lately when I can’t sleep I have been bidding on collectibles, things that I already collect just stuff I don’t have. I need to get sleep, staying awake is getting costly.

My new 3/4” drive torque wrench (goes both clockwise and counterclockwise) showed up the other day, it is essentially a new 2016 unit. I will check it against my freshly calibrated one, I am willing to bet it is still close, it has been in bubble wrap in a case for a long time.

Collectibles, you mean like trucks?

I collect smaller things too.

I'm trying to get rid of my latest collection.

yeahh, it seems all I collect these days is work.

I have been collecting work all my life, I have more than enough for three lifetimes. The trouble is, my work doesn’t appreciate in value, it just costs me time and money. :(

I slept in a bit, today I NEED to go for a walk, yesterday I was in a chair almost all day, my back is not happy about it.

I am hopeful that I can get the majority of the data entered into quick books today, I still have most of tomorrow, but I would like to be done today, that way I am ahead of the game, tomorrow can be for cleaning up the new mess I have made, there was a paper tsunami…..

I didn't buy anything last night, I slept very well. Of course this afternoon I bought something and bid on an eBay auction too. I guess I am just incorrigible.

I had to do some grocery shopping this morning, then had to deal with Chuck, then my GF came up to visit and I had to chaperone with them, Chuck is a bit more skittish with her since he doesn't see her all the time. Now I am back to paperwork.

Oh a possibly great note, I think Chicken is no longer a bad smell/taste for me, going to try some tonight. That would be a big game changer on the diet front, then maybe fish will be ok too. One step at a time.

I was working on paperwork until about 11:30 last night, things started to get blurry, so I figured I would get some rest. I set today up so that I will have things done, so far I have been moving along nicely and I am almost to the easier, more detailed data, the previous stuff was tough because of missing documents and no real file system (thanks to me). I just took a quick break, probably won't get lunch until after I am up to the point where the accountant can do her numbers, then I may just keep on with it. I need to do it at some point and it is fresh in my brain. I am also in that "mode" right now. At least Chuck is still happy and that is all that matters...

Nope, still going. The accountant told me she couldn't be there until this afternoon, so I only worked until 9PM last night. Of course I have the electricians showing up "first thing" this morning, hopefully they will have everything finished in the office today, if not it will be done this week, I am going to have them run the coax as well, I just can't seem to find the time to deal with it myself. Last things are the toilet, kitchen sink and countertop, finish installing the baseboard (backup) electric heaters, and build the turnbuckle supports for all the tables. The turnbuckle supports are just something I thought would be neat, but it is going to fall on me to make them. I want to machine some parts so that they look like they are attached to the floor. Coolest part is they are truly adjustable, so they will function as a support very well.

As far as I know, there are only three sets, two are the dimensions ones (just figures), and one is the Tardis console. I also have the Wizard of Oz figures and the Muppets....

I have the electrician started, hopefully he will be able to get things squared away today, if not at least we will have a direction and they can come back at any time to finish things.

I am back on the paperwork, at least this will teach me that I can't let it get like this again, everythign is taking more effort than it should.

OMG, then this happened!

Got it to work for a minute, then it shut down.

Pretty pattern. :(

Worst day ever to lose a computer. I have everything backed up, but it will take me a while to get another computer functioning to the point of being able to enter data in quick books.

Have the new computer starting up, going to pull the hard drive out of the old one and try running it in target mode from new one.

Typing this on the new computer, now I have to get the important things setup, like dropbox and the printer.

The printer may be trouble, it was a network installation and I don’t remember how to do it. Once the updates are done on the new computer, I can play around with it, still going to waste a ton of time, time I needed. :(

You can control things to a point, I could keep using that computer, it just won't update things that are generally important to update. It was on the agenda for an update, I just wanted to do it when I transitioned into the new office, the "new" computer is actually a couple years old now, we bought it just before moving into the "temporary" office.

I am now waiting for a validation code so I can install the new version of my "rental" quickbooks ($350 a year forever). I would buy a copy of the 2020 version (for $750!!!???), but I know they would break it like they did with 2019. Who buys software for $300 and expects it to stop working in 3 years, they want you to sign up for the "online" version, they push it so hard it isn't even funny. I had to tell the guy five times I didn't want it and he still sent me only the info on the online, not the "desktop rental".

