I will keep picking at it, I need to address the steering, I am not sure if it is just the steering box or a combination of other parts. It just doesn't go down the road the way I would like. I suspect it is the steering box 350k is a lot of driving. Probably start by replacing all the steering components, then the box if that doesn't solve it. I can't seem to find a decent rebuilt unit, a couple companies offer new boxes, so I will probably go that way and see how it works out.

Fed Ex dropped off almost everything, I guess one package is still not here yet, now I can go back to the Hill, unload the alcoas for the black tilt trailer and then hook up to the small dump trailer and actually start my day. I am also going to fill the tank back up, I want to get an accurate mileage on this next tank, 75 mile with that leak isn't exactly accurate. Lets go Blurb!

Got the rims and tires ready so I can take them over to the tire place tomorrow morning. I have about 15 minutes to go before I will be hooking up to the little dump trailer, then I will head to the SG, looks like I will get my day started at about 4pm, not too bad.

I have had the same issue with fuel pumps. Twice and both were AC Delco pumps. I use Model year 93 pumps as they have slightly more pressure

I have heard that about the 1993, do you have a part number?

This is the first one I have had do this, so it is a new to me problem. I intend to have a kit to travel with me, it will include a lift pump, pmd, fuel filter, and the tools to swap them. Seems like those are the cause of 75% of the issues with the 6.5s.

I am definitely hitting a wall, my body and my brain are not the same age, or my body just has a few more wear and tear issues. I am determined to at least get the shelving started, plus I need to look at the doors and see if I can create some heavy loading sections.

First hurdle, the step portion of the front of the trailer doesn't jive with the racking, I have to cut down two of the uprights by 1 7/8", that should allow it to be level across to the next upright on the lower main floor.

As for the doors, it looks like a couple will line up well, but I don't have a lot of flexibility due to the stepped upper deck. I can shuffle things as I go, for now getting the racks up is the main goal.

I have to make some feet up, there is no easy way to just cut the legs without adding bracing, the cut ends up in the middle of a bunch of large openings. My scrap bin has shown me the way, but it isn’t as quick as I wanted it to be, is it ever? At this point, I will be lucky if I can get the feet done tonight. Oh well, it is just how things go.

Once again, it is 9 PM and I am still at the SG, going to head home, progress was halted before I wanted to, went and got an ice cream with my GF and her mother. I guess it is Mother's Day, so it worked out fine.

Tomorrow I should have help, going to try and get some things done, rather than just keep moving the mess to the next day.....

I got all the 17.5 tires and alcoas loaded, along with recycling. I am going to hit Home Depot and Lowes in the morning, then drop off the tires and rims, then drop off the recycling. Then my day can start all over again.

I hope so Ron, I think the next couple days are going to be spent fixing some key pieces of equipment. I dropped off the 17.5s, they should be mounted today, of course the new lug nuts aren't here yet.

We did get the air bags for the Muv-All, but there is a bunch of stuff that needs to be cut out before I want to replace them. Also have to get the shocks out so we can match them up and get some new ones. I had ordered all new lights for the trailer, but apparently the seller neglected to tell me they were almost all on back order. Now I need to call and find out what the anticipated wait is. Not sure it will matter, seems like everyone is out of stock of everything these days. I have to get smaller quantities from multiple suppliers to get everything I need.

Still working on the Muv-All trailer, we decided to do several things all at once, so, of course it is taking longer than anticipated. So far we have the air bags out, the shocks out, we cut several of the damaged cross members out, now we are working on getting the list of what we need so we can try and add emergency brakes to both axles. Things are going smoothly, I am hopeful that we will have the trailer completed this week. Then I can once again move heavy things.........

The only thing we couldn't get was the last four air hoses, but this is only because we don't know what the length is going to be, they don't exist yet since there were no emergency brakes on the trailer before. I don't expect these to be an issue, even if they are out of stock, they will probably only be a day away. I really didn't get any pictures, I seem to let that slide when things are moving along. The Muv-All is all torn apart, ready to go pack together, still need to figure out the hinges for the middle panels, having them on hinges is going to be awesome for future work. The shocks were the original ones from 1995, the air bags had been replaced before at least once. I also setup the cable spool so that I can pull out the new winch cable, having the 1/2" cable is going to be much easier to deal with, especially since the winch isn't a super heavy duty one. I do need to start getting things figured out for the hydraulics, I want to make the trailer fully remote control, but still have manual levers as a backup, things like that make all the difference.

Overall it was a good day, I for sure over anticipated what was going to get done, even so, it was a productive day. Wednesday I have help again, tomorrow I need to help Dad out a bit, he is trying to drill some holes in some rocks, something for the dock project, I think they anchor the floats? I don't know, I just know he needs a bunch of stuff from the quonset hut and I have a lot of things in his way, plus the forklift doesn't have a battery in it yet. I may do a few things tonight, but I am exhausted and would like to try and get some sleep tonight, 4:45 AM will be here before I know it.

I am already starting to get used to be up before 5, I hate that, but I can get some things done. Scrap (light iron) load was $68 and change, not hardly worth the effort, but better than paying to get rid of it. Now I have to get ready to load Dad, he needs the compressor and it is in the back of the Quonset hut, so I have to shuffle a few things. Good thing is, I am getting closer to the point where I won’t have to shuffle things as much, every load out is less stuff in the way.

Dad just left with the compressor, now I am trying to aim myself in a direction the doesn’t have me backtracking too much. I know I am going to be making multiple trips between the SG and the Hill today, just trying to time it so I can pickup some of my deliveries after lunch, seems simple, but it never ends up being that way.

Not ratchet straps, just axle straps with eyes or D's on both ends. Going to use winches to actually lift the horse. I have 2"x6' straps but they're too narrow, and too short. Like to get 4" wide straps so it spreads the load on his ribs.

I already helped Dad, only wasted about 50 minutes of my day. Of course I stepped into the office for just a second, about thirty minutes ago.

I am trying to break down priorities, the Muv-All really is top of the list for the time being. I won't have all my parts until either later today or first thing tomorrow morning, the only thing I need to do before we can start putting it back together is to clean up the parts we removed and paint the ones that are being reused. Some of it is small stuff that I can do in the sandblast cabinet, some of it is attached to the trailer and I can't remove it, so I have to do it outside in place. So at this point, getting to the SG and cleaning up those parts so I can paint them is what I should be doing. My brain keeps telling me to do other things, but I know I shouldn't. The blast cabinet is essentially ready to go back together, still have the one hole to make for the siphon hose, but welding is done, even got it up on wood blocks so it is easier to use. I am going to waist about 30 more minutes at the Hill, then take Perk over to the SG. When I come back this afternoon, I will be bringing the ramp truck, I have a few things that I am bringing up to the Hill and it will be my best option for transporting them.

Luck, I decided to stop in to see about the next stages of the Muv-All trailer refurb, turned into a long conversation, then lunch, I just got to the SG, also just got a call that the 17.5 alcoas are ready for pickup. I have a couple quick things to do here, then I am going to head back to the Hill with the ramp truck, picking up the alcoas on the way. Then I can head back to the SG to try and actually get something done.

Almost loaded, got to figure out how to strap the big bench down without hurting it, it doesn't look like it wants to stand up very well and I think laying it on a side will cause more problems. I am going to toss a strap over it and see what it feels like.


I think this is cheating, made it easy to load by myself.



This is what was assembled yesterday, I still need to get back in there and finish things, then I can start to transfer stuff from the shop and conex.
