I still have a couple to turn back, apparently the guy had car troubles and couldn’t be bothered to tell me as well, so no show. At least I had things to do, probably could have been a lot more productive if I had not even bothered with the buyer, might end up removing the listing and just use it as parts. I really wish I had brought it to the auction, really, really wish. :(

Got the Mitsu over to the SG from the tower site, I think next plan is to bring Clark back to the Hill and then take the Cat V80 fork lift over to the SG to load the pallet racking. I will have to stage things so that I can get to them with the Cat V80.

Some of it depends on what is being sold, same was true on eBay, I would have lots more problems with selling a cell phone than I would with a vintage RC part.

I think I have figured out the pallet rack “roof”, I am going to sacrifice some height, but it should be the most reasonably efficient way to deal with it. Basically going to go with a completely separate roof that extends under my building overhang, then goes out another foot past the edge of the racking. I just have to find the metal roofing now.

I bought a drill/impact kit and was trying to sell the impact driver this weekend. Got a million responses, multiple people supposed to come buy it and yet here it sits. I think I may just keep it. The $$ I make isn't worth my hassle.

That is why I like the auction, I bring it over there and it is gone, they send me one check for all my junk. Sometimes I do better than other times, but it has been worth it overall.

I just got to the Hill, had to bring Perk and the Blurb, it is really easy to load and strap down, way quicker than two trips and cheaper than two people. Once I feed Chuck, I am going to head back over to the SG and unload the HD series, then hook the Blurb to the dump trailer to get rid of the trash from the tower site. Might even have enough time to make a scrap run, but I have a doctors appointment after lunch that is going to mess this afternoon up pretty much beyond repair. Then we have the quagmire of tomorrow, think I can get that over with pretty easy if I time it right. I figure 10 AM should be good.

We're working on moving so I've been setting out of the online auctions for a bit. It's hard at times though.

I have a list of what some stuff is selling at auction for at certain auctions, so I have an outlet to turn things over at a couple of different auctions. My son don't mind posting stuff online and dealing with that hassle so that works for me.

I do have a lot going on, it is hard for me to keep up and I am living it. Worst part is that I don't post about all the other mundane **** that takes up way too much of my time, so there is even more going on than imaginable. I expect that things will start to wind down a bit before Christmas. I am hopeful that we will have some decent weather over the next few weeks, that mixed with some productivity, some imagination, a touch of motivation, and a pinch of tenacity should get some things done. I can tell you one thing, tomorrow is going to feel cold, it is at least 70 right now and the high tomorrow is supposed to be 48.

OK, I got sidetracked (yes me), the Blurb rear brakes were grabby, so I adjusted them again, I just don't understand how something technically so simple can be so troublesome. I adjusted them, then one would lock up, but only when I tried to spin the wheel in reverse. It is like the drums are out of round, but bad. I really need to setup the brake lathes and at least try and turn some, these are new AC Delco and they felt kind of like this from day one. Anyways, I tightened them up and backed the truck out, then did it again (they didn't seem tight enough), after the second try everything seems OK, but I am not too optimistic. It is making me want to go and buy all the parts for the rear end swap, I just don't have the time to do that right now. I may have to build a backup burb though, having only one truck is getting tough, especially when I keep having issues like this. The maroon one would probably be the best candidate, it needs a transmission. I also have the white one that needs a piston at a minimum, more likely an entire engine. I really have to do something though.

On top of all that is going on, this morning driving Perk was painful on my shoulder, now I am sore in general, I think I am wearing myself right out of motivation too. I am still at the Hill, I changed all the clocks back, then loaded up the returnables (six bags), now I am supposed to go and get the dump trailer at the SG, but I also have my Doctors appointment and I think I may have to wait until after that to go get the trailer, just running out of time now thanks to the brake adjustment. :(

That ***** that you're pulling your hair out over drum brakes. Should be the last thing that causes issues that cannot be resolved easily.

I'd consider swapping brakes from one of the other 'burbs before swapping to disk brakes.

The brakes feeling grabby almost sounds like the flex lines are not releasing all of the pressure back to the master cylinder. Are you sure that you have a few thousandth of play between the master cylinder and brake pedal push rod?

They get grabby when the shoes are too far off the drum, they were fine again after adjusting them. Fine, until they aren’t fine again. The disc swap is going to happen, I can’t stand drum, also upgrading the front brakes to use GMT 800 brakes, that will make it way easier to change the brakes, my front rotors are in the wrong side of the axle, so changing them is a RPITA.

