Hi there, thanks for checking out my garage gallery. I will be updating this as each step of the process is done, hope you enjoy it!

My wife and I just finished escrow on a new home which has a 21' x 47' x 11' garage, a rarity in Southern California. The garage has a main room which is about 21' x 39' and a back workshop area with the remaining 8' on the end. My wife and I both love cars and wood working/metal working, so the garage will be transformed into a major auto shop and the back workshop will contain all of the other tools we have. The garage has its own subpanel with a 220v service and there is plenty of 110v all around.

The sellers of the house are renting it back right now, so I don't have any good pictures of the garage. For now I have been putting together the layout in Sketchup to make sure everything will fit:

The workshop will contain the drill press, table saw, belt sander, etc and on the far small wall will have a sewing machine and storage for any smaller craft projects. My uncle also has a full set of original 1800's tools for repairing pocket watches and creating new parts from scratch. No one in his family is interested in carrying on his work so we might end up with that stuff as well.

The plan for the garage is to have a 4 post lift in the back corner with a scissor lift in front of it. To the left of the scissor lift will be room for a parked car and to the left of the 4 post lift will be a computer work station and tool storage.

Right now my wife and I have two cars we are working on. I have a 1989 Toyota MR2 SC that I am building for track and autocross. It is also being wired up with a Race Capture Pro data logging system because I will be using the car to collect data for my Masters Thesis.

My wife is currently restoring a Studebaker Avanti that has been in her family since it was purchased new. It needs a large amount of interior work done for the most part. No picture of that car right now.

Lastly, we are both part time drivers for a 24 Hours of LeMons team. The car we drive is a '79 Ford Futura.

Once I finish my degree we would like to try and start a LeMons/ChumpCar team of our own, with something like a late 60's Volvo 122 or a Datsun 1200.

Once we move in to the house at the end of the month, my first priority will be figuring out what options will be best for the walls, floor, and storage. Right now everything is bare, so there is an empty canvas to make the garage look amazing as well as practical. I've been getting a lot of great ideas looking through the other galleries here and I hope mine will stack up with the others as it is completed!
