The logs that are fresh are being sawn, the logs that are rotted from sitting there for ten years are being junked. It will become more apparent when I get the log loader running.

Just a personal note on the C-19. After that great laugh I just had (waffle stomp , I want you guys to be safe, so I can have more laughs. I had a rough day Thursday. I was in a virtual meeting and the boss went around the "room" asking how we were doing. He got to a good friend/coworker and she broke down when she told us that she lost a friend this past week to C-19.

Yep. I'm not saying go nuts, just be smart. This is real and needs to be taken seriously, even in Maine. And I'm still chuckling over the waffle stomp.

Right now people in Maine are taking it half seriously, once it actually starts to hit us, then I think things will be different. Last I checked we were well under 500 cases, but Mass and NY are not that far away, so it will get here. At least people have been preparing, except the state has listed almost every business out there as "essential", so the only things that have truly closed are hair and nail salons, gyms, tanning, municipalities, and schools. If you want Wendy's spicy nuggets, not only are they open, but you are allowed to drive to get them. I definitely feel overwhelmed, my Dad thinks the C-19 is a joke, doesn't give too shits about it, he is driving around to pick up supplies and doesn't even think about the consequences.

Today I am at TH and will try and get something done so I can feel better about the mess. Next week may be a different situation since the Employee is no longer going to be here, regardless, things have been a mess up here for far too long. With everything that is going on, I need to keep somewhat focused, the plan is to start by cleaning, as I go, I will be putting like with like and trying to make some headway.

That's the problem with C-19, by the time it becomes a problem, it's too late. You can go a long time without showing symptoms. That's the problem here in Michigan, we were too slow on the draw. Drive-thru's are still open here.

Bought a new Milwaukee M18 bare tool and it shows up obviously as a returned tool, someone screwed up the threads on the part that counts, waiting for response from seller, but will most likely buy another one so I don't have too much of a delay. Worst part, I was planning on using it tomorrow, really annoying.

Sorry, should have realized not everyone was a tool nut.

I found out the problem, so I can use the tool, but it is really weird. The tool is a 7” polisher, it has a 5/8 -11 thread, the backing pad that it arrived with is not that.




There is no part number on the backing pad, luckily my corded Makita uses the 5/8 - 11, so I am highjacking that so I can actually use the new cordless tool. You can see where the previous owner (of my NEW tool) had really tried to make it fit, almost looks like they took a file to the threads on the polisher too, as long as the seller gives a good discount I will keep it, otherwise they can have it back.

You need some whiteboard duct tape for all those labels if things might change. It seems like all parents aren't taking this seriously. Had to get my siblings to all yell at my parents to stay home. I threatened to go disable their cars.

Ordering packages is stressful now too. Have to clean them off or let them sit for a while before you can open them. Wish I had a garage to leave them in. I might just throw them in my trunk now so the kids don't touch them.

That one drawer is empty. At this point I am only going to use the tape, I don't want to go crazy until I really know what is going in each drawer. It is clear I need a lot more drawers, not sure where I will ever find them?????

The other thing I did, again, is I left the plug for the knuckle boom connected, so the batteries are down to 10 volts. I need to get that circuit setup so it only works with the key on, that way if I forget to disconnect it, it can't do that, third time is the charm?

Tomorrow I want to try and remove the rest of the lettering, so I am getting things prepped today. It is so nice outside, but I have such a mess inside, wish I could have been dealing with the mess the last couple days instead of office work, it was raining like crazy then.

It has a 5/8-11 spindle nose, but the backer has a 14 mm metric hole and is so marked M14.

Working on getting the door latches off Perk, was pretty straight forward until the lock mechanism fell down, then I figured I would “just” remove the inner panel and fix it. Well every screw on the bottom snapped off, then there are about 20 screws all around the perimeter and it is stuck on with some sort of sealant tape. I have to remove it anyways so I can add the wiring for the power and heated mirrors, but now I know it will not be a quick and easy project. Seems like that is the way everything I do goes, better luck next project, maybe.

I see why the screws on the bottom broke, they are steel screws in the aluminum door, plus they actually break through to the outside of the door, worst possible scenario for dissimilar metals. I will need to mess around, removing the remains is going to be a PITA and take a lot longer than I would like.

Hopefully, Dad remembers the guy is gone... and doesn't call him to come in. I've seen that happen.

Also fired a guy once, who kept coming to work... trying to get work sheets to go do jobs... had to change the whole procedure to prevent easy access to the job sheets.

Got the log loader to the top of the hill, no brakes, so we have to be a bit careful with it. Lost the door hinges, so we had to remove the drivers door, makes for a quicker retreat.

Dad has been working on the sawmill and I have been helping as needed, unfortunately I can see that anytime he is up here to do any work, I will have to be around, he doesn’t know where any tools are. In fact, this morning he spent 30 minutes messing around because he said there was no power at the sawmill, except he didn’t know how to turn on the battery charger. Dad was concerned we would be babysitting my cousin, in reality my cousin is babysitting my Dad.

Sorry to hear that xtreme, I know this thing is hitting Detroit very hard. None of my co-workers have been hit yet, but it's probably coming. We're more on the edge, in AA.
On a bright note, my insistence to live out in the boonies doesn't make me look quite so kooky anymore...