I am still at the doctors appointment, they are going to get me a tetanus shot since I am not sure when the last time I had one was. I am sure it is more than 10 years ago though.

I can already tell that I am barely going to get anything done until Wednesday, today’s list is already flowing into tomorrow’s.

I'm wondering if 68400 is on to something. But knowing you, you probably changed the flex line a long time ago. I forget, how come the Perk bugs your shoulder?

Thats what it was on my 95 GMC, always heard flex lines could fail without leaking but never believed it until I had one fail internally

I am pretty sure the flex line was replaced when we first did the brakes, will have to check, I have no idea about any play between the master and push rod. I just think this axle (and the entire Burb) is jinxed. I don’t think I will ever buy a blue one again.

Perk has a terribly tight transmission, short length shifter, and crappy clutch all in one lively shoulder beating package. The plan is to replace everything this winter, same plan as last winter, except last year the ramp truck ripped the nose off Perk and I had to wait until everything was settled with the insurance company, so I never got around to doing it. It needs to be done, very badly, should make driving much more enjoyable, plus the new PTO and hydraulic pump should make the crane function ten times better.

I know I used grabby, maybe it isn’t the right word, but these trucks have issues if they are out of adjustment, especially when things are wet. The brakes lag a bit, then engage but at that point they get more leverage, so you kind of get no brakes, then a hard stop, it isn’t like they work and don’t release, also as soon as you adjust them, all that goes away.

I don’t understand that style, to each their own, definitely not for me. I just keep thinking I am going to swap the trans and do everything at once, I am so close now, I am not going to waste any time on it until this winter.

Technically Perk has a 13 speed, but OD is broken, so it is only a 9 speed right now. I am swapping in an 18 speed, also have to change the rear end gears, probably the entire rear end so that I can use the double overdrive, current gears (3.55) would do over 100 MPH, I would like to be able to go 85 on the governor, that way cruising speed would be at a reasonable RPM. I haven't figured everything out yet, I need to look at a lot of specs to make sure I am compromising the least amount.

Loaded the trailer, got it to the dump, then bought five more railroad ties for the racking, they won’t help load, after three I wished I had more friends. :(

Now I am headed to the SG to get the little trailer and take a load of scrap over to the yard, not going to get much, but I am tripping over junk and I am trying to get stuff cleaned up. Also have another dump trailer load ready to leave for various locations….

I also have to go stand and line to make it count, if you get my drift, hopefully that won’t get me banned.

I doubt that will get you banned, unless you tell us you're voting for an idiot Republican, or a stupid Democrat. Now if you told us you're voting for the Green party, I think you'll be ok.

So much valuable time is spent going in circles. You have more sand blast media then you will ever use, you had to load it, haul it home, unload, order different bags, transfer to the different baqs, build shelving to store the bags, then put them up there to wait to be used. Figure out your value per hour and see if you will ever break even on many of your scores or projects. Is media that expensive to just grab a few bags as you need it? This is just one of your many adventures that while enjoyable to watch, also makes me wonder why someone as smart as you continue this cycle. The projects that seem important to you keep getting pushed back and I am afraid you will never get any of them completed. Im not hating, just stating I want to see you get these builds done and follow along while you succeed.

I set them aside, in order to actually use them I will need to put some sort of brace a bit lower on the sides of the trailer, they just flop around now. Also need to get a tarp that fits. One more thing, that's it, just one more.

I kind of feel like Steve Martin in the Jerk, "all I need".....

Stick them in the trailer. If they get separated, then there's no reminder and the job never gets done and you're hanging on to more useless ****.

Oh. And the brace is some of those bigger bx straps welded to the side of the trailer. 20 minutes and you're gone.

I don’t want them on the trailer, they get in the way right now, technically I don’t need them at all, but I think a good covered wagon trailer could be a neat thing to have. Until I have a nice tarp, they are pointless. At least they have a purpose, other than scrap steel.

Go hang those hoops on the end of the pallet racking you have outside, and move onto the next thing. That's what pallet racking is for, to store stuff, so put them there and be done with it. When you need them, you'll know where they are, and you'll figure out a way to brace them or not and a tarp that works. Until you need them, no sense in cluttering your mind with them. Done!

Good idea, I will bring them over tomorrow,.

Today was a wasted day getting outside stuff done, I did get a bunch of random inside stuff done and then had to run around with my Dad to get a few things done that he had to sign off on. Now I need to get food for Chuck and make smoothies should have done it over the weekend, but I was busy, can’t wait any longer we are out of frozen mix. Chuck only had one bottle this morning and I can tell he is mad about it.
