Just to make Kev happy, I did some more research and found a camera that does everything I would like and is less expensive, yet still has most of the features the newest latest greatest has. I am buying used, still going to be over a grand, but not too much. So it will give me the ability to perform the job that I need to do to as well as time lapse, video, and slow motion video, plus it will transfer pictures to my tablet. I am almost ready to start working on the Lista Stack™®

I tried that, no worky. It was a nice picture, but I need to zoom in too much. Unfortunately the pictures have to be taken from certain locations and they are not optimum for an iPhone.

Talk about annoying, the company selling the camera I want, put it on hold so they could find out what the actuation count was (pictures taken) and now I can't buy it until tomorrow, even though they have released it. I just spent 30 minutes dicking around so I could order it and have it for tomorrow. I am a little mad.

I am working in the oven, er, conex, trying to get the three blue card file cabinets put away. Problem is the racking has an upright exactly where I need to put the cabinets, I just fixed that (read, cut and to fit), so now all I need to do is move the air conditioner, all I need to do to move that is move the stuff on the other side of the conex, I just have to figure out where to put that stuff, pretty simple, right?

I feel like cake, after it has been cooked in the oven. I am in the office trying to cool off a bit. My GF is working late, so I am on my own for dinner, probably gets something and eat it at the shop. The rest of the week looks like it will be cooler, glad for that.

I just had a V8. I am thinking about lunch, but I may just push a bit and have an early dinner. That way I can get some more work done as things cool off.

Sausage meat balls, spicy rice, can of corn... mixed together... put it in the oven... covered... damn that's good.

Iced coffee with thoughts of fresh strawberries for later...

I have NEVER had a V8 (drink)... or a Tuna Fish Sammy... pretty odd for someone my age.

I got the back wall tightened up so the welder fits in.

I had to put the air conditioner in the way of the door a bit, but it is too hot to care. Isn't that ironic?

I am headed to get food for dinner, figure I should beat traffic by doing it now. I am starting a mental list of things that will be sold, if I have time they go on craigslist, if not the fall auction is only a few months away.

These shelves and bins will probably be the first to go.

The all important food is out of the way, now to finish cleaning up the conex mess, then get started on the actual inside of the shop again.

Every where I go I go there is more stuff, this pallet rack is almost perfect for making a mezzanine over my toolbox.

I like the word mezzanine as much as stacking... To mezzanine is to stack with a gap. Gaps are great for stuff to stack... stuff to organize... space to fill in...

The key is to never put junk in your gap... it gets crusty and hard to keep clean.

Speaking of food... I'm having some chicken & waffles for dinner... instead of syrup... I'm going to cover it in lettuce... making it appear healthy.

I guess it really wouldn't be a mezzanine, because it is essentially a pallet rack, I am just going to customize it to fit the space. I will have to narrow the uprights and lengthen the braces. It will fit as is, but then the toolbox is almost stuck in there and I won't be able to use my nice wire mesh pallet rack decking. I was also thinking it might be time to build a small steel rack that will hold the steel behind the box a bit tighter to the wall, allowing me to push the box in further. I don't want to go too crazy as the plan is to redo the interior of the shop and then most of this will no longer be useful.

Of course I have to be honest with myself and I probably won't do the major overhaul for a year or more. So I guess I can spend a couple days to make my life easier for the next year.

This does look to have possibilities, although I'm not sure I agree with stacking listas. I guess I am on board with the idea if you could actually take all the stuff in the bins out of the conex and use it for other things than hardware storage.
I still am not sure why you feel the need to own more hardware than an Ace store though.

So, a used camera is a grand, the contractor cost is $1200 and you can sell your old camera for $1-200? Now that is how a small businessman is supposed to think. Some businessmen take it a step further and sell the newer camera for $800 too if they will not need one again for a year or two, then buy another 5 yo one down the road.

I think I have more supplies than home depot. :dunno:

As for the old camera, it is worth almost $25 on ebay. The new one will cost a tick under $1200, I don't mind breaking even when I can get something useful. After getting all the years of use out of the other one, I can safely say this one should last me a few more years. I will probably keep the other camera as a beater, it still works great for what it is, but being a 6 megapixel versus a 24 megapixel, it just doesn't allow for the amount of zooming I need. I have a teleconverter and a 300mm lens, but it still makes for a much too blurry picture. The other camera is also a full frame so it will take a better picture anyways, essential like a 35 mm film camera.

I guess I could label it.

I started laying out the pallet sections to see what will work to make the crates to hold all of the extra drawers. Apparently I underestimated, looks like there is 365" of drawers so I will need to make 7 crates to hold all of them. I guess I will be going to Lowes tomorrow to get some more wood. I think I am going to make tops for them as well as the sides, then I can tarp them once they are all stacked up. I just need to figure out the cheapest, I mean, best way to make them so they won't fall apart for a year outside if need be. Hopefully this year I will have another conex, then I can put them all inside instead of outside.

Would it not be easier to store the drawers in their respective cabinets until you decide you need them in a year or so? Stack the full cabinets and just tarp them and you don't have to buy wood to build crates to rot and throw away.

I think a wood wall and 3 joists would be simpler then modifying your pallet rack. Then put spacers between the drawers, strap them to a pallet and stick em on top.

I agree... you can stack the empty cabinets. Stack stack stack

I guess, then I have to put them all back together. It would save me a day of fabricating and some money. I had thought about this originally, but I was worried about something, that I can't remember now, so obviously it was important. I will still have to store some of the drawers, I ended up cutting two cabinets center dividers so I could play with the material, then there is the bent one, I failed at fixing. No matter what, I have to make some crates, it will be way easier to move them around and it condenses the drawers nicely. So if I am lucky, I will only need to make one crate, worst case two. I probably have enough scrap wood to do that.

I forget, it was discussed in the old thread, basically it holds more stuff. So yes, there is a moving trailer full of stuff, a conex full of stuff, two truck boxes full of stuff, and the office trailer full of stuff. There is more stuff floating around as well, the school bus has become suburban parts central. Then there is stuff outside, plus the stuff inside. I am sure I am missing some stuff. Is that a lot of stuff?

In preparation for the outside storage, I ordered a bunch of desiccant packets, they are rechargeable ones, so I can totally use them again, thought that would be a good idea. I will have to get some tarps that cover them entirely, so I will mess with the sizes and figure out what I need. I can probably put all of the cabinets on the gooseneck trailer for the time being, then they are up off the ground and covered.
