Want some of my mud. I will even deliver. We have red clay, and wet it is like greasy. You can be sitting on top of it in 4wd, not sinking, and all 4 tires spinning.

We got the S word yesterday, and today it was still 10*F at 10am. Too dang cold to be outside, but it's nice and warm in the shop.
Didn't really get anything done that felt productive, I did do a bit of paperwork tonight that will help me out next week. I have to do some errands in the morning, but after that I should be doing something that feels more productive....
I also have to order more chains for the Muv-All and add some new tie down points, there just isn't enough flexibility to chain things down the way I feel they should be, especially the Mitsu.

Yes.
I ordered a bunch of new chains last night, should open up my options for holding things to the Muv-All. I have to make some new chain setups with various hooks, should be a good mix, then I am going to get them tagged so they can also be used for lifting purposes as well as binding loads to the trailer.
This week looks like it will be warmer, couple that with more usable daylight and I may actually get a few things done.

I am adding more D-Rings too, the I will still need more chains depending on what I haul. I am going to see what D-Rings will work best for the Muv-All today. As for the military trailer, it is sitting in someone else's yard in Connecticut. I am thinking about going to pick it up this week, along with some of the buckets and parts for the loader.
I plan on going to NY to get the other loader, (runs, but transmission is broken), but I want to make sure the weather will be decent.

It is not my trailer ...rented from Sunbelt rental but it actually lowers to the ground.

Those rental trailers are worth their weight in gold. I wouldn't build one when you can buy used and get the job done. Save your fabbie dollars for stuff you can't buy. I rented a 10K one for the lathe move. Michigan Cat, rental was ~ $150 for 2 days. Can't beat that.

The rental on the green one was $79 for 24 hours but only had it for 8 hours, made it so I didn't need to rent a forklift at the house to unload the mill. Definitely the way to go if you don't have a forklift ..... I had one I used at the pickup point.

I went and talked to the trailer parts place, I actually bought a rebuild kit for the landing gear on the Muv-All, but it appears there is more than just the gearbox rebuild. The landing gear doesn’t go up all the way and it could be a couple of other problems, both involve more time and more money. Also need to weld new feet onto the bottom of these legs The parts that I know I need are about $500, then there are the unknown parts, those could be another $150 or so. New set of landing gear is just over a grand, I think that is the smartest way for me to go right now. I really don’t have time to mess with this too much, saving $350 to $400 right now isn’t worth wasting a day tearing things apart and then most likely waiting for parts. The new, in stock, landing gear is 3” longer, that is going to make it a bit tight, but I think with a bit of moving things around it will work.
I just got an email that the spring auction will be local and live. I think I will hold out for that with at least one of my trailers, it worked out last time and I am willing to gamble a bit. I will probably try and list the more road ready one for sale and see what happens, if it sells, great, if not, off to the auction.

I think that's a good call on the landing gear, then everything is new.
I knew I was going to spend some money on this trailer, but it is adding up quicker than I expected, only good thing is that it will be around for a long while, so it is a worthy investment. I just bought $700 worth of weld on D-Rings for the chains and I still can't use my 1/2" grade 100 chains, the hooks won't fit through the ring. I am going to have to deal with just the 3/8" grade 100 chains, the 1/2" stuff will be used for the Tru-Hitch and regular rigging, so none of it will go to waste. Tomorrow I will get the landing gear and then order all the tires and rims, for now I am just ordering four new steel rims, but I will end up with all new tires. I can use all the current tires for the other trailer, kind of like getting two upgrades for the price of one.

Put a rated shackle on the D-ring, and use your hooks with the 1/2” chain.

The hooks on the chain won't fit through the D-Ring (too large), I might be able to use a shackle, but honestly, the size I need would look pretty funky and probably call attention to the load more than anything else. I would need 7.5 ton WLL on the shackle, a 1" shackle has 8.5 ton WLL. I am going to try and figure out some other way to make things work, if I use a piece of chain that has a hook only on one end, it may be viable. Technically the 3/8" chains will meet my needs anyways, but I would like to have my options open, I never really know what I will be hauling.

Expedience is often worth a lot more than money. I'd say good call on the landing gear. Is it worth setting aside to rebuild and use on another trailer at a later date? Or just broom it?
It may be worth it, I can get all the parts for it with no problems, so I will probably keep it around for the time being, there was a cutoff of May 1st, 1994 for the production date and this one was just after that. I have a couple others that are the earlier version and I probably won't mess with those. I think I am probably going to upgrade all the trailers that I am keeping to the same landing gear, this way parts will be the same and I can learn one rebuild process and not have to learn several.

I like that way of thinking. That way, you can rebuild a spare set sometime in the future, so all you have to do when one fails is swap it out, and rebuild the failed one at your convenience.
Might be that simple, might not be, each trailer may have different length jacks, I haven't gotten that far yet. I am changing out the ones on the Muv-All for a more common size, so I may be able to do that, I just don't know for sure yet. Even if they aren't the same external dimensions, the parts that go bad, are the same and that will make things simpler in the long run. Usually the 2 speed gear box ends up going bad and you lose high range, so it takes forever to run the feet up or down, you can literally wear your self out cranking 10" of travel, especially on the older ones, they are already harder to move due to the old grease.
