The snap-on toolbox truck just left

Last week I asked the SO guy about toolbox prices. Today he shows up in the truck that sells only tool boxes.

Sounds like a conspiracy to me.

Him and the other guy were really pushing the EPIC series of boxes. I don't need this much of a box and it's way out of my price range. That box is geared towards guys that do lots of electronic trouble shooting, I don't do any and I don't plan on doing any.......Ever!

Then they started with the hard sell which pissed me off. Saying that I'll be sorry if I don't buy one today etc.

Plus their prices are the same as in the catalog. I guess they prey on the guys that have no self control or have $10K burning a hole in their pants.

Don't get me wrong. I like SO tools and would love to have a nice box but not at those prices.

I got 20% off of an epic box from my dealer. He had some master series for even higher discount.

I was under no pressure to buy for any type of box, I simply inquired about some of the boxes I was thinking about then I was given prices.
Then I was told by my guy that he would honor the prices quoted until the end of this year.

I did and then they offered me financing with 19% interest. No thanks!

I've worked with a few of each of those...

It pretty much all depends on how pushy your truck guy is. Just can't fall for the peer pressure

I place hard sell salesmen in the same catagory as time share /vaction sales.

Granted, a snapon dealer has to make a living, but my gut tells me those boxes are marked up at least 100%. Even at 20% off, they are probably still making a killing.

That being said, I'd like to have a royal blue one.

I have an ingrained, deep seated dislike for pushy bastards. They get pushy and even if I have the money I'll spend it somewhere else.

I just figure that if I buy off them its just encouraging them so I won't do it.
