Yea, that would be a great vise I saw one like that last year at a sale and it was around $800.
Mine is only around 4" I'm going to try to sell it at the yard sale next week. I got a couple ARs to sell also.

That is a "little" vise.The rotobin that I thought was missing the bearings, well the previous owner must have never had them, there are so many shelves, that it appears they were stacked one on top of another, he did make some spacers out of PVC pipe to raise a couple up. I am not sure how well it will work that way once loaded, so I will probably still source new ones and make it right.
The weather is not at all like they said it was going to be, so I made arrangements to go over to the Lady's house and start on the removal of stuff, going to get the vise today, most likely won't be able to move after that, but what the heck, it is a nice vise.

What are your plans for the barber chair?
Well, I guess I got into things and time went by the wayside, 2.5 hours of sorting through stuff. I have at least 500 pounds of scrap steel just from hardware and miscellaneous ****. There is a lot of tools, mostly junk, but I have found some gems, so I need to do a quick pass through all the hand tools to make sure I don't get rid of some nice stuff. The guy that owned all this stuff was a Harley mechanic and there is quit a bit of stuff that I am sure would have been worth holding onto, but without part numbers or any idea of what they are, I would just be chasing my tail. I saved anything that was packaged or had PNs on it, figured that would be worth the effort.

It looks like some decent stuff in there.
Out of all that stuff, the vise and the trash can we’re the only things that I actually wanted, the other stuff that I wanted is still in her basement, looks like Saturday I am going to be there to help out, but there will be multiple people that will also help me move things, so I get free labor, at least to help load things.
Shorty, I have seen one of those trucks in action, definitely a cool truck.
Dennis, there were quite a few different wiring harnesses, unfortunately not all are labeled, but I figured I would still be able to sell them. Hopefully there will be similar ones that have part numbers.

I'd think that it would be collectable just for the obvious age of both the wire and the label. 
Now I got roped in to bringing the camper to the auction. Going to try and get that delivered on Wednesday. I definitely want it gone, it won’t be worth anything if we store it another winter.
I have picked out several things from the Quonset hut to go to the auction as well, I still need to get my **** over to the SG so I can deal with the scrap steel, might not make it to the scrap yard today, but I want to try and get things all loaded up.

Motivation has left the building…..
I think the last few weeks have just zapped my forward momentum, been thinking about winter far too much, everything has taken way longer than expected, and my help has been few and far between. Was supposed to have help tonight, but not sure if that is going to happen, this morning the roofing crew was supposed to be onsite for the shop at the Hill, kind of like last week, no show. The only good thing is the temps look like they are going down after this week and it should help a bit with my motivation. I am also struggling with making decisions, essentially I have over complicated almost everything that is going on right now, that is one reason it was actually fun to deal with the basement clean out, as there wasn’t a good way to overthink things. I need to rework my thinking process to that mindset with everything that I am doing right now. The tough part is that it feels like I am giving up on things rather than delaying them, if that even makes sense. No matter what it is definitely in my head as I know I am actually getting things done, just not the things I want to get done.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. Take a day off, take a week or two off. Your stuff will still be there when you get back.

I think that is a good plan,
like you I try to run every scenario and build in every option so I dont have to go back and do it again. I want it once and done and the best possible version when I'm done with it.

Tonight turned out pretty well, my buddy showed up about 7PM and we went over to the SG, he definitely wants the blue gooseneck trailer, so that solves one thing, we also got all the scrap loaded into the trailer, at least the light iron stuff, there is plenty of number one for another trip or two. Looks like he will be helping me out on Sunday and he should be taking the trailer too, that is bitter sweet as I am currently storing all kinds of stuff on it, stuff that has to go somewhere else now.
I had originally planned on building the pallet rack to store this stuff, but I need to dig out the sand and replace it with gravel (and level things up) before I want to assemble things, maybe I can build one bay if it, will have to investigate this option. Tomorrow afternoon I am going to take the first load of things over to the auction, at least that will be a start to getting rid of things.

The implicit problem with doing "perfect life" planning is that it is built on assumptions you may not even yourself be aware of, not to mention that the actuality of life is changing even while your are planning. Then once you are finished doing your perfect design, life just laughs at you - "Silly Planner". In the future you look back and think "Why would I ever have assumed THAT?"
The key element is to be flexible, and I do see Strouty is trying to design his equipment with that in mind.

I agree with that to a point, I started a project several years ago, finishing an unfinished basement. I made a plan and installed wiring and cables for any future upgrades, once I put the cieling in the basement pulling wires would be close to impossible. The project was stopped due to my health but now I'm back at it. My first task was to remove the rg6 cables and replace them with cat6, plan all you want but something will inevitably change your plans.

The act of planning is what helps us uncover what needs to be done, supplies needed, etc, which is the helpful side of things. Having a rigid plan is not helpful, as there are unseen items that always disrupt that plan.
By doing the effort of planning, we have the knowledge to then adjust when these disruptions happen, then we can adjust the plan by some additional planning, and then continue forward.
Essentially having a rough framework due to the planning activity helps us move forward.
I would suggest that Strouty try to focus his efforts on 3 main themes, and then do planning around those main themes. Other items that don't fit to the main themes then stay out of the planning.

Geebus, your lots all have to be at least 500???? And they get ~15% of the take right? They must think pretty highly of their time.
They said since they were short staffed it wasn't something they wanted to get into. I know the guy that used to handle all the smalls, he left after finding out that they were messing with his hours (yes, in a bad way), I have never seen them do anything really bad, but I have to take his side. It also sounds like this may be the last auction like this for a bit as the location they use is being sold for development and finding another spot may be tough.
Most of my smalls are usually under $100, I make it up in volume, I generally do have a few things that will bring more money, but it is hit or miss, I have always "cost averaged" the sales and generally it works out, this one is going to be a one item auction, so we will see, might be better just to haul the trailer to the scrap yard.
