We have been up since 7:30, had some smoothie, wrestled for a while, more smoothie, now enjoying greens in the cage. The new cage should be here today, once I get it figured out, the bathroom situation/liter box is going to be the next learning curve, then I can order an extra tier and Chuck will have two floors. The best part is that I won’t have to be on my hands and knees to try and get him out of the cage now.

I think once Chuck is a bit bigger the cats will play with him, at least Jack will.

I just setup the AC units at the Hill, at least the house will be cooler from here on out, it was getting pretty bad.

I have to go and deliver some parts, setup an AC unit at my Dad's place, then unload a trailer, reload a trailer, then go to the Camp to take a microwave out so I can either get it repaired or replace it. I am sure there are other things that will transpire, I am also pretty certain I won't get everything on my list done either, there are several more things on top of all that, but I am not going to waste your time on the mundane, at least not right now........

The new cage showed up, it is now assembled and in place, glad it is on wheels, I really don’t have enough room for it without being able to move it to access a closet door. Luckily that closet isn’t used all that often, so I might need to move it once a week. We setup a liter box with dirt in it, hopefully Chuck will catch on, but who knows. We will see what happens overnight.

I didn’t need to do anything, he used it first thing, I do need to get a larger one though. The cage situation is good, he enjoys the extra space that it has, the front doors are easier for me, but I think he preferred the old cage door better, he will have to get used to it. They make shields that wrap around the bottom part of the sides, I will need those, he chucked dirt all over the place when he first started using the liter box, then when he moved the blankets it went everywhere again.

I am going to try a mix of dirt, sand, and clumping cat liter, hopefully that will help.

I am currently at the Hill working on moving a few things around before the rain hits, then I am not sure what the next step will be.

Long day, still not over, Chuck is going to probably rastle for a while, I am getting laundry done so I have clean clothes for tomorrow. We got several things done today, mostly Dad’s stuff, but I fit in a few things, we took apart the Cat V80 forklift emergency brake, found out it essentially needs everything, literally. I found half the stuff I need on eBay, the rest I have to make some phone calls to confirm it is in stock, then I will order that too. It is getting ridiculous not having a parking brake, especially on the Hill.

The Muv-All trailer has a pretty serious leak on the ram that flips the tail out, I think we are going to have to fix it soon.

Getting out and trying to get a wheel chalked is annoying, since it is an automatic, you have to do this even if you shut it off.

Chuck was a 2 AM feed, good news is that the liter blend seems to be holding up so far, I need to sift it to get the rocks out, he likes to play with them. I had also cut one of the towels into four pieces and that has helped him moving them around after he does his business.

I got over 6 hours of sleep total last night. Chuck has been eating more of his greens, we also decided to cut his smoothie 50% with water. Once I have the good cages at each location, then I can start weaning him, right now with his temper tantrums, I don’t feel comfortable with him in the other cages, I think he could break something and hurt himself. At least we can look forward to that adventure in the next couple weeks. ;)

Yesterday was pretty productive considering the fact that I had almost no sleep, hopefully today will be decent too, tomorrow I am helping move stumps at my Buddy’s place with the army dump. That will be a nice distraction from the norm, I just get to be a dump truck driver instead of having to figure everything out.

One thing I have been noticing is that things are slowly getting accomplished, at least pieces and parts, but things feel like they are moving forward and I am gaining traction. The other day we maxed a large dent in the Quonset hut, yesterday we maxed enough room at the Salvage Garage to get the plasma cutter out front so the forklift ramps could get chopped up. Lots of things are in the works, but there is a sense of hope now rather than despair.

I'd steer clear of buying any more projects for a while; don't need anything to sidetrack you!

I agree on no new projects, I have plenty to deal with as is. The last major hurdle I have is going to New York to pick up the last loader. Everything else is local stuff, moving between the SG and the Hill, so the plan is to limp home from NY with the transmission as is and then do all the transmission stuff (PTO/Hydraulics too) this winter. Right now I am concentrating on forklifts and Chuck enclosures......

I still have a ton of things that need to be done, but I think if I keep moving in the direction that I have been, everything will be a bit more manageable, that is the theory anyways. My crazy list of projects is still out there, but I am trying to pick and choose the ones with the best cost/reward ratio, when I say cost, it is both money and time, I am not sure what is more valuable right now, my money or my time?

Today the carpenter is a no show, so the office progress is not moving forward, I am going to try and get a few things done before I have to go and pick up Chuck. I would like to load up both the trash trailer and the scrap trailer just to clean things up a bit. I am starting to get sick of looking at everything strewn all over the place up at the Hill, plus the lawn hasn't been mowed in weeks, so I really should do that too. So much to do, so little time to do it. ;)

I have been trying to figure out what my next steps are, seems like it is way too easy for me to become scatterbrained. I can't really concentrate my efforts on one thing, I keep hitting roadblocks, either I need two people to do it or I need more time, or I need something else, so I am just picking away at things, I can actually see some progress, so I can't completely complain, it probably wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so freaking hot and humid (I know it isn't really that hot, but it is for me). The perfectionist in me wants to do all and do it all perfect, taking one bite, then coming back to it later just isn't easy. I kind of feel like I am wasting time and effort doing it that way, but I am noticing more progress, guess that is how I am going to have to continue for a while.

You should train Chuck to dig the trench you need for the office. Tire him out and save you time!

Luckily I don’t need to dig a trench, I just need to run wires through conduit that already exists, it is the in wall stuff that will be a pain, at least if I want it to look decent.

Perfectionism will stop you every time. Give it your best shot and run with it. But I'm probably telling something you already know.

PS. keep up the good work.

You can have progress (meaningful in real life) or something perfect (maybe meaningful in an abstract sense).

Perfectionism is just mental ************ because it is an endless rabbit hole. Not to mention that the context you are trying to make something perfect for may never materialize. It is essentially multiple levels of fantasy.

I noticed the conflict between these two recently when you put a day's logical, well-prepared plans aside on the spur of the moment in order to redo all the 220 outlets just to avoid using an adaptor. But what seemed like an urgency at the time didn't seem so worth doing when you tallied your progress at the end of the day.

My .02 from far away.

Sometimes I need to give into my OCD, spending (wasting?) the time to do something like that actually brought me back from the brink. Everyone is wired a bit differently, but when there is something that just irks me every time I see it or think about it, well, in this case it was easier to make the “problem” go away. Now had I done that because they were a different color, we would have a more serious issue.

Chuck is getting smoothies with powdered greens, also ordered some pea protein powder to get the dog formula out of the equation, I hope to get him weaned before September, but if I have to still provide smoothies from time to time, at least they will be healthier and more in line with what he should be eating. We keep trying new things, he likes pea plant leaves, red clover leaves, two or three plants that I don’t know the names of, and that is about it. He doesn’t like fruits, even bananas now, thought for sure he would like watermelon, but he wouldn’t touch it.

Almost seven hours total sleep, getting better, Chuck just needs to drop the 2 to 3 AM feeding and things would be great.

My Buddy canceled the stump moving for today, so I can do a few more things that I need to get done before next week. Yesterday felt like a flop, I blame Chuck. ;)
