Chuck has done some freak out cage shaking, but he is sleeping now, hopefully I will be home before he wakes up.

The microwave situation seems to be looking like a direct swap, but the ceiling had water coming out of it from the air conditioner in the living room, soaked a rug on the floor pretty good, glad I left it on high last night so that I found out now. My HVAC guy is headed this way to check it out, thankfully I treat him good, so he responds well, can’t beat that kind of service on one of the hottest days of the summer.

Last night backfired on me, I tried to go to bed early, instead Chuck woke up early, I had to feed him early, so he got up early, and here I am not sleeping again. Oh well, I don’t have a ton to do tomorrow (today?) and it is going to be hot anyways.

Melatonin only works when there isn’t a Chuck making a racket.

The camp was all good, no more water leaking out of the ceiling, I setup the hammock (people one, not Chuck’s) and moved the kayaks and paddles out to the water area. I also got the water pump and garden hose down by the lake sorted, had to swap to my pump, the one I bought last year was acting up. I am thinking about channeling a rock and falling asleep for decades, of course Chuck has other plans.

I am pretty sure that between the heat, my CPAP, Chuck, my GF and her bathroom trips, the intermittent sound of the AC, and the ceiling fan I don’t think I get anywhere near that. If I slept for 7 hours straight, bit would be awesome.

This morning, while showering, I had a terrible strain in my neck while washing my hair, it was horrible, in fact it is still pretty bad. I do blame this on Chuck, when he is being fed, I am looking down at him the entire time and my neck doesn't like it, I feel like one of those kids today, the ones that can't look up from their phones....

It was either a pinched nerve or I have a bulging cervical disc. It feels somewhat better, everything is still tight around my neck and shoulders.

CPAP takes some getting used to, but it has helped substantially. You may have to try a few different styles of masks, I prefer the nasal pillows the best.

I was surprised to get the diagnosis. I usually sleep 7-8 hours a night. Wake up feeling fine. Not too drowsy during the day. Maybe I'll only need to sleep 4-5 hours a night with the CPAP?

I never got used to CPAP, leaks dried my eyes out and it sucked. I had dentist make an appliance that helps according to wife, I don't notice the difference

I have had the appliance as well, it messed with my teeth too much, so I had to stop using it.

Chuck slept all night, not sure what time I went to bed, but I woke up around 6:30 to the sound of Chuck wanting food..... On a good note, he seems to be using the new litter, so I have hope that there won't be anymore dirt litter mixing turning into mud. I hope to have all things Chuck figured out by August, LOL.

I've never seen a single person go in for a sleep study that wasn't prescribed one of those things. It's a money racket that goes on for the rest of your life. My wife has one, and they charge us nearly 200 every couple months for "supplies". It's just a replacement mask and hose and filter.

Not always. I've been tested. It was an unmitigated disaster, for them. During the test I ripped out the wires, and wrecked the wire box in my sleep. They woke me up and tried me with a mask. They found me kneeling over it, killing it, in my sleep. Needless to say, no CPAP for this chicky.

They tried putting me on a cpap. I would wake up every morning and the entire machine would be thrown across the room. It didn't last long.

Dunno if I agree with you. I've done two sleep studies. First one about 22 years ago; was not diagnosed with sleep apnea. This time I was. Both tests were done by military docs/providers at military hospitals, so I'm pretty sure the providers aren't getting a kickback based on how many CPAPs they prescribe, so I don't think they have any incentive to make a diagnosis.

I deal with sleep apnea in my profession. IMHO, CPAPS are the new “lift chair”. All about the $$$. Next step is medications that will “ cure” your restless nights

Trying to feed Chuck at 10:30 backfired, he wasn’t waking up at all, so I let him sleep, he just finished eating and is now back asleep again. So much for a full night’s sleep.

Nope, with my Covid mess, the steak and cheese must have had marinated in some garlic, so it tasted the way cat food smells to me. Even worse is the after taste, lasts for hours, in a bad way. So far I have only found one place that serves a steak and cheese that tastes and smells like steak to me, luckily it is less than two miles from the Salvage Garage.

I drove the army dump about 15 miles on the property, a quarter mile at a time. Did about 30 trips full of stumps, dumped them off a 40’ drop off, then repeat.

That's what 40' drop offs are for . Easy peasy and done.

Besides, you don't have to pull permits, or wait around until the pile is cold. And it's better for the environment. BUt mostly, it's quicker. Stumps take forever to burn.

You really can’t burn stumps until they have sat for a couple years, they generally hold so much dirt, you just make a mess and then have to deal with them later. The drop off will swallow them and they can return to the earth slowly without being in the way. This would also have been quite a pile, he is going to burn the brush, but not until fall.

Chuck wouldn’t get up until about 1:30 AM again, I tried at 10:30 PM, but he would just slink away and go back in the corner of his blanket fort with his eyes closed the entire time. So, this means that he has been sleeping for five to six hours between nighttime feedings. I just need to start stretching things out a bit. Last night he was fed at about 7:30 PM, looks like I need to try and get that down to 5 or 6 PM and then feed him about 10:30 to 11 PM. That should get me some sleep in the proper timeframe.

Today the UPS guy is going to hate me, I seriously have close to 20 packages showing up, some are heavy too (the rest of the cages). I am going to hang out at the house most of today anyways, so hopefully I will be able to help him, I can load some of it directly into the Blurb so it will be ready to go. Once the new cages are setup and the new litter boxes are in, I think that things will be much easier and Chuck won’t be nearly as cranky. Next step is to build the “catio” at the house, the cats can enjoy it as well as Chuck.

I've been trying to burn 3 stumps since 2004. I pile brush on them just about every year, come winter I burn the pile. They are charred and smaller but still remain. I have another pile on them right now, come winter they will get hot again but not gone.

That was my experience years ago, I gave up and paid someone to take them away. To be fair it was about 30 full wheeler loads of them and the guy only charged $1,500, I couldn’t give him the money fast enough.

I'm too lazy. Just take my stumps and brush down the driveway to "the" low spot that is semi-hidden and toss the junk on the pile to let it rot. After last year, the pile is bigger than the shop. Another 5 years and it'll be half that size. If it ever fully composts, I might level the area out, I might not.
