Maybe this was asked and answered.

What happens to the old generator?

Didn't you pull one out of one of the old cell tower sights when it was decommissioned?

If so, what became of that one?

Strouty - I had a random type failure on my gun fired hot water heater, which is fed from the same line as the furnace which never quit. Turned out that by letting the tank get too close to empty, when it was filled, it had stirred up the bottom of the tank (40 plus years old). Every once in a while a slug of water would make it through. I had to flush the line and change the filter several times to clear it up..

And the house furnace (oil fired) is having the same problem it had last year, it randomly quits with some no flame alert. I remember the furnace company that cleaned it also replaced the transformer, we had the same issue, then they told us it was our house wiring, but the electrician said there was no issue, so I replaced the transformer as well thinking we had a bad one out of the box, no go. Cad cell was replaced, twice, nothing seems to be wrong right up until it quits. Usually it is just a matter of doing a reset, then it will be fine for a while. I need to figure it out so that we don't lose heat. It just doesn't make sense and I don't want to pay for someone to throw parts at it, then point the finger at something else when they can't figure it out. I can do that all on my own, for free.......

Sounds like they loaded up the parts cannon and let 'er rip...

Parts cannon for sure.

I sold the generator from the decommissioned site, didn’t want it hanging around getting destroyed while I waited to figure out if I wanted to use it. Besides that was mine, nothing to do with Dad’s stuff and at the time we didn’t know about this issue, so it was either use it at the house that wasn’t mine, let it sit, or sell it. I decided to sell it. This one will be used at the Hill for the house, office and shop heat.

Just met with the gas guy, we need to drill a hole out the side of the concrete enclosure, might have to buy a bit for the 1” pipe.

I was up early, then I felt like going back to sleep, now I really feel that way, my GF said she needed to be in the shower at 6:30, so I was out at 6:15, then she tells me she doesn't need to be in there until 8, I would have slept an extra hour for sure. :(

Strouty I have no idea if this will apply to your furnace or not, but the furnace in my old place had a similar issue that would pop up every now and then. IIRC it would start up but then cut out as it wasn't detecting any flame. Turns out there is a little flame sensor that sticks down in the burners, and over time it would get covered in dirt/soot and then it wouldn't work. A minute with some steel wool to clean up the end of the sensor and it would work good as new.

Notice the a whole day doesn't go by if Strouty doesn't post, and we all start wondering. By the end of day 2, we're all giving him grief. Maybe he's stuck making Chucky meals.

He's here.

Someone or something must have ticked him off
Or
Maybe he's just taking a break from posting.
Or
He's in GJ Jail

Can you login and not be able to post if that happens?
