Two of them are definitely better than the other two, but according to everything I can find, they are totally legal to run. I know this means nothing in the scheme of things, but those MFers are over a grand each to replace. Looks like my Dad has some rims that may be usable, still not sure I am even keeping them, might send them to the auction at the end of the month.

I have been stuck in the office all morning, I hope to get out to the shop here soon. I did talk to the guy that will be coming over to work with me on the Quincy compressors, he thinks it will be next week, but he may have an opening this week. I also got some hits on the shelving I listed on craigslist, hopefully I can get that stuff sold. If it doesn't sell by next weekend, I am taking it to the auction as well.

I wouldn't feel bad about getting tires used Strouty, money saved is money saved. I mine craigslist for used tires all the time. Once you get to more than a couple of cars to maintain, your tire expenditures get to grow pretty fast.

Once I buy a tire machine, then used tires will become a much better deal. I have been eyeballing them on craigslist for a while. I want to get the stockroom done before I buy a tire machine. It looks like this fall and winter will be some good income, so I will be making a few purchases for sure.

It wouldn't help me on these tires, but in the future it will definitely be an asset for the little vehicles. My Dad confirmed he has two of the same size tires on rims, so now I need to go to his place to pick one at least one up, that way I can test fit to see if they will even work. Hopefully a bit of modification and some new rims will be all it takes. I think the truck will look awesome with these tires front and rear.

I cleaned out the flammables cabinet, made some more room, tossed some junk that never gets used. I could probably go through it one more time and eliminate even more, but I figure taking a break from it would yield better results another day. I do think I would like one more cabinet to keep the daily stuff in, then the big one would be for bulk or overflow storage. I moved several other things out of the shop, put some more stuff in the dumpster, then grabbed a bunch of broken and cracked plastic totes and buckets to take for recycling. I think when I come in tomorrow morning, the place will really feel like a "shop". Even with the messes that I have been making, things have not gotten messier, it is truly weird saying that, doesn't even make sense, but it is the only way I can explain it.

Good job purging and organizing. The shop is looking better each time you post pics.
One thing that I need to make is a fold up shelf that goes outside by the front door. I am always getting there with my hands full, then I have to put stuff on the ground to unlock the door. It needs to fold up for plowing, otherwise it will get ripped off the wall. I also need to make my awning, I have had the parts for a while now. Step by step, piece by piece.

I got the hydraulic lines taken off the pump and all the lines, including the ones I thought might be worth saving, are in the dumpster. The pump may get saved, but I think it will be better off in the scrap, the shaft is broken off the end and the case has some serious rust issues. I put it in the scrap bucket, hopefully it will stay there. I also took the welder and supplies off the last piece of stack rack, I am going to bring that to my Dad when I go over to get the tires.
Against my better judgement I am going to look at another type of binder for the office. If I can get it cheap, I can try it out, see if I like it or not. If I hate it, it would be a decent candidate for ebay. So only buying it if I can steal it. The seller has no price, just what it cost new, they are a small group and it was donated to them, so I figure if they are not using it, cash is better than the binder. We will see. Cross your fingers that they won't accept my offer!

I should have offered less, they accepted my offer and the binding machine is now home. I will be curious to see how it works, I am thinking about cutting some old manuals open so I can scan the documents then use the new binder to put them back together again.

Your efforts are futile if you keep bringing home strays that give you more work... but then again... what seems is there to do. I mean really... watching tv... lounging at the beach... enjoying a good book...
This stray will become an "office tool", I figure it is worth the effort, I should be able to recover my money and the time was almost negligible, it was 20 minutes from my Dad's shop and 5 minutes from one of the best burrito places around. All in all it took me probably 40 minutes to get there, buy it, and load it. Space should not be an issue, I have cleaned out so much of the office supply area that it should fit right in. There are a few of the binding supplies that I may list on ebay as they are a gold color and I would not use that for anything. Regardless, today was a good day, got a lot done, made more space, took up a bit of space, cleaned up a lot of stuff. Tomorrow someone is supposed to come look at the old stockroom shelving. I would love to see all that leave.

Definitely progress, it ***** when you have to spend dozens of hours to get things to some semblance of normal. I really hope that you can get to work on some projects. It uses up stuff in the way, and keeps you from shopping for more stuff.
My garage is now more cluttered, and that is a good thing.
I took the few things I wanted off the Buick and hauled it to scrap. Those things I kept would fit in a regular trash can, so no biggie, but I also have the wheels/tires and the catalytic converter, which need to leave pronto for cash. Supposed to meet a guy tomorrow and get $70 for the CC.
I wish I could say there is an improvement in the size of the fleet, but all that has happened is that is back to where it was 3 years ago, which is too many.

Cool binder... I'm a three ring kinda guy... used to build documentation for systems... always gave me an easy fix for changes etc...
It played with the binder a bit, pretty cool, but there is a learning curve. Some of the supplies were really cool hardcover books, except they were embossed with the name of the group I bought the binder from. I figured they I had nothing to lose by messing with those. From what I can see, if you get the paper lined up well, it is fine, but if you don’t pay attention, it will be an issue. Also the size of the binder and the number of pages need to be close or when you crimp it, it can cause issues too. I only used a small amount of paper, and the book needed probably double the paper, so when I crimped it, it crushed the paper right out of the resin.
It also does regular clear presentation covers, lots of other cool things too. The supplies are expensive up front, 100 clear covers are like $150, but when you look at it individually, it isn’t terrible. $1.50 for the binder and front and rear clear covers is not too far off what I pay for the stuff that I use and these things are much higher quality. A hard cover book is about $8, eBay seems to have deals on them here and there. The machine costs $1400 and this was new just no box. There was easily another $800 of supplies not including the embossed book covers. I paid $200 for all of it.

Thanks 1/2 cup, I hope to keep making progress over this week. Next step is outside, that area is a real mess, I did clean up a bunch of the things that were floating around the front of the conex and storage trailers. The wire pile needs to be dealt with as well as another load (hopefully the last) of scrap.
This morning I showed my GF the book binder thingy and she was so excited, she want to use it too. I figured she may like it, but she was giving me cool ideas about things to do with it.
Someone is coming to look at the old stockroom shelves this afternoon, so I am going to work on the outside of the shop for a bit. I would prefer it be at least presentable.

I almost spit my drink all over my keyboard....
I am headed to meet up with the guy coming to look at the shelves. Sounds like he is buying them as he drove with truck and trailer. Hopefully he will buy the bins too. I may even be able to get him interested in more stuff. I am such an enabler!!

CB, I actually started saving all the tower/boot pictures, I have more to sort, but they are all in one file. I thought it could be a cool coffee table book.

I feel like a lot was done today, going to have to get pictures tomorrow, darkness has won out. I hope to have more things put away, the dumpster is supposed to get emptied, so I can start to refill it. I may have help in the afternoon, so I am going to try and take advantage of it for sure.
