I didn’t get more dandelion greens and the ones in the fridge looked ok, but smelt rotten, Chuck got the Popeye treatment, all spinach.

I am not sure what I am going to do tomorrow, I have twenty things to get done and probably only five of them can actually be done in the time that I have, might even be less than that. I really wish today hadn't been a nice day, I really feel like I wasted it. The worst part is that I can't easily do the things I need to at the Hill because I don't have a forklift in the Quonset hut, the Cat V80 will go down there, but I don't think I can get it back up the hill, I also don't think I can get Perk with the Muv-All and the Cat back up the hill from the quonset hut, so basically I can waste a lot of time moving things by hand or I can do part of what I need to do at the Hill, then head to the Salvage Garage and do part of what I need to do there. Unfortunately without the pieces from the quonset hut I can't finish the project at the SG and without the forklift from the SG, I can't easily move the things I need at the Quonset hut to load them on the truck/trailer. If I wasn't so tired, I should have just headed to the SG with the Cat forklift tonight and then brought Clark back to the Hill, used it in the morning, then hauled it back to the SG again. I feel like a yo yo and all I have been doing is shuffling things around without making a true dent in anything. I think all this is because Dad was bitching about how I have taken two years to finish the office, he actually blamed me, like I was holding everything up, it kind of set me on edge. I know there was a lot more in play and he had a lot to do with things by making multiple changes along the way, but he doesn't remember it that way, very frustrating, just blame me, it's fine.......

It's seems that you have a good sense of the root cause of your frustration.....

The other things can be solved, but maybe not on the specific time line that you want...

Take some time off this evening and get your mind off it. The chuck, the GF and a good movie. Popcorn to go with it and enjoy the time together.

Just my two cents...

Today just turned into a nightmare, I spent the morning moving stuff for Dad, then loaded the Cat V80 forklift and brought it from the Hill to the Salvage Garage. Then we figured out things for the roof over the racking, decided it was just the worst idea I have ever had, so changed plans to make the racking movable, basically four individual bays. Got part of it taken apart, then the last piece I thought that I had gotten the Cat stuck, nope, transmission stopped functioning. :(

So far it is not a fluid issue, doesn't appear to be a linkage or de-clutch issue, seems to be a pump issue. Now I have a 15k pound boat anchor in the yard. I have to clean out the shop and get it inside to do any real work to it. I am a slight bit devastated, maybe a touch more than slight. I will report back after I get some more time, but I won't know what is going on with the Cat for at least a week, way too much outside stuff needs to get done and I am running out of daylight and decent weather.

Life is what happens when we are making other plans. . . So sorry for the setbacks. Still impressed with all the progress you've been making!

It may only be a stop gap, the guy has been using it for a couple years, but with no coolant. The engine has an issue where coolant will go into the oil pan, really quick, so he just doesn’t use it for a long time. We think it needs liner seals, I do plan on using it, but only for 15 or 20 minutes at a time. We had it running for ten minutes and you could still put your hand on the head. This is with 60 degree outside temps. It should be safer as it gets colder. The mechanicals work very well, except the E-brake, looks like another project. :(

I actually was surprised it hadn’t sold, it has been listed for a couple months. I paid the “firm” asking price of $3k. It is rated at 8k pounds, but only lifts to ten feet. The forks are custom spliced together 48” long ones, but he says he has a set that are shorter that can go with it. It also has some doors and the side shift works well. Brakes are fine, forward and reverse are very positive, I think it will be great for right this minute and with some work over this winter, it will be really good long term.

So far slow morning, I think I will be lucky if I get back to where I started yesterday, if I can do that, it will be a win. Worst part is that there is rain coming in for most of the weekend and I am not ready, not at all. I have until a bit after sunset to get prepped, won't even be able to pick up the new forklift until after lunch, then it is an hour drive back to the SG, if I can get it unloaded and swap the forks from the Cat V80 today I will be doing well. With the rain I should concentrate on the house at the Hill, the water system needs to be plumbed in so that I have the tanks inside the basement full of water, then I don't have to worry about freezing temps making a mess of things.

I gave up for today, frankly I have written this entire week off, at least what is left of it. I am going to concentrate on the house at the Hill, we are going to get some cold temps next week, so it needs to be done anyways. I just hope I can get myself motivated and keep pushing through. This week has made me exhausted.

You must try not to be so relentlessly negative about things. Okay you haven't acheived much of what you wanted, but that is a combination of unrealistic expectations and some bad luck.
On the other hand you have still moved forward, even if only a little bit.
Try to see the wins as well as the losses and you may be a little happier.

Random progress is good! A few things off the list! (Just remember when new problems crop up to add them to the list so you can cross them off!)

I don't think it would be so bad if I was feeling more rested. That and the fact that we are going to get rain for a couple days. I know I have inside work to do, the water system is far from ready for the freezing temps, so in some ways it is good that I am forced under cover....

It is on the starter, I think the switch is actually the issue, I haven’t had a chance to even poke around in there. It was basically dark and the rain had started, that was when I decided I was done for the weekend. I am going to bring a remote starter switch at a minimum, when I go back over, not sure when that will be, all depends on the weather.

Last night I also ordered the service and parts manuals for the new Hyster, I have them for the Cat, I need to take a look and see what tests can be done for the transmission, it could be something simpler than the fiber coupler.

It is going to be 70 again today, but the rain is not going to completely take over the day. I still plan on getting the water system up and running at the Hill, temps plunge a bit next week and I do not want to get caught with no water.

I just hope next week doesn't throw too many curve balls at me, I really need to get some things done. I especially need to clear out the shops at both the Hill and the Salvage Garage so I can use them this winter and not for storage....

"Danger Will Robinson, danger". Jon04 got enough of the dandruff to stick to his grass. I got just enough (around 4:30 this afternoon) to say I could see it, but it was so little that I could have counted the number of flakes if I hadn't been busy. I hope you house prep goes smoothly, but I won't hold my breath.

Yes, we have pretty green grass at the house, actually just picked dandelion greens for Chuck. Whatever happens, weather wise, I am not ready. :(

Today was not very productive at all. I hope I can make up for it tomorrow, don’t get me wrong, I did a bunch of things, but not one of them was related to what I really need to get done.

We're in the process of moving, there's at least a small failure in plans everyday. Things that were going to be done before we moved in aren't, the to do list for the day doesn't ever get accomplished, but you just get up and go again the next day. You just have to figure to figure at least every third day is going to be almost totally unproductive because of finding something isn't going to your plans or just timing and logistics. We had to go back to the old house last night for bedsheets and clean clothes because they hadn't been loaded. It's about twenty miles between houses so there is no urgency to load it all in one trip.

If you build a house go big with the doors and pinch points, have to drag a fridge around the house and go in a back door because it won't go in the other two doors in the utility room it's going in.

Get busy cleaning up what needs to get put inside before Wednesday, could be some snow even on the coast. I have nothing ready to plow with and will have no time to get plow on tractor. Hopefully its rain here
