Technically the burb is the 3/4 - 1 ton chassis, but I know it was not designed for this plow. It was on an F-350, but they have a much heavier duty chassis. Timbren makes some rubber things that you can add to the front suspension to keep it from compressing all the way. The burb is not ever going over the road, it is strictly for the Salvage Garage, so I suspect if it will lift it and move around, it will be fine. I won't be putting it on today, probably sometime next week.

I've used the Timbren's on the rear of a truck for towing, never had a reason to put them on the front. But, I did know guys with plow trucks when I lived in NY and they either ran those or the Sumo springs.

This is what I think is the best option.

Timbren for IFS
I've heard good reports about them. My Excursion was originally equipped with something similar in the rer and I was happy with the way they functioned. I eventually changed to air bags because I tow a variety of trailers with different tongue weights. The bags make it easy to adjust for each trailer. A consistent weight would probably be better served with the Timbrens.

Small confession, I have not made it entirely through the 580+ pages of this thread yet, I do some here and there. That M37, the orange truck, did you ever get around to working on it? Love that thing and wondered if I missed seeing that bit.

My phone says that it is 25 degrees, but my fingers are telling me different. I am just glad I am home, got to get a few things done, then eat some dinner, relax a bit (not going to chill, already cold), then I have to be up early to go and pick up the little clark forklift. Tomorrow is going to be a wild ride, got a lot that needs to be done before the rain sets in.

I got Perk's winch cable back together, had to remove a piece from the pulley so the cable can be removed without having to take the entire end off of it. I got everything so that I can pin everything together easily, this means the heavy hook can be disconnected and stowed away separately. I used to have to essentially lift the thing up over my head and get it hooked off to stow it on the boom. I am very excited about that, it probably weighs 70 pounds and when my shoulder was bugging me, it was all I could do to get it put away.

How's the oil tank and cleanup efforts going? Plus any forklift shenanigans?

Here in eastern South Dakota we had some fluffy snow, then 30+mph wind, then more snow and now down to a balmy 10F. Fortunately with it that cold, the ground is frozen, the snow is fairly "dry" and it's easy to clear snow with my snow dozer that's shown in my profile pic.

Out here, forklifts are much fewer in supply, and the ones that are available are too new and high priced for my self imposed budget.
My old clark yardlift 4024 is something I'd like to upgrade.... something newer with power steering, 3 stage mast (like, not need), pneumatic tires and not break the budget.

Anyway, hopefully your past days have been productive!

Okay, I just finished reading this entire thread from the beginning. Holy **** what a roller coaster! This is as close as I get to having any sort of social media account, so I have no way of really looking at Marketplace, and I am jealous of all the cool finds you have made. Best I have managed is free cabinets from someone remodeling their kitchen and I happened to see them sitting outside on the driveway. Craigslist has been useless for a while, but I still listed my toolbox there. Reminded me why I didn't like that site pretty fast.

There's some skips in time in reading through this thread. Did you ever get the Blurb sorted out, or did you shove it into a corner for another day? Saw the pics of brakes and exhaust repairs on the truck, did you ever put that aluminum service bed onto it or is that another back-burner project? I do also recall a green truck that already had a service bed on it, but didn't see it go away. Not being an ***, genuinely curious! I feel like I am invested at this point and I want to see how things turn out!

Since you are a glutton for punishment, there are a few more years of roller coaster rides (no pictures thanks to a photo bucket fiasco) in the original thread Something just clicked.

The Blurb is in a timeout, transmission is bad and there are still some electrical gremlins. The aluminum utility body is waiting for a new frame, soo much rusty.... The green one with the utility body is going to be parts for the white crew cab with the red dump body on it. I have a rust free body and will use the green utility body. Not sure if that truck will hand out or go away. I have had a bit of an attitude adjustment over the last several months and some of my priorities have shifted.

You've had elbow problems, so this might be a familiar picture for you. Have you done PRP injections? This is my second go-round and its not looking like it is going to work out.

I had one injection, it was only temporary relief, but I have mental issues that seem to eff with my body in a physical way so pain comes and goes in various locations. It keeps me on my toes, just when I think I have it figured out, new pain in a different location. If anyone has pain constantly and an open mind, you may look into John Sarno and his book The Mind Body Prescription. If you don't have an open mind, don't bother, it will really just be a waste of time.

I went and read the reviews on the book. Sounds interesting! I'll have to add it to my reading list.

I've read a number of "self help" books and much of it is about reprogramming our mind on how we process inputs and our reactions to life. Stress is basically the difference between what we expect things to be and the actual reality. Sounds over simplified, but it seems to be true when I apply that metric. I've gotten more aware of what pisses me off and then I ask myself, why am I reacting that way?. Acknowledging it and then moving forward in a more calm way. Also detaching a bit from the situation helps.
I do notice that much of my back pain stems from a stimulus of stress, and less about actual physical strain these days.

Anyhow, hopefully you have a good day planned!

Do a little research on psoriatic arthritis, I hear it moves around from joint to joint.
I can literally tell the pain to stop and it will, sometimes it will jump to another spot almost instantly, just depends on how gullible I am being. It took me many years to understand what was going on and sometimes it catches me off guard and other times I am actually hurt, can be tough to figure out what is happening. I would bet 75% of people would just think I am insane and I could share some stories that make me think I am insane. Basic premise is that you have something that is tough to deal with mentally and your brain has figured out how to distract you. Doctors will fix you with therapy, drugs, or surgery and it will either come back or move somewhere else. The main culprit is oxygen depravation and your brain can do this instantly by blood flow. Our minds are incredible machines, sometimes they are trying to help, but don’t realize how much damage they are actually doing in the process.

I fully believe in the power of Dr. Sarno. Healing Back Pain: The Mind-Body Connection has been an important book for me. For real.
