He's just trying to see how many of us he can get to leave and never come back. That way he has less people bitching at him about A/C and Burbs and family.

The producers made me type it, they were looking for more drama, soap opera ratings have been all over the place.

to be a proper soap opera drama plot one of the following will have to happen:

1) you come out of the closet and admit you are really a Yugo car lover
2) we find out you were switched at birth and are really the heir to a cosmetics empire
3) you peel back the photos and show us that those 'Burbs are really Ford Explorers

THis is a great way to get my day back on track. Thanks for the good chuckles. FWIW, I think Strouty and Uncle Willie are cornering the market on the only good survival vehicles so that when the democrats start shooting the Republicans with their secret stash of automatic weapons, everyone will be coming to them for bug out vehicles.

I Understand Construction begins on new cell phone towers near Palisades Parkway, in NY.

I have two with tailgates, technically only one has the actual tailgate and even that is rotted pretty well.

I have been dreaming of building a couple vehicles that can handle an EM Pulse attack, I figure that would be better when the $hit really hits the fan.

I have been dreaming of building monster dual engine driven weedeater heads and mounting them on the front of the burb and driving down to a riot. I guarantee when those things start whirling the crowds will part.

My friend John Fitch before he died designed an end of the world survival vehicle, MB produced a few in the last few years partly based on his input. John was the only American driver to race for MB. They sent him a new car every few years.
If I can find any details will let you know.
We had some interesting discussions about his design.

I am thinking diesel engine with no computer, like the 6.2 brother of my 6.5 in the burbs. That would be all mechanical and should survive the pulse.

I way have spoken too soon on that burb dream, Sunday could be a day of reckoning, won't know until it is too late. ;)

I did end up buying a little dump trailer today, I was the first one to get to it, seller definitely underpriced it but honored the price. I think he could have come close to double what I paid for it, made my day as I had been looking for a little single axle one, will need some paint and tinkering, but it works and isn't full of rust holes. I need to get the bigger one emptied out and get it listed and sold, might even be able to cover the cost of the new one, well, come close at least.

I forgot to add, the possible addition of one of these "dream" suburbans would make another one become "for sale" and rather quickly too.

You guys will be happy to know that any new burbs will be running and driving with AC (I hope). ;) No rusty junk, but a few dents should be expected.

It would have to have breaker points, so earlier.

I was thinking HEI came out in early to mid-70's. Didn't even think Electronic ignition came out much before that. But yes, it would have to be breaker points. And I didn't think diesel either.

You do realize what you just typed there right????

Didn't you know this is all a Democratic conspiracy to distract you from their real agenda to take over the South Pole?

I was trying to be silly like everyone else. Guess I missed that mark, by a ton.

"Burb" may be the word, but I am absolutely certain it is not the answer.
Blasphemy XJ! Straight up Blasphemy!
Strouty walks into a crowded room. "Hi, I'm Strouty, and PROUDLY Says (as he should) I'm a Burbaholic."
Fixed that for you Kay!:)!
In this crowd I feel like a slacker I've only owned 5 Burbs a '76, "77 (2500 4x4 with SM465 and a NP205 with a 14 bolt full floater 23000 original miles and rust where the body used to be:() a '79 and an '80 and the 1999 that I leased with a payment bigger than my mortgage.
Harry P.S................................Now I need a Suburban [pouty face emoji here]

No stacker yet, this scheme involves AAA and my Cousin’s house in Massachusetts.

LOL.

Good thing it's Massachusetts and not Arkansas, you might have to marry your cousin if the plan involved Arkansas. Of course, that would be legal there too...

I'm not going to make any snide comment about you buying more 'Burbs.

I just bought 3 more pairs of vintage pliers to add to the other 90 or so.

I also got another vintage body hammer that needs the face refinished and a new handle. To add to the 20-40 that are already in various stages of restoration.

I sold one of the flatbed bodies and I need to get it out, they are picking it up at noon today, next will be listing the other ones. Also going to list the bigger dump trailer.

Great start!

Progress comes in many forms.

For me, it always amazes me when I clear something off my to do-plate and I can now see an open space in my world. That feeling you get when you do the dishes that piled up in the sink is the same as straightening the contents of the garage or the workbench top. The mere sight and weight of "less".

It is very freeing.

It's like a small spot is also now open in my mind. A free space that allows me to start a project that I felt too overwhelmed begin before, too buried under "stuff".

Loaded the Mitsu and so far so good, I am not sure what will happen if I need to take off on a big hill, I think the truck may not have enough motor with the higher gears. :(

As for where the Suburbans are in New York, over towards Binghamton, not quite that far, but in that general area.

My phone reminded me I have a Doctors appointment so I had to bail on the Mitsu transport for today, probably do it Monday. I really need to concentrate on getting things ready for Sunday. Changed out the boost control solenoid in the burb, hopefully that is the issue, if not I will need to do some more testing, but I am 80% sure that was the issue. Fingers crossed. ;)
