Dragged home a 60gal Securall safety cabinet the other day to store solvents and other combustibles. The thing is new, but shows shipping rash. I bought it surplus.

For the jollies, I dropped Securall a note asking whether touch up paint (red) were available. Their customer support was prompt. I received an invitation to pay them $56 plus shipping for 4oz of their enamel touch up paint.

Must be some very special paint . . .

I'd take it in and see whether I can match the color, but nothing on the ****** thing comes apart, and at nearly 400lbs, it's a bit hefty to drag to the paint counter at the local Sherwin Williams.

I'm calling Stanley Vidmar tomorrow to see about replacement latches for the old, external latch, cabinets I bought earlier this week (two 5 drawer for $140 the pair). I'm hopeful that the latches won't cost more than the cabinets--they're present, but the PO thought it was a clever idea to break off all the drawer retention tabs.

This makes 7 Lista and Vidmar cabinets of different styles that I've scrounged since joining this site. These are amazing storage units, and I guess that there relatively plentiful around here, though the prices are all over the map. I now can store absolutely everything in one cabinet or another. I've really been drawn to the "uncluttered" layout that seems so popular here, and can see a way now to achieve it.

This site is an inspiration.

Cheers!
