They can from amazon, they seem decent, but only some time on a rainy day will tell for sure. I will post some more info on them when I get back to the project.

I am picking it up this afternoon, will post some pics of it then.

Monopole is like a giant flag pole, they use them instead of towers for cellular, most of the time because some idiot thinks they blend into the skyline better. In reality they reflect more light than a tower and are generally more of a visual menace, they also **** for future expansion since you can’t easily bolt things to them. They also **** to climb.

Over at the SG now, getting a few things that I need for the Hill, also need the trailer to get the pressure washer and I figured might as well fill up the fuel/gas cans.

I have been looking at car carrier trailers, found a couple that seem decent, I would like to be able to haul at least three burbs and still have room for parts. I am thinking about possible hauling cars as a way to pay for my trips to pick up my own purchases. I don’t want to get into too big a trailer, just one that makes it worth the effort of going out and picking things up. I also found a 4 place car carrier truck, the truck itself burned, but the entire rolling chassis is available, it was a 2012 and looks like it is in really good shape, could be a great truck, just not sure if it is what I want.

On another note, looks like I have a tower to take down and dispose of, will be a great paying job and should allow me to use some of my equipment to actually make money. Best part is that it is local. The deal should be finalized in the next two weeks.

In a financial sense yes, other than that, no. It is the tower that is on the family property that the huge company owned, the one I beat a couple years ago. ;)

They are paying us to take it off their hands, I have been working on this for a while and just agreed on how much they are paying us. I will be making a good chunk of change, it will allow me to get some bills paid and buy parts to finish some other projects.

As for the future, I still haven’t decided what I want to do when I grow up, was thinking that I really liked the idea of retirement, it looks fun. :)

Just got the pressure washer unloaded, power went out, so I won’t be able to use it due to lack of water pressure to feed it. Sorry the pic is kind of crappy, no lights.

It needs some work, previous owner wasn’t too “handy” when it came to doing things right. I think the wheel kit is about to fall off, the battery box is floating, the fuel tank is not bolted down, and a couple lines are leaking water. Everything works, so for $500 it was a great start for a 5GPM and 3000 PSI unit. It didn’t come with the sprayer, but the one from my other pressure washer fit it just fine.

You are the most optimistic optimist ever. I look at the pressure washer and think, I would not take that homemade, ridden hard and put to bed wet ************* if someone paid me $500. You buy it for $500, know that it needs work, and are totally excited for it. That is one of the reasons I love this thread!

Thanks, I guess? ;)

The way I look at it, there is no way I could buy the parts for $500, let alone build one. At the SG it will be nice to have an engine driven unit, although it does need a power supply, the burner draws 5.5 amps, so I may be able to come up with an inverter or something.

I am seriously thinking that 1000 watt inverter and a belt driven DC alternator with a larger deep cycle battery would be the best solution. The Briggs 16 HP only puts out like 10 amps for charging, maybe it would keep up if I used a couple batteries, further investigation is needed. I found a 2900 watt belt driven generator that would probably work, this would be nice, it would allow for plugging in other things too.

It’s a compliment. I don’t insult anyone on the internet, or in real life. Life is too short for that nonsense.

Strouty.

I think it is the coolest that you can just up and decide to shorten a truck, change an engine, add an articulated arm (not sure what the name is for that thing) etc.

I am always in awe of what you can do. You are never afraid to forge ahead and just do it, pick up the pieces later as needed.

It's people like you and so many others on this forum who have built and continue to build this great nation.

Thanks S&A, but I am more about taking things apart then putting them back together. I can’t think of one project that I have actually finished in the last few years. :(

That pressure washer you bought sure looks ugly. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
I think you and 86turbodsi grew up watching MacGyver and the A-Team. You two have amazing talents!

Everybody keeps picking on my pressure washer, it is a skid mount unit with a wheel kit, the new version doesn’t look much different. I think the wheels are what makes it look wrong, the rest is just cosmetics.

If it works, it's good. if not, its ugly junk. you decide. it's a balance how much stuff you have time to work on to make it work/pretty.

It’s not really yours unless you’ve stripped it down and you know how it works.

Ugly is what people call the tools they see in your collection just before they realize that they need/want to ask to borrow them. When they work as designed, they are beauty incarnate.

I will make sure to pretty it up a bit. Going to make it skid mount with a lifting eye. I will most likely add the generator at some point, for now I will try an inverter and larger capacity battery.

I messed with the 318 tonight, the starter is junk. In order to change the starter, you essentially need to remove the engine. :(

I feel like I am waiting for paint to dry, but in reality, I am waiting for the mail to be delivered and it is painful. Luckily I have some paperwork to do, so not a total waste. Also I ordered the coolant overflow or degas tank for the F-550, should be here tomorrow. Then I can attempt to get that up and running so I can use the scan tool to see what temperatures the engine is actually reaching since Ford decided to just put idiot gauges that just say hot or cold.

I bought a service manual when I got my 318, and as silly as it is, its saved me from taking apart a few things I didn't need to. Might be worth a look Strouty. Mines a paper copy, but I think you can get them online if that works better.

I will look for one, but from what I can see, there isn’t much that can be done to remove the starter without getting the engine tilted. Also I read two web pages discussing how to do it, both said essentially the same thing. I am going to see if there are any videos too.

Fully operational, they put new belts in it, I didn’t think it was too bad for $200. ;)

I may flip it, but if it will mix concrete, it is worth keeping for sure. If not, it is worth flipping for sure. Either way I don’t think I am going to get hurt spending $200 on it. On top of that, it was three miles from the SG, so almost no wasted time.

Hey, mortar mixer lives matter, the worst thing about all this stuff going on is that now if I want to watch the Dukes of Hazard, I am going to be labeled forever.

My GF came over to the SG this afternoon, we had planned on pulling out the large bench and bringing it to the house at TH, but holy ****, the bench was so heavy that there was no way she and I were getting it out, let alone get it loaded on a trailer. Unfortunately the way the trailer was parked, Clark can’t even get to the back to pick the bench up. At some point I will have to bring Perk over so I can move things around, then I can get the bench out. It is looking much better, still need to do a deep clean, some paint, and the floor needs some attention, but I still feel I will be able to either make some money on the trailer or use it for storage long term, either way it is a win for me as far as I am concerned. I have said this before and I am sure I will say it again, the trailer was a way to prove that Perk was capable of doing what I intended, plus it was practice for the future.

Cement mixer and pressure washer. Sounds like you are planning on cleaning up a murder.

Before I got the trailer, it was clear someone was sleeping, no, most likely living in there. They drank lots of vodka, found about six empty handles of the cheap stuff. I had to toss the mattress outside, it smelt like mouse piss, taking it out made the entire trailer smell better.
