I am halfway there, I figured I would be at TH until about dark, I have maybe 45 minutes worth of work to do and then I am ready to head to SG. I waved all the guy wire spools outside to the concrete slab, started sorting some of the big stuff to make more room, I can see a bunch of **** that just needs to go away. Also the pallet racking that is in there *****, it needs some wire decking, then maybe it would be a bit better, some of it is really deep and seems more like a waste of space. This is all the stuff that I plan on making better for both Dad’s storage needs and my sanity. I have also found some bad things being stored that need to go, there are two 55 gallon drums almost full of ballasts, lots of old barrels with who knows what in them, and other things that will need to go to the proper disposal location. I have his dump trailer loaded with a bunch of misc **** to take to the dump tomorrow.

I actually had time to run over and get Dad's Freightliner today, so everything is put away in the quonset hut at TH, will be good enough for now, but in the spring, I will be doing a major cleanup/overhaul of the space. There is so much wasted space it isn't even funny, nothing like having 5000 square feet that is misused.

I am at the SG now, changing the tires on the maroon burb, just had to double check torque specs on the lug nuts, should be done with that soon, then I can fix the lights on the plow. After that I may do a couple other quick things, but I don't want to be here all night.

I could be making all this up while sitting on the couch watching soap operas and eating bonbons.

One truck done, next one is inside, need to figure out the quickest way to get the headlights wired, no need to was time or effort on this thing, of course it would be nice to have some sort of plug for the lights, that freaking perfectionist part of me.......

It was all that I could think of.

I have figured out the lights, there will be a plug, it will look ugly, but it will work.

Here is the proof, not of the bonbons.

I only have something like 250 lista drawers. ;)

Tomorrow I am bringing some of the trash from TH, then I am going to use the trailer to haul a load of scrap steel. I also hope to start working on the OGMC, need to get truck up on the lift and pull brake lines.

.

That still would have been more than I did today. After sitting on the back steps for 4 hours with the shotgun on my lap, waiting for the fox that kept killing chickens and attacking the duck (yes he showed up, yes he died of a 12 gauge lead emema); my big activity for today was switching from coffee to beer.

Then I woke up...

I am working on cutting these bars off, they were supposed to be used to test something from 20 years ago, they are always in the way and I don’t know why they haven’t been hacked off, seems like everyone is too lazy to do things that matter.

6fa9cc9ae3e999b09e9cb3885364adaa.jpg

After that I am headed to the dump, then back to start loading some scrap steel. I am pretty wiped out from the last week, so I will probably call it an early day today rather than starting anything else. I have lots of office work to do, going to spend a couple days concentrating on that, with a smattering of other projects.

As you can see they have been bumped before.

Got the dump trailer almost completely emptied, there was some wet foam that froze to the trailer and I could not get it out.

I was just telling my buddy, I think with two shops I am actually being more productive. It doesn’t even make sense, I guess it could be about the space that I now have? I know waiting on help or parts would screw me up, but now I have three bays to use between the two shops and lots more space. Having my commute cut in half is awesome too, next step will be no commute, that will be nearly unbelievable.

I am taking the rest of today off, I just need to relax a bit, my left arm is complaining from overuse and my back is still not 100% so I think this is a good time to take a break.

Well I lied. I had to go drop of my GJSS package at the post office, that took me halfway across town, then I remembered I had a check in my backpack for the place that rebuilt the rams for the Mitsu, so I decided I would pick those up, then on my way out my Snap On driver texting me, asking if I was going to be at the SG today, I figured might as well since I am only ten minutes away at this point. So now I am at the shop, unloading rams, loading up supplies for the OGMC and all my recycling that has to go out. Kind of glad I did come over, I forgot about the suburban chassis that needs to be moved before the next snow, then I can gather up a few more things that will be useful at TH. Also the Snap On driver will help me remove the hood from the FL106 sitting in the shop, I figure that is a win win situation. On top of all this, my vise and bearing kit for the Ellis miter bandsaw arrived, that makes two new vises in less than two weeks, I hope this isn't a trend??? I do owe you guys some pictures of the round stock vise, it is a thing of beauty!

I think we should start a thread "Show us your VICES", I wonder how long it would last? ;)

Got the outside stuff done just as darkness was setting in, still need to yank off the fork extensions, supposed to fix them, but all I have done is bring them in the shop four times, then taken them out to use them on the forklift as is four times. I guess this makes five times, maybe I should just fix them??? :)

Not 100% sure how I want to remove the hood, was thinking of cutting the hinges, but now that I have help, I am going to make an attempt to unbolt things. Need to cage the rear brakes too, then I can roll the truck around if needed.

Raise your hand if you have been arrested for taking one of your vices too far... :rocker: :pimpflash

My issue with working out of two locations is tools... I don't carry enough in my "go bag" to do any "vehicle work"... or "metal work"... I would get frustrated in the middle of a project if I needed a belt puller or something and it's at the other shop.

Ha !
I once shot the same groundhog 7 times over 7 days with a 22.
He kept crawling away and disappearing, only to show up in the garden the next day.
5yrs later, we pulled a car out of the barn that had been sitting for a decade ............ only to find 7 groundhog skeletons underneath.
LOL

(Wistful sigh)
I still have that gun.
1934 Winchester Long, Long, Short, bolt action. My grandfather got it as a birthday present when he was 10.

I don't know about the last part, but having two spaces is going to be a hassle for now, the only saving grace is that I already have lots of duplicates, as well as Dad's old tool box is up there and it is full of tools mostly HF, but there are some older craftsman tools. I think I can make do for now, the specialty stuff is what is going to kill me, I know I am working on the brake lines and fuel lines of the OGMC, so I grabbed everything that I can think of, except you always forget something.

I sprayed the FL106 with some of that "hood'B'gone" spray and it worked!

Every time I use his tools, something breaks, I remember the screwdriver that I twisted the handle off instead of getting the screw undone.

I just ate dinner, now I am going to head up to TH, need to unload the maroon burb and want to try and get the OGMC lifted off the ground, will make me feel better knowing what I have to do to use the 2 post lift. I have help on Thursday night, going to be working on the brake lines and fuel lines. At some point soon I need to work on the maroon burb, power steering lines are leaking bad, and the power steering runs the brakes too, kind of important.

My 22lr has a bad magazine, new one is on order, and it was dark and I didn't want to miss. He was a mangy looking *******.

Shot a groundhog with my 45-70 guide gun and he vanished too literally.

Several years back the chickens went nuts at around 3am. I grabbed the shotgun and ran out the back door, and found a possum going after the baby chicks. I fired and the entire front half of the possum vanished. I forgot I had put 3 inch magnum buckshot in it. I was thinking it still had birdshot.
