I think you can do fairly good videos with a run-of-the-mill phone, but I'm not sure. I'm using a Canon that set me back about $500 with a cheap $20 microphone and an inexpensive tripod.
We should work out some sort of deal -- I'll head out there and film, but it has to be Fairlane content!

Been busy getting lots of stupid things done. Last night Chuck spent his first night at the Hill alone, tonight is alone and hungry night, I fed him at about 7:30 PM, then left lots of greens and crunchy stuff for him to try and eat. We will see what happens, he is usually up and ready for more smoothie a bit before midnight. Fingers crossed he doesn’t destroy something important or dig a hole through the wall.

He chewed on some wood trim a bit more than I would have liked. Other than that he was OK.
This is my current situation:
I think something is missing. Now on side of highway in the not road legal army dump with no belt and a stuck alternator. Luckily my buddy is on his way, State Police know what is going on, and we are going to steal stuff from the truck at the tower site. Going to be a long night.

Just got home, swapped the parts and almost had it perfect. Apparently when I removed one bracket the tip of the bolt had broken off and I didn’t know it, we couldn’t put the stiffening bracket back on, but luckily there was a good place to rest it that allowed the belt to tension up and I made it back to the Hill. Lots of fun! Night.

I just wish he would eat more of the greens that I leave out, he is so picky, then if they wilt in any way, no go. I don't want to starve him, but it may come to it, I can be the soup nazi of smoothies....
I talked to the guy that Dad bought the boat from, trying to setup a schedule for retrieval, probably be next weekend maybe that Monday. I want to get it before Labor Day and early in the morning, not a fan of messy boat ramps with idiots that can't back up.

Last night is making today much tougher, I feel like I am in recovery, had about 20 hours into that day, guess that means I did two days work in one day?
I am at the Hill, but everything and I mean everything that I would like to do has some missing component. I am startign to make a list on things that are annoying and need to be fixed or replaced, the list is growing exponentially. I am also trying to get a handle on my current project list, but based on what I have for parts in stock, so I don't have to wait or spend more money before getting something checked off the list. The last six months have been a budget's worst nightmare, I NEED to curb things or nothing will get done. My priorities change based on what emergency is happening at the moment, I would like to stop that situation as well, I know emergencies will pop up, but having them a daily or multiple times daily occurrence is getting ridiculous. One thing I am noticing, I do not have a separate list for things that I can do by myself versus things that need another set of hands or someone with a different skill set than I have. Doing that may help keep things in check a bit better, the last week the office has suffered a bunch and now I have four tower lease amendments tossed my way on top of the boat to pick up for Dad and the newest emergency (actually old news) the gate at the tower site. Dad called me and tolled me to just drop everything and do the gate, then he told me just to go buy a cheap one from Tractor Supply and slam it together. I basically told him no way, then I ordered $2500 worth of square tube, $1000 worth of bearings, and I cut up two of his solid 3 1/4" diameter tower legs. I hope to have it mocked up next week, not sure if I am getting it galvanized or just painting it, I want to get it galvanized, but time is always against me. I may be able to get the steel taken down by another tower company, they make trips fairly regularly. It would be awesome if I could coincide it with picking up the boat, but timing wise it just can't happen.
The Muv-All trailer needs all the rams rebuilt, at least one has damage to the rod, so it will need to be fixed or replaced for sure. I can't tear the trailer apart until I get all the things moved around, so that means it needs to survive until the end of September or later. I have the excavator over at the tower site, need to get the gate posts installed and two sheds demolished, probably going to need to move some gravel as well, we put a "temporary" road in during the tower removal so that one of the buildings could be hauled out on a lowboy, but the road is so much nicer, we left it, I am pretty sure the town will tell me to pound sand and remove it. I do not think I can convince my Aunt that runs the two Trusts (technical tower owners) to spend more money on site plans and water runoff, so I am thinking to just preemptively remove it and haul the dirt to the Salvage Garage, will be useful there anyways. I have a lot of moving parts (when don't I?), just been a bit more of a struggle lately, at least the days haven't been as humid and hot.
On another note, the bed cooler thingy finally arrived, it is excellent, not cheap, but anyone that is a hot sleeper would be amazed at how well it works. I have the ceiling fan off, the AC is dialed back a bit and I am sleeping with a blanket all night. If I end up on my side, when I get into the shower, one half of my body is so much cooler than the other side that the hot water feels hotter on half of me.

I try not to give advice on this type of stuff, but just have to weigh in. My $.02: you can't have multiple complicated projects going on + daily hair-on-fire events. It just won't work. I think you really need to cut back on both or you'll be constantly furballed up. To put it into mathematical terms, the stress + lack of sleep + lack of exercise + no time to eat healthy = significantly diminished life expectancy. I'm not a doc, so I don't know how much worse diabetes makes it.
I'm pulling for you, but sometimes it seems like this thread is a slow-motion car crash -- I'm worried about the ending, but I can't look away.

I am feeling everything today, as the day has progressed my shoulders and neck are telling me that shoveling 1200 pounds of cement powder wasn't their idea of a good time. I did get to spend some quality time with Chuck and that is always fun. I am going to regroup a bit and try again tomorrow or Monday.....

The gate project is kind of top priority now, although I will be doing a few things at the Salvage Garage, the plan is to fabricate the two gates there, so I have to clear a bit of space. Who am I kidding, I have to clear a lot of space, this is kind of my baby steps, every time I do a bit more, it gets me closer to the next project and a checked off item. My bearings won't arrive until Monday, even then I may need to order two more of the tapered roller bearings, I only ordered two of them for the top and then two thrust bearings for the bottom, but after thinking about it, I am not sure the thrust bearings are going to work as I planned. I need to do some test fitting and fabrication before I can know for sure. The gate halves are going to be heavy, very heavy and I want them to move easily. We had underground power on one side of the road and underground telco on the other, so the gate posts are going to be about 34' apart, I also want this gate to be here in 200 years.
