Yeah, I am not really interested in melting lead or any other scrap material, it was one of those “would be cool” thoughts. The one thing I would like to own is a wire granulator, that would be awesome and make me some money too.

I am shuffling things from the shop to the house, there are lots of things that need to have a temporary home, once the Lista storage wall arrives, then I should have plenty of space for everything to be in the shop (hopefully).

I have packed up one of Dad’s tool boxes, I am getting it ready to be moved, hopefully I can get help with that next week. The second smaller box may be easier to deal with by myself using Clark, I will have to see, might unload the top completely and move it like that for safety reasons.

Now I have to figure out how to move the HF cabinets, the top cabinet doesn’t even come close to the lip of the lower cabinet. I would have thought they wouldn’t want it to be able to shift, when I tried to pull it out from the wall, the top cabinet slid sideways a couple inches, kind of made me nervous.

I am not going to tackle it today, I feel it is a two man job to make sure it doesn’t tip over.

:dunno:Maybe ratchet strap over top and under length wise then two straps over/under front to back. Put plywood on the back and front to make it sturdier.

Ron, that was what I was thinking, I did get the keys, so the drawers are locked, but the linkage is messed up, so the top is not locked, hopefully it will work as planned.

X, the craftsman isn't much better, so I am waiting for help before I move either of them. I did get the area around them cleaned up, need to unload some junk from the top cabinet of small box, but other than that I should be able to deal with them reasonably safely.

I got a ton of stuff shuffled, still have another five tons to go! I am starting to get excited about the new Lista Storage wall, I mean more excited...... Seeing those tool boxes moved out of the way is just great, they had been stuck there and it sounded like it would be a permanent thing.

The thing I did not tackle today was the water lines, I need to get them all cut out, but there is more stuff that needs to be moved before I have full access to them. I think I can make that happen tomorrow. After that I am ready for a scrap run.

I'm pretty sure those top boxes and bottom cabinets should already have holes drilled to bolt them together. The design was originally for theft protection so two people can't lift off the top box and walk away as happened to me once.

When I have to move a toolbox by myself, I usually pull out all the drawers so I can move the empty box and the drawers separately. You may still need a helper to do that on the Harbor Freight box as the drawers are so long.

I will have to take a look for extra holes, that would be good. As for removing the drawers, I don’t want to do that, I have access to a ramp truck, so the plan is to winch it on and off. I still have to be careful, it is not the widest most stable box out there, especially with the top box.

Several layers of Shrink wrap is a great way to go. You can include the 2x4 or plywood in the wrap as mentioned. Forklift sounds smart or.....

A couple plane tickets, Craig and I will come move those and some Listas while you kickback and take a nap.

I was driving around the other day and I thought of that POS Astro and it made me chuckle. I hope that guy is driving the wheels off it!

Haven’t been here for awhile so trying to check in and see what’s new. Sounds like more moving of tools and boxes, more Listas and talk of more Burbs and fork lifts. What else did I miss?
Hope all else is well.

Bob, I am happy to report there are no new forklifts, the old ones haven't left yet, but scrap prices are rising, so they will need to go soon. One burb from Jersey and another from Maine total is holding at 13 for the burbs..... Ordered new lista storage wall for the Hill, should be ready to pick up early May, can't wait for that. I am sure there are other things, but nothing important......... ;)

Trying to finish up the job from last year, so far so good, they actually want to add a few more things to the project.

It is an octagonal tapered monument, kind of cool thing. The framework on the top is just sitting up there, it was never bolted down, we added a ladder piece and bolted it to the concrete so it can’t move around. All we were doing is setting up a camera so the local TV station can have a live camera of the harbor. The concrete is only 43’ high, so it is actually a small structure for what we usually deal with.

Unfortunately we don’t always look at the backdrop, I have a couple from last year when we removed the old equipment, but they are just incidental pictures while looking at the equipment mounts.

There are some UAV systems that can be set up to track you while you are underway, whether on foot, the road, the waves, or even the ski slopes!

This might be the start of StroutyTV.com!!

I showed up at the Hill this morning only to find that another section of metal roof had ripped up and there was now a bunch of water inside. :(

Had to dig out Buck and some supplies, but I got it done. My back was already killing me from that stupid ladder the other day (I knew I shouldn't have agreed to move it by hand with my Brother), now my back feels absolutely fabulous.....

I will post the pictures at some point, seems tapatalk is having a fit.

After some effort, lots of screws and a bit of flashing tape.