I had to make another account to get around the BS, now I am logged in and the old data has been transferred, going to be a long night tonight. Accountant already said we could be up all night Wednesday to finish it. I wish she had contacted me weeks before the deadline, not months. Everything changed when we went to an S Corp and I thought I had until October 15th, not September 15th..........

Snack break, then back to it, I am now determined to get everything entered and caught up this week. Tomorrow will be a clusterfack, my Budy had to change his schedule, so now he can only help tomorrow, I am not going to be able to help him much, but the plan is to prep Perk for "The Great Loader Getting Road Trip" ® on Sunday.

I was at the Hill at 7:30, I had to setup Perk and get things ready for my Buddy, then I had to feed the Chuck. I have been unloading things from the Blurb, now I am going to do a bit more paperwork. The accountant is going to stop by to see what I have and what I need, that way I have a few hours to get it ready. ;)

The road trip on Sunday will be about 7 hours each way, looks like 800 miles total distance, should make for a long day, luckily it should be a quick loading, last time I had a trip to pickup something it was the big knuckleboom truck, that took hours to get loaded, then we had to stop several times for various issues, most was because I was an amateur at the Tru-Hitch (still am).

To be fair, the computer was almost 12 years old, so I would say I got my money out of it. Also it isn't dead yet, I have lots of parts, I can move it out to the shop at the Hill and it can be a time wasting box.

Damn, 12 years is impressive! I think that's about twice as long as the expected lifespan.

I'm a Mac guy, too, but only because I got tired of viruses and anti-virus subscriptions on PC's.

Good on you for having it all backed up.

Yes, backing up his super important these days. I keep local and online backups, heck some stuff gets backed up by two online accounts. Other than the setup time and software mess, I did not lose anything that I had entered.

I just emailed the last of the documents for all six companies to the accountant, now I am waiting to see if she has more questions before I head home. I kind of want to enter more data, but my brain is about fried right now and I do not want to make a mistake. I made one last night that cost me 30 minutes of redoing something.

Before the accountant showed up, I semi helped with the installation of my tire pressure equalizers on the Muv-All. They look like they will work well, the brackets they sent were awful. I remembered these stainless brackets I had from some mirrors and we made nice clean looking ones.

Perk also got a different, longer (too long) stack, but I needed something to cut back on the reverb the shorter one created, driving to New York like that would be obnoxious. Then my Buddy removed the center joystick control that was used for the front forklift mount (sounds weird, but that was what the original owner made), we had to make a couple compromises, but I can still engage the PTO, but the switch is kind of floating in limbo for now. Then he charged the AC with a non leaking schrader valve, at least we hope so, it was a used one, but no one had one in stock. He also got the tire pressure equalizers on the rear tires of Perk, now I just have to fill them to 110 PSI and see if we have any leaks. I will get some more pics tomorrow.

Paperwork is almost done, well, the data entry side is, I still have to file everything and organize it, but that isn't happening until I hit the new office.

I want to head over to the Salvage Garage for a little bit, haven't been there in a while, need to get my mail and drop off some tools and supplies.

Got sidetracked by the accountant, no Salvage Garage today, should be good for tomorrow, I am getting some lunch now (dinner?), then I have to go back to the Hill and do a little more paperwork, then feed the Chuck, then I can head home and do laundry. ;)

I messed with some of the frozen smoothie, got it thawed without cooking it and Chuck ate it just fine. That is going to make things way easier, I can prep and make days worth of smoothie now and then only use what I need. Basically it is almost four cubes per bottle, so far I have only thawed enough to do two bottles at a time, but I do not think it will be hard to scale things up, just might take a little longer to get everything thawed.

F63453F1-FAEC-456B-824B-82C76F3D7186.jpeg

Then we have the temporary stack on Perk, definitely too tall, couldn’t cut it done since it is a 5” that flares out to 8”, the 5” part was just long enough to fit in the top of the muffler. When things get redone, the stack will be on the driver’s side and I will probably have the muffler behind the cab laying flat (horizontal).

B7A4F120-6BFF-43CC-AC08-2FE4E80F3EFC.jpegE10F3AED-0BB5-46A2-B50D-69E20BA88AF4.jpeg

I would like the stack to be no taller than the highest part of the boom, right now the stack is 12’ off the ground, the boom is about a foot shorter.
