back in 07 i built a cheap little garage
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8335
to hold me over until we built the new place. i framed the garage last fall and it sat basically as a place top store building materials while we built the new house, well, the house is just about done, or as much done as it is going to get this year, so "head office" gave me the go ahead to finnish the garage. she wants her 64 coupe deville done for this coming summer, i'll do what i can:D
here is a parting shot of the old place, pretty crammed, i won't miss it

we scrubbed the land and filled with gravel

before the slab was poured my junk started to arrive
hslstx.jpg

formed in the slab , my kid tied in the pex, he did a great job, the thicker part of the slab is for the 2 post hoist

that knot in the centre of the the picture looked like a trout, so we went fishing

Did I see that Merc at Autofest?

Nice looking shop/house and lot. I am more jealous of all that space you have outside!

Damn!! Nicely done!!
Don't know how I missed this thread when you first posted it, but that's a spectacular house and garage! I'll be watching to see how it looks finished.

Very cool. I know I have seen that Merc around somewhere, kinda hard to miss!

Did you go to a little "car show" at a farm just north of Whitby in Oct time frame?

Nope that wasn't it either, I just checked the pics...lol

This is going to drive me nuts....

so today i painted everything, i even went out there again this evening and put in all the plugs and switches.
tomorrow i will hang all the doors and possibly make and install the baseboard and casings.
i had every intention of doing a two tone grey and charcoal paint job with an accenting harley orange and black stripe around the middle, but after painting what was going to be the top grey, i decided to stop right there. looks nice and clean, yet warm.

i needed my car trailer back from acting as a storage unit, so i had to empty it of some garage stuff. since i had to unlaod them and put them in the garage i might as well assemble and install them.
i got a lift, sandblast cabinet and 40 gal parts washer from greg smith equipment. this cabinet is awesome, i can hardly wait to clean some rust up:rocker:
the lift is a little scratched up from them shipping it to me, i'm going to drop my saleman an email, perfhaps he can help me with it. i've been happy with them so far, good service and fast delivery

today i completed my atlas 9kbp lift installation, the thing works like a charm.
i had read some adjustment trouble posts on here, but mine only needed a minor adjustment to get both sides in sync.
i'm happy with it:thumbup:

i decided to modify my new sandblasting cabinet, the vacuum was mounted on the back of the unit, which made it over 4 feet deep, floor space is at a premium, so i'd rather lose a little more space side to side than cutting into my walking/working area. so i moved it to the side, they sould really consider making it this way or have the holes already drilled into it giving the buyer this option. its now only about 3 feet deep, a lot better!!

The shop, the house, the location ... all very nice.

The Merc and Caddy are nice too.

But what really caught my eye are the COE's. I daydream about buiding one one a modern 1-ton chassis with diesel power. Never going to do it, but I still dream about it...

Well done on all of it - subscribed!

i bought those coes at an estate auction last year, the guy had hundreds of vehicles, mostly old trucks. i got them for $200 each. one of them i will be building into a faux tow truck for a buddy who has a towing company, the other will be, as you said, a hauler for my deuce.

Lovely area, house, and garage.

What's all that white stuff on the roof in a few of the pics?

You should be able to buff quite a bit of the scratch on the lift out. Your Merc and Caddy indicate you have the skills to take care of it!

Followed a link to this post. Great garage and house. Are you north, west or east of Thunder Bay? In one of the first pictures you have a yellow 34 grille on the wall; from on old car of yours?

first project completed after finishing garage...
i built my girlfriend this 64 caddy, the hoist was absolutely ******* awesome to use!!!
i can't believe i went all these years without one:3gears:
i still have to put the siding on the outside and do a little fine tuning inside, hook up the internet, shoot the tops off of some trees to get my dish working, etc. but it was complete enough to test run building something in it:)
i'm going to roll another project in next week, once i decide which one to do
