Everything was selling really well, right up until my trailers. :(

I am now not doing well and only one item to go.

At least they are gone, but I would have been better off selling the black deck over on my own, it only brought $1300. Overall I am not too bad, but about $2k under where I wanted to be, hopefully my last item will do better, but I doubt it.
Although money is a necessity, I think you will be better off overall being rid of the potential hassles and time **** of selling the trailers yourself. I shouldn't ask, but did you encumber yourself with anything new from the auction?

I bought two tires for a total of $60. I did bid on a couple things, but prices were too much for me. Overall I got about $5000 after fees, Not unhappy, but my number was $6500 and I usually am either on the money or low, so it is a bit disappointing. I agree that things are gone and that I would have had a lot of extra work to sell them on Marketplace locally. It is a one and done type of deal, luckily the smaller things did more money than expected, a little easier to swallow the end result. If I had just brought the three trailers, I would probably be in a bit of a funk though.

Nothing is simple right now, I can't find anything, I moved a lot of stuff around when we setup the big Lista cabinet, so now I have to find things by searching a bit, the drawers are labeled, I just can't remember what cabinet the stuff is in. I need to figure out what the heck I am doing and get these cabinets installed.
Man, i so identify with this statement....

Only my trailers went for cheap. :(

Last night I found out I was going to be able to get 1500 yards (80 loads) of fill, I was scrambling this morning trying to make access points and be ready, then it got put on hold for at least a week or two. It may end up being less than that now, but there should still be a good amount. I like free fill, especially delivered.

Sandy gravel with a touch of loamy mix, perfect for filling in the hole behind the shop at the Hill. The last couple feet will be good gravel, the hole could probably eat 750 yards, maybe more.

Number one unprepared scrap steel is at $210 a ton, a lot better than the last time I brought some in. I guess number one copper is over $4 a pound right now.

I am going to relocate some trees through the witness relocation program, when I get done, no one will recognize them ever again.

You lucky dog. I have to pay for every shovelful I get. I could use another 5-600 yards of fill.

That is why I am jumping at getting everything ready for all the material, it wasn’t planned this way, but it is worth the disruption for sure.

I just moved the Sterling with the big knuckle boom down to the bottom of the Hill, I didn’t have any brakes on it, so I went slow, didn’t want it to overpower Perk, no issues and now the area up top is completely cleared out, well of vehicles, I have to work on the rotting log pile next.

You can get all the concrete from the veranda street bridge project, might have some rebar in it :)

This project is off state street, I would imagine that stuff is already spoken for.

Been working on clearing and chipping trees, my Brother is coming over with his excavator, it has a grapple and we will load all the wood and chip the rest of the branches. I have moved the log pile twice, still have more pieces to grab, just had too many things in the way to finish.

Just got done with the day, probably another full day to get just the trees done.

A big tree branch fell on top of the Mitsu, was stuck through the hoses, had to cut it into three pieces and still took two people to get it out.

I thought this was a cool night shot, the lights are from my Brother's excavator, he was loading firewood logs for his processor.

Some of those look like they were good logs back in the day.

WAY, WAY back in the day. What a waste of good lumber and trees.

Murdering mother nature.
It is only fair, she beats me up with snow every year.

Nice. What's your chainsaw lineup look like?
All I have is an M18 chainsaw, my Brother has essentially every size Stihl makes.

He has already started composting a new pile, plus I now have to "save" any logs that he can saw, so those can rot too. I figure he saws one out of five, might even be one out of four, but it is a pretty low percentage for sure.

Today was a pain, in my back, got pretty much everything done. My Brother left me his grapple excavator for another day, so I am going to try and move some more stuff around. I didn’t really get much for pictures, we have been none stop.

Today I am going to try and get the scrap steel out of the way, as well as a load of trash started. With the possibility of rain tomorrow, I would prefer to do this now and stay dry, then I can be running equipment in the rain. I will post some updated pictures when I get to the Hill, still have a mess, but it is starting to take shape.

I took a load in last week and it was $385/mt. Do all the conversions and it comes out to $272 per US short ton.

It made me wish that I had kept my big loads that I scrapped in 2020 and waited until now. I only got $140/160 for them back then.

I just called. It's 190USD/ton here. I think it's extremely variable depending on where you're at and the competition.

The hard part is getting Dad to let go of things. I have no issue saving my fair share of stuff, but this is to the extreme. He has been a bit better, but I still prefer to not have him involved, I just get rid of the unimportant stuff and hope he doesn’t remember something was important at one time.

I got rid of the easy stuff, now I am going to have to move equipment around so I can start working on the harder to get to stuff, plus some of it is heavier than I want to manhandle. I also now have a bunch of trash that I am going to have to deal with, it will take longer than I would like, but in the end it will be worth it.
