How in the world do you find these things?

Wokspaces above 1200 squarefeet.
Apparently my eyes have become super sensitive to cigarette smoke, the two guys were chain smoking, so an hour and a half of being around it has essentially gummed up my eyes. Of course I don’t have any eye drops or anything here. I am sure they were dry to start with, but I have not been around smoke in quite some time.
Got everything back to the Salvage Garage, no plan on where it is all going, definitely need to take things out in order to shuffle things around. The new CNC mill is going to be the worst thing, so I am going to try not to move it out.

Matsuura is officially gone, stripped it to 4540 pounds from about 7500, got a whopping $263...
Pulled off the counter weight, will be useful for something.
Glad it is gone, the HAAS VF-2 is in place and we powered it up and it did some functions, got error messages and started researching things. So far found one servo driver (amplifier?) card has a blown fuse along with a melted down resistor. I have a backup card, because there is actually an AUXILIARY axis! I also think that this has the ability to Rigid Tap, but not sure yet. I bought another mill that I have to pick up Sunday, why not, right?

Just spent the last two hours with my big hammer drill chiseling out the ice damn in front of the doors, water was starting to come under the door seal and with temps climbing it was going to turn into a mess. Wasn't what I intended on doing, but it had to be done, of course my back is not happy with me and is telling me to just go home, lazy MOFO, it can rest when I go to bed...
I bought four more cabinets, have to move some of the racking out of the trailer, but these will be nice rugged units, plus they have the tambour door to add a bit more protection for the stuff inside. Ultimately I would like them in the shop, but they were too tall for every location I wanted to put them. For now they will be fine in the trailer, will be able to organize things better than the mess of totes that are currently there.

What were the original purposes of the blue totes on the erector set shelving? Seems very specific and like they're tilted slightly. I love totes, they're great for antique car parts.
Those totes and carts were from a big machine shop, they put parts in them throughout production. I will not be using the carts as is, but you can buy pieces and parts to make about anything. I just got my samples from 80/20 and I will be messing with their online design tool to get some ideas. For now a few of them are getting broken down to make some space, might rework one of the larger ones to make it a bit more useful. Honestly, I wasn’t really sure why I bought them other than the guy packaged everything together at such a good price.

I wish it was, that was frightening, but fun at the same time.
Almost finished breaking down the roller rack things, new laser CNC mill is in the shop and unfortunately it appears that I may end up with a CNC laser welder and engraver too, should have just kept my mouth shut instead of lowballing.
I also found a CNC router that has a bad computer setup, might end up with that later this month. Snow and ice are melting, but we are supposed to get more Tuesday night, maybe 2-4".
I have also decided that I need a larger "small" forklift, the mast of the 13K Hyster won't fit in the doorway, but the 8K Hyster that does isn't rugged enough to really deal with things the way I would like. I need something 15k with at least 6 foot forks and side shift. I way have found one that almost fits the bill, going to have to take a road trip to look at it.

I am still working through some property tax issues, once I get that sorted out, I will at least move forward with the initial steps. I hope to be able to add a new building and leave the current one alone, if not, it will still be doable, but I will have to get another trailer or three...
Cold day today, luckily I am at the office, had a meeting that just got postponed, but I am going to finish up a bunch of paperwork and then start to create batches of my QR code labels, then I can print them up tomorrow when I am at the Salvage Garage, even going to use the label rewinder so I can have actual rolls of them, just have to remember to reverse order them before printing or I will have to roll them twice.

Yesterday turned into a total mess, I called the day early because of my back, Then the afternoon turned into more of a mess, had the Turnpike Division of the State Police leave a card at the office, contacted them and apparently one of our “company trucks” had lost a water tank while driving and it damaged another vehicle. As soon as they said the plate number I knew it was my Dad. Come to find out the water tank was an IBC tote and he didn’t strap it down, then he saw it come out, didn’t stop, and didn’t call the State Police. I had to open an insurance claim for the other driver and handle things for Dad.
I can say that my back feels better today and I see the chiropractor in a couple hours. No labels were created, maybe today, but losing half of yesterday is going to mess today up. It did snow last night and we all know how I feel about that.

Well that certainly wasn't a good call on your dad's part. Is he going to catch charges for that? He would be getting at least two if it happened in my area.

For moving your G800 out of the way?
I actually bought it to move all the boats around in the Quonset hut. It needs some batteries, but is essentially new. Dad says he is selling some boats, but then says he bought another one and is looking at still another one. This will be easier than trying to shuffle them by myself with the forklift or the pickup truck. Also it will allow me to get creative for storage, I could easily put trailers in creative positions since this needs almost no room to maneuver. It will move 10k pounds worth of trailer and load, after watching some of the videos it should make it easy to get more space in the Quonset hut. I am sure there will be other uses as well.

If you get new batteries and start moving trailers/boats, I think this will be one of your best purchases! For as much as you seem to need to shuffle stuff around, this seems to be a potential "friction remover".
Now I have a new CNC router, but no place to put it…
I need 8’ by 10’ to make it work, but I have not fully decided if it is going to literally be parts or if I am going to retrofit it. It is super rugged, but very weird, 5x5 table, but the table moves front to back and the router only moves side to side. So it takes up the same room as a 5 by 10 would, when moving, when parked it takes up less room.

Speaking of boats, your dad and loose loads.... Was your dad in California? According to repots the driver did not stop.
