I leave for a little while and you guys are already naming my new apartment complex.

No real news on the Hill, looking like it may either never happen or be delayed substantially. :(

How many tiny houses can you hang on a tower? With global warming, people are going to need to move up. Lol.

I keep thinking about all the pretty candles on the tower when it gets hit by lightning. It’ll be just like a blinking x-mas tree.
Prrrrreeeeeeeettttttttttyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Strouty, Dude, you know if you're not here, the natives run wild. Just how many trucks do you have now? And are you ready for the white stuff?

This truck is a motor, maybe a few other parts, but not a runner, at least that has been the thought so far, I will let you know when things change. ;)

Well the way things are going right now, I may end up using OMO as parts, between the weight limitations imposed on me by the state and the fact that I am having trouble finding a suitable transmission for a reasonable price, it might make sense.

Regardless, it is clear that I will not have an operational truck for a while.

Truck arrived fine, sounds like it may have an injector misfire at idle, but other than that it is great. I will say that the engine is huge, I mean really big, like it may be a squeeze to get it into Perk, length isn’t too bad, but it is seriously tall. Now that I have an FL106 near enough to a FL70, it is clear that they raised not only the hood, but also the cab, even with this, the oil pan is still really low. I like a challenge, so it should be lots of fun, sarcasm intended. With Thanksgiving coming up and all the BS going on, I may take the week off and work on cleaning up the rest of my ****, then maybe I can get some things done that need to get done.

Come on down to Strouty's truck lot. We aren't a normal truck lot. No you won't leave here with a truck, you will leave without one. We are buying them cheap and stacking them deep.

Alright, now I am at a cross roads, still in limbo with the Hill, need to decide if a pause is smart or if I should be moving forward like I had been. Still have a bit of outside areas to clean up, also thinking I should turn the new FL106 in a 1/4 truck like the other ford. Would be easier to store, but right now it is driving and if I do move, I could drive it to the new space if needed. It is really easy to cut it, but a lot harder to put it back together, so maybe leave it alone for now. As I am typing this, I just realized it would be perfect to set the flatbed from out front on, then both are mobile. I guess that answers my own question.

Ignore the Hill until it’s a certainty. You’re only being strung along at the moment. It will take time for your dad (and the wife) to fully come around.
Concentrate on the SG.
What you have now, needs your attention.
What you MAY have tomorrow, can wait.

It seems obvious, but damn is it hard to do that.

Tomorrow is supposed to be crappy, so I would like to get the OGMC in and ready to do some tinkering on it. Then it still needs front end work, but I have to take it to the off road shop to have them take a look, I have no idea what the suspension manufacturer was, so hopefully they have a solution, the upper control arms are all worn out.

Agree let some time pass with dad and his lady. Don't want to say be in their face quietly... but ...be present so they have you in their mind.

Get your current ground prepped FULLY and stage that work you mentioned. Don't get vectored.

Put a label on something.

I need to get the inside of the shop cleaned up enough to get the OGMC in, I think I have most everything that I will need parts wise, except the glow plug wiring harness, if I need that, then I will have to order it and wait until after turkey day. The worst part is my daily driver, the maroon burb, needs the same repairs, but I am not touching it until I have fixed the other one, removing the old glow plugs can be a huge issue, like the other black one that I have three that I could not remove without taking the exhaust manifold off. :(

Sadly, I will say the FL106 starts hard cold and smokes until it warms up, also has at least one injector that is having issues at idle. I may try and fix everything while it is still in the truck, then I can have it "perfect" before swapping into Perk.

Detroit 50 series 4 cylinder and it is monstrous. It is taller, wider, just as long, and heavier than the L10 cummins that is currently in the truck.

Detroit 2200 pounds 315 HP, 1125 ft/lbs torque

L10 1950 pounds 300 HP, 900 ft/lbs torque

Reassessment:

Shop is too stuffed to do what I need to do on the OGMC, so I am going to work on getting a few smaller projects done, ones that will allow me to take stuff out of the shop. OGMC will have to wait until Monday. I was just going to put stuff outside, but then I thought, I will only have to pull it back in later and deal with it while being even more frustrated. Eating dinner now, but should have a couple hours to work on things tonight, tomorrow I have almost half the day that I will be able to do some more work. It makes more sense, just need to stick with it.

What about building a single bay at the current shop that is tall enough to get your big trucks in and continue as needed on your quest for the Holy Grail there and when you get the go ahead to go to the Hill, work on it, fix it up etc before you move your stuff in as others have suggested. It seems from what you have said that the Hill is not move in ready either in the shop or the house, so pouring your stuff in as soon as possible would slow you down and make it more than annoying to work on the place. I know this because that is what I had to do to get into my place and 7 years later there still too many things to list that need done to it.
Then you'd only be moving what you want to keep and maybe have some of the vehicles running vs moving a bunch of yard ornaments multiple times. Again, I was and am in the same boat, so I know how it goes. We bought a new house recently and I am now in the works of moving some of the extras that have been in the shop to the new house so I can actually work on stuff in the shop.
