I think we are in for a couple more today. That tarp was at least two layers, so it should be fine, trying to dry the tarp is going to be the tough part, it is huge.

I am headed out soon to pick up the rest of the stuff, will be two more trips, but with smaller vehicles. I am trying to find a window that won't get me totally soaked hooking up the little dump trailer, not sure it is going to happen and I can't find my rain coat, I did find my rain pants, but that isn't going to do me much good without the coat.

Jack Stand has a great picture of the C-70 leaving the auction with a funny load, maybe he can post it. ;)
Ok, Strouty, I am confused. Isn't "Tower Specialties" your dad's or your company? Is that truck that you or your dad sold at the auction?

Strouty you have a great story, it's amazing how much you get done, whether you think so or not. Hope the office comes together on time now. Wishing you all the best.

It was my truck, purchased from tower specialists, years ago, I never removed the logo, I like the logo.

It was horrible, we got all of the rain that Walrus was expecting, windy too, luckily it is warm. I can’t remember the last time I was this soaked without falling into the water with my clothes on. It was wet times 100. My boots were filled with water to the brim from the water soaking through my pants and running down my legs. It was like a mini monsoon, took two trips with two trucks, but everything is picked up. Won’t get to unload it until tomorrow, assuming this rain stops.

We had to go home and change before getting lunch. Now I need to find a belt, my pa to are falling off without my suspenders.

At least the guessers got your area right. You guys are still in a drought or at least below average rainfall for the year

We definitely got some, I wanted to try and wait it out, but if anything went wrong, I wouldn’t have anyone to load the stuff, at that point it would take me all day to get things loaded using the knuckle boom. In the end, it was only about two hours of being soaked, seemed worse while I was soaked.

Rain is starting to die down a bit, I have been running errands, got to stop at Home Depot to return some parts, then I may go to the Salvage Garage to unload the butcher block I ripped down to put on top of the Knaack war wagon, it has been in the Blurb since Wednesday.

The propane heaters are these big direct vent 310k BTU units, I figure I can flip them, it is the right time of year. The PVC stuff is large, there were a bunch of test plugs and then some fernco connectors, some of the stuff will become cage furniture for Chuck. I bet I can sell a few of the things without too much trouble. It ***** that it will be raining all day, but everything that is in the rain has been in the rain for the last week and a half. I did get the manuals and controls for the heaters out of the rain, so at least that stuff isn’t going to be completely soaked.
The smell of a fresh flip.

I have to pick up a cultivator this weekend I bought, pull the sweeps off and put spikes on, more auction booty, and get it out there. If it don't sell in a couple of weeks there is a consignment auction coming up.

Lucky you didn't lose power, still quite a few outages down your way. We finally got some rain last night, T storms rolled thru about 1 am.

Those heaters would be good for an airplane hangar.

I hadn’t lost it as of last night, so I will probably be good.

I had to adjust the rear brakes on the Blurb, they were loose and getting grabby with the water all over the roads. I did make it over to the SG and the tarp looked like it was doing its job, hopefully everything will be dry. I am still trying to figure out logistics, no forklift at the SG is screwing me up, I think I will bring Clark over first, try and move everything that is in the back area, then bring the V80 over and take Clark back to the Hill. That should cover things so I have a usable forklift at both locations. I have to get a loader going, then I can use that as my off-road forklift.

I had to grab the crane forks, I needed to figure out how to fix them first, they would slam to the end of the travel when empty, especially when you least expected it. It would either scare you, hit you, or just mess up the fork angle, but it was annoying. I had to pull apart a couple things that I didn’t need to before I figured out the best way to adjust them. I can see how to make them easier to adjust, might do that in the future, for now I think I got them working, we will know soon enough. They have a self leveling roller system counter balanced by a cable and springs, it allows the load to balance itself and have the forks level when empty without doing any adjustments, that is the theory anyways.

Looks like we survived the deluge, most everything is dry, I got some of the top bags wet from walking in them, but overall a success. All I have to do now is find a place to put everything, that’s all. :(D159E8CE-A331-4259-A7C2-AEB927372857.jpeg2680CBF8-F6BC-4536-9B68-64C916129F50.jpeg087E1671-2580-4D9B-8F56-938B98D7779B.jpeg

I am trying to get the crappy chains out of the good ones, I couldn’t believe that the grade 100 chains were coated, but the grade 80 were black oxide. I had ordered a couple omega link axle chains that were grade 80 and those were coated. I should have put them in the auction, just ran out mental ability, I found a couple other things I forgot to bring over, oh well. The straps are going to dry pretty quick, it is almost 70 here today.

I have to add some rubber grid to the bottom of this box, then the chain won’t sit and scrape around on muddy rusty nastiness.

Got the tarp cut down into two good pieces and unloaded the trailer, had to use the track crane, Perk wasn’t able to perform. I just sold the rabbit cages I used originally for Chuck, now he is getting fed, then I am headed back to the Salvage Garage to unload Clark and maybe move some stuff around, the yard is a mess.

I made it through all the random boxes, some really good stuff in there, next is the sandblasting stuff and there is a printed list of things that are supposed to be in there, if it is accurate, it was a great buy. I really need to go home, but this is the exciting stuff, of course everyone is either doing something fun or sleeping, so I am all alone. :(22F5F8AB-D3D0-4051-9425-D66B5B10DC0C.jpeg472A0903-030A-4BC1-A6DC-5102AC7B0EEA.jpegC5F630DC-F96A-4EF3-9572-566C2057944D.jpeg0DCF9E1A-EB4C-43CB-AA4F-E3C771A55191.jpegD15AB7E8-AC25-48A5-AD0F-3A957463BCDD.jpeg3787DB1D-4D56-499D-93B4-45B8A459C130.jpegF7CD8850-9064-45A0-9C3B-D7F0AA0A696D.jpeg

There is some junk mixed in, but a lot of good usable stuff, along with some great stuff to sell. One of the boxes had two brand new center consoles for 2019 Silverados, they were in the GM boxes, last one on eBay sold for $199 and it was used with damage. I will most likely list those on Marketplace and see what happens. There are lots of spare parts for the sandblasting pot and fresh air system. I have to look things over, I do not need two units, so I want to get one listed for sale. Today I have to deal with all the PVC and Fernco clamps, should have enough empty totes to fit just about everything. Then I will see what is still usable and try and pawn that stuff off as well, minus a couple things for Chuck to use of course.

No clue on the light bar color.

Leak is from the makeshift siding, roof has no leaks.

I am about to head out to the SG, got to u load the propane heaters and then get the black beauty under cover, going to rain this week.

So far there are four sandblast helmets, two that are much newer, one cooling vest (stoked!), a bunch of spare parts, but the air compressor is stuck, hopefully it is fixable, they are expensive because it is breathable air.

Once I get things situated, I will have to setup everything and try it out, then list one setup and get it sold.

In one of the other boxes was a brand new Webasto heater, those are not cheap either, will probably be useful when temps get cold. Lots of lights, looks like some are the same that are on the FWD crane. I am going through hydraulic lines now, used will get one pile and new will go inside the storage trailer.

Looks like you did very well @ auction Strouty, is the Webasto heater for a car (got one in my LR Discovery 4) or do they make other heaters as well?
