We are not in a situation to add any towers, 5G is more about a mesh system, so it will be micro sites on light poles and buildings but tons of them. They use the towers as the hubs, so they are still relevant, at least for now.

Got the company trucks registered, then I got the waste oil furnace functioning again, for some reason it wouldn’t fire the other day, reset it and it worked, go figure. Once it works, it usually stays working for the heating season, fingers crossed. I am cleaning things up in the shop, I am supposed to have help today, if so, I need to get the water system back together, not upgrading at this point, too risky to tear everything completely apart while I am still not up to 100%.

Over at the SG, working on Guido, trying to get the brakes unstuck so I don’t have an issue again. It was the lining that fell off the shoe, like I had figured.

I definitely did too much today, going to sleep in tomorrow, I got home at 8:30 tonight, was at the Hill at 7:30 this morning, so about a 13 hour day. Got most things I wanted to done, it was very warm today, so it was nice.

Yesterday was a take it easy day, today may be a bit rougher, have help again, going to try and get a bunch of little things done. The guy working on the office broke his tibia, so he won’t be around for a while, definitely won’t be done this year.

Yesterday afternoon I had a coughing fit and my head was pounding like before, but I think it was because I hadn't taken any cough medicine and I was starting to get dehydrated. I was fine by about 7 and this morning I feel fine, except I am out of cough medicine, so I may get some more this morning.

I am meeting with one of my Cousins, he is going to remove the sand from the back/side of the SG and replace it with gravel. This should help immensely, I have been stuck with trucks and forklifts far too many times due to the sand. I also want to try and get the pallet racking up along the back of the shop (not immediately), I need the gravel in place before I could do this, so it should make that possible as well. I figure if I layout the railroad ties and get things situated, then it doesn't matter if it snows, the base will be established.

We also got the ramp truck going again, so I am going to test that out, have to shuffle a couple burbs to the SG from the Hill, then I need to shuffle the dead ones around at the SG to get better prepped for winter. I haven't totally figured out my winter plans yet, but I feel like I can get things to a decent point by this weekend, they are actually calling for some snow on Friday, but I suspect it won't be anything significant, fingers crossed.

Strouty, it may be nothing but it could be the after-effect of a bout with COVID-19. More than a few people recovered quickly but developed long-term issues. No need to do anything unless the symptom persists. Our daughter-in-law still has taste and smell loss six months after recovering from a relatively mild case. My advice is worth less than 2¢ and I haven't been near a Holiday Inn Express in years.

I didn't even have allergies until I hit 40, then it was like this smorgasbord of stuff, I wasn't happy.

Today is very cold compared to the last few days, I am adding an extra layer to try and keep warm, also using my Milwaukee M12 heated sweatshirt as the blue burb doesn't have enough heat to keep up. I want to fix that ASAP, but it probably won't be until this weekend, luckily the weather is supposed to warm up again (relatively speaking), so I should be OK after tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the day we dig the sand out (hopefully nothing changes schedule wise), that will be a huge upgrade that has been a long time coming. I may bring the army dump truck over so I can really get to the back area, not sure how much slime the rain created. Anyways, I have to do a couple errands, then I am going to the SG to get stuff shuffled around so there is room to get the sand out of the way. I have a feeling the cold air is going to feel brutal when I take a deep breath.

I am bolting the uprights to railroad ties, should be fine after that, just need to level them to each other.

The blue burb never comes up to temperature, it is either stuck thermostats or no thermostats, I will find out tonight, I can't think of any other reason for it to run at 160 degrees.

I had to start Bev and the F-700 knuckle boom, both started fine, they are warming up now. Next I need to get a battery for the Gray Jersey burb, then it will start and move on its own again. Plan is to shuffle things around to make as much room as possible to work on the sandy area. I will grab some pictures, it will be pretty obvious.

Probably somebody crutching a bad radiator with a 160F thermostat. I'd think it'd run cooler than that without one. Fun fact - cylinder wall wear goes up as a square on decreasing temperature. 195-200 is the bottom of the curve.

Got the back yard at the SG squared away, ready for sand removal. Have to move a few bits of scrap in the morning, plan is to bring the dump trailer over.

The guy just brought me some "packing sand" (it has some clay in it) and it didn't deform that much after I ran the tractor over it a few times. The starting depth was roughly 3' and the truck was a lead hauling 20yds a load. The sand indented about 1/2" when he backed into the hole.

This stuff that I am getting packs really well, it is also less than $10 a yard and it has a mix of rock and sand, but it isn’t really “gravel”. It is perfect for what I am doing and my Cousin can probably haul 25 yards depending on what trailer he uses.

Today got ruined by the blue Burb leaving me stranded. It started sputtering, then I had no power. Acted like I was running out of fuel, gauge said half tank, but I couldn’t say for sure it was working. I could hear the lift pump (fuel pump), so it seemed to be working. even had the sound like it was picking up fuel, it would change pitch. Anyways, I crawled down the highway should at 20 MPH for the last four miles during rush hour. I got to the parking lot just off the highway, called for backup, then did some investigating, the fuel filter bowl has a drain off the bottom so you can get any water or junk out easier. When I cracked that with the engine running, it stalled out and no fuel came out. I could still hear the lift pump, so I figured the gauge was wrong and I was out of fuel. So when backup arrived, we got a bunch of tools and some fuel and when I added fuel, it started back up, at this point I checked for fuel flow out of the filter housing and it was flowing fine. This made me think I either had run out of fuel, or the lift pump doesn’t run properly when it gets hot. Took the Burb to the closest fuel station, the tank only took 22.4 gallons and it is a 42 gallon tank, so fuel pump it is.

My ex-wife's 1999 yukon had to have the fuel pump replaced twice in five years.

I've never worked on a diesel pickup other than my superduty.
I wasnt sure where the lift pump was.
Mine is in the frame right under the drivers feet, I had to change the water sensor last year
