If I had your fleet, like I did once, everything would have a block heater and battery maintainer bolted on to the machine, and a bunch of power posts to feed them when parked. Oh, right, I still do that on a smaller scale. With your widespread fleet, would it pay to have a pickup with a generator powered battery charger\starter|welder with a big secondary truck battery, sorta like the old military jet starter trucks? In the day, one of my fleet pickups was set up that way, and dedicated to getting the left-on-site stuff started. Then it was the welding truck after the **** was running.

Random auction purchases to the rescue. I forgot there were these crappy jumper cables, well, those with a booster pack started everything, we are now back on track with a little over two hours of daylight.

On a good note, the 5 ton army tractor has left the facility, forever.

Kay, I think that having a good "booster pack" that is on wheels with some group 31 batteries will probably cover 95% and then jumpre cables will handle the rest. Most of my actual equipment does have a block heater and a easy way to charge it, but I think the dedicated maintainer is a good idea, I am also going to add a coolant heater/circulator to the most used things, they work great. I figure a junction box can tie them all together so one 12 gauge cord will handle everything. I will be picking away at things this winter, one thing that needs to be addressed for sure is the lack of lighting on the exterior of the SG and most of my equipment. With that I could work right up until I freeze......

I think Kay's idea of a dedicated service truck with a generator is the best idea. To bad you don't have one of those in your plans.

Army truck sold for less than I wanted, but it is gone, $5,500, I will only get about $4,900 after fees. It was way rustier than I had originally thought, then I had the run around with several marketplace people, I am glad it is gone.

I wish I could be that much of an early bird, just got to the SG a few minutes ago. We got a bit more snow here, but not at my house, not sure about the Hill. Just enough to be annoying. I have to get some equipment started.....

Everything started, I have Perk plugged in so as soon as I have a spot laid out, I can back the trailer into it. I need to run another cord over to Bev, I have to move that out too. I expect that today will be the most transformational looking day. Only one more day of workable weather, then looks like a good chunk of rain if the storm track holds (if not there could be some white stuff).

The batteries in Bev were a no go, I am probably going to change them out if I can’t get them jump started. Getting my front pile smaller.

I was out the door at 6, I know I could have done better, but I was slacking.

Front pile is gone, been working the back and front as I can.

About as good as it is going to get this year. There is a lot of extra in there that will have to be leveled out sometime in the spring. I have maybe two more loads coming, that will get the main portion of the back yard dealt with, but I suspect I will need another 500 yards to finish things up.

Thanks everyone, it will definitely pay off in the long run, but it is going to just about kill me getting it done. The truck driver did awesome, 12 loads on Monday and 12 loads today, a bit over 200 yards each day. That brings our total to well over 600 yards, I have moved about the same amount using the army dump and that is a lot of trips, probably 70. I still have to move a bit more, then I can concentrate on the "stuff" I haven't figured out where everything is going, but I am sure it isn't going to stay where it is.......

Well, looks like I am not going to be ready for what could be 8” of snow on Saturday. Friday might be an inch of rain too. I guess I may need to be a little less ambitious and get things as close as I can. It is going to be a long couple days.

I am a bit earlier today, almost wish I had started at 2AM, it is warm outside and there is no breeze. Anyways, I got to the SG at 6AM, better than nothing. I am getting things together so I am ready for when the sun comes up, actually, 7AM, that is when I feel OK about making noise.

I think I can have most things moved today, then finish up in the rain, tonight is going to be a long night though, I have to shuffle equipment back to the Hill, otherwise that place will be a nightmare when the snow hits. So tomorrow will be a wet soggy mess and I have to deal with both the Hill and the SG, should be even more fun than today!

I think I am done moving sand, at least for right now. I have to flatten out the back area, then start putting things away, I will have to move both Cascadias and the M37, plus a bunch of random ****. There is a lot that I wanted to get rid of but it has been trapped, I am making a path so I can get it out front, even if I have to plow around it for now, at least I should be able to deal with it using the track crane and the Hyster. I think things are going to start progressing rapidly, I don't have to worry about the gravel delivery, so now I can concentrate on one thing at a time and get some $hit done.
