailer unloaded. Then I told a buddy I would help him get a truck tonight, so the rest of the day is all but done.

Tomorrow I need to dig out trailers and stuff at the bottom of the Hill, that is going to be a good part of the day, maybe even all of it.

I haven't gotten anything done today, no way is my list getting completed now. I am still in the office, going to have lunch and try to accomplish something. My paperwork list just doubled, on top of that Dad is back to asking for info that I can't easily provide for him, he wants specifics on expenses that don't get specific and I don't have the time to rework the data. Three towers are going to get all new lighting and I have to have everything prepped for the crews. They need space on the wall to mount the equipment, the current backer boards are cluttered up with old stuff that I have to figure out what is live and what can go, the electrician has to bring in a new 20 amp circuit to a junction box. I also have a couple leases going on, need to get a locksmith to replace locks that we don't have keys for, Monday we have a company coming out to one of the camps to seal off the crawl space so we don't have the moisture issues we had last year, then there is the regular office work. My Stepmother has said I need to have all the office stuff out of the house and into the office by August 1st and our old insurance company wants info from me or we have to pay them an extra $3k, just typing all this is stressing me out. ;)

I already met with him once to discuss things, but the lighting company hadn’t given me the dimensions of the boxes yet, now that I know they are a lot bigger than the existing equipment, I have to get them laid out. Shouldn’t be too big of a deal, just need to get it done, luckily two of the sites are close by, the third is about an hour away.

I am not sure if I accomplished anything today, I can say that I tried, just doesn’t feel good enough.

Things are going to get interesting, a while back I went to one of the camps to change out some light fixtures, Dad doesn’t remember this. The other day when I was up there removing the Docks, I saw totally different can lights installed and could not figure out why. My Stepmother asked me about them and I told her it must have been Dad, I explained how I had already changed them out and didn’t know why they were changed again. Tonight Dad accused me of changing them, he said he hates them and that it needs to be fixed. I told him I had nothing to do with them and that I had changed the fixtures before that. He tells me he is going to call the electrician and find out why he changed his lights without his knowledge. I asked Dad point blank “what are you going to do when the electrician tells you that you directed him to change the lights out?” Dad tells me it doesn’t matter because he never told him to do it.

I talked to the electrician a little while ago and sure enough, Dad told him to do exactly what was done. I warned him that Dad would be calling him and essentially thinks that he never told anyone to change the lights.

This is going to be the first time that someone else is going to be involved in Dad’s memory problems, I fully expect him to twist it into something like it is a plot for me to make him think he is going crazy.

Also told him that I would be out of the Hill November 1st, so that is a thing now. ;)

This might actually turn out to be for the best... I'm assuming the electrician will have the invoice, and show payment received from him. Hard to argue with that!
Nov 1st... Hopefully you're not cutting off your nose in spite of yourself! I guess we'll get to see some heavy/big stuff moved, so that will be good for us! In the long run, that is probably a good move, but going to **** moving everything. Might be good to set some deadlines for certain items to get moved throughout the summer/fall.
Wishing you the best of luck on moving stuff.

Unfortunately, the electrician is someone we have used for years, he does things based on a phone call, nothing that Dad signed and the paperwork comes to me. I remember questioning the bill, but it was lumped in with several other invoices as I just figured the location was entered wrong, apparently not.

As for the move, I can’t trust Dad anymore and things are only going to get worse. With my Stepmother backing him, that doubles my future headaches, so I am transitioning out of things ASAP. It is already going to be a nightmare, there is going to be finger pointing and heated conversations for sure.

I have started making up a plan for moving things based on priority, I also have to continue selling and scrapping things, I would prefer to have stuff go directly to its final place rather than moving it twice. Lots of logistics for sure and there will be repairs that need to be done in order to get things functional and useful.

I brought Bev up to the Hill the other day to help load out stuff from the house, most of that stuff is either larger loose things or in boxes, Bev has a decent sized box that will protect stuff from rain while I load stuff and wind while I haul it back to the Salvage Garage. I have a lot of things that just need to be listed for sale, I just haven't gotten my a$$ in gear yet.

As you said, the easiest way to organize is to get rid of stuff. Good luck selling and scrapping...and the other 8 million things you have to do.

Typical day, my Brother bought a knuckle boom just for two hose reels, asked me if I wanted the valves, then it turned into I can have the boom. We were supposed to pick it up tomorrow, on my trailer, so I could bring it over to the Salvage Garage, nope.

Then the people installing the vapor barrier system at the camp tell me that they will have to leave an opening around all the duct work because it is too low. They are scheduled for Monday. :(
I told the guy that we will probably have to reschedule and that if I had asked hime if they would leave a hole in the center of the floor he would have told me no way, confused as to why it is ok now.

Ordered five things, ready to pick up, only three. But a case of red oxide primer, open it up and it is red OSHA paint. This world is coming undone, no one has any fucks to give about anything but themselves and their precious myopic world.
