Yup it does, headed over there soon, so my fingers are crossed that it will start. I was going to rebuild everything, but my Brother convinced me not to, then he wanted the truck back, now who knows what is going to happen to the truck, it has been stored at my place for a couple years since he wanted it back. Now he pretty much says he doesn't care about it, either way, the knuckle boom is mine and I had planned on installing it onto Pane, the GMC propane truck (yes another one!). Ultimately I need a dependable yard truck and it may mean I have to essentially build one from all my parts. It needs to have a fifth wheel, heavy pintle, gooseneck, regular receiver hitch, and should be air ride, that way I can dump the air to help with hooking up to trailers. Then I need the knuckle boom and probably a winch, it should also be four wheel drive just to make it easier to get around when the yard is sloppy.

It is a Ford. It works on a very simple principle. It does whatever it takes to make your life a difficult as possible.
Normally I would agree, but seriously, other than this one issue, the thing works very well and I have had only little issues here and there. I really need to decide what I am doing and just do it, I will have the IHI track crane over to the Salvage Garage soon, so it will be used for almost everything. I do still need to be able to shuffle trailers around, right now I have to bring Perk over just to do that. I think the next couple weeks will be a blur, I want to really concentrate on getting things sold and to the auction if they don't sell. I need the space more than I need the stuff right now. I am also looking at scaling back some of my projects as it is clear that I will probably never get to them.

In a past life, I owned a boat dealership and I had a truck with a front hitch and a tractor to shuffle boats and trailers all around the yard. A friend of mine that was a masonry contractor told me I needed a skid steer to take care of all my trailer yard shuffling duties. I told him that there was no way a skid steer could do what I needed it to do. He dropped off his machine and said give it a try for a week. By the end of the week I was shopping for a skid steer. I bought an ex-rental machine from Iron Planet and never looked back. I replaced my first skid steer with a new tracked version of the same machine 2 years ago. I work solo 99% of the time and my skid steer is like having another person. I cannot imagine not having my skid steer.
I have very adverse feelings about skid steers, let’s just say that I hate them as much as they hate me. If I could find a reasonably priced one that had side entry, I might consider it, but I am not interested in climbing over the front of a machine to try and get into a tiny cab, then have to flip down the roller coaster safety bar. I also know that I only own three trailers that a normal skid steer will move, if I bought a big one, I might be able to move half my trailers, but there is no way a skid steer would move all my trailers, especially the ones with air brakes. They are great machines for lots of people, I am just not one of those people.

As for the vapor, how do you equalize things? It has never done this before when it just runs out, but it definitely does it if you actually stall it, after that you might be able to start it after 5 hours, I just usually leave it over night. Still annoying.

I know nothing, like less than nothing on propane converted Fords, but it must be a purge problem. Once the tank runs low/ out you need to fill the lines.

I think your decision to scale back is smart. Make the plan and stick to it. My plan has not changed. My wife's plan for me has changed radically.

Maybe crack the line after the vaporizer, check to see if it has a plate stacked filter, they get rust between the plates.

I am researching that now, it is an SAE 3 bellhousing, they made them for GM products, just not sure if it is a wise decision. The original engine has like five hits on google, so I think finding another one is unlikely. It is a Waukesha VRD22A diesel, looks like a yanmar, Cummins 4bt, or a Perkins would be a straight forward swap, but not a cheap option. The forklift is an TCI 525B, it is four wheel drive and has a 5000 pound capacity with a lot of lift, 22’.

Remember this from earlier this week? How does a major forklift project fit with your current goals?
It looks like a cool and handy forklift.... but it also looks like a ton of work and time that you don't seem to have.
With the forklift, it is not a "current" project, it will be a future one hanging over my head for a long time, I will have to duck, but I will enjoy it......
What I paid for it, I can flip it as parts and scrap pretty easily and make money, so if the hunt for an engine turns into a nightmare, then I can send it packing.

The biggest issue here is always finding justification for things that just put you behind, whether its now or later down the road.
I've been there and it's such a weight taken off to stop doing that and stick with a plan of getting rid of stuff instead of acquiring it. I feel so proud walking away from things I wanted vs needed if I go to an auction for one or two things I actually do have a current need for or have been looking for that great deal that's hard to come by.

To be fair, I sold one trailer, I think the generator is sold, I am sending another trailer to the auction, the C-70 crane is probably going to the auction, and there is a list of about ten other things that are going. In the scheme of things, this shouldn't be too bad.
So I am still moving forward, just had a small step backwards, I may also get the thing back to the SG and just list it for sale with a decent price tag and see if it moves. I am thinking that sticking a GM engine in it might not be too bad, I would have to fabricate a front crank hydraulic pump setup, but that is not a huge deal, I actually have a decent pump that came off the front crank of Perk, that was designed to run a forklift assembly. I agree that ideally I would drop all projects except maybe two or three and just get them done, then decide what I want to do next. I am working through my list of stuff figuring out what needs to be done, I am also trying to be realistic with the time that it is going to take to get it done.
