The tool we all hate to use. I need a new wallet.

Let's face it, that stack of leather and plastic in your back pocket is a tool. We use it to carry, protect, and organize our business and legal dealings. Sadly it tends to get used far more often than most of us would like.

My current let isn't long for this world, so I am starting to look for a new one, after spending a lot of time out in the heat this summer, I also noticed that my pocket notebooks aren't holding up very well either. So I am looking to combine the two items into one solid tool. I need a notebook and I need money, otherwise my projects will never get finished.

I bought a Bellroy wallet that can hold a passport and all boarding passes etc. Also has a small pen. Larger than normal and took some getting used to but it's all good now.

That's what I did when I was younger, but between my CCW and my ID/RFID key I have to keep the damn thing on me anytime in not at home.

I am a fan of buffalo billfold company but not sure they have the selection you are looking for. The buffalo leather is hard to beat for softness and very long wearing.

I've been using a hippo DM Bullard wallet and love it. I use DM Bullard for my gun holsters, and decided to try a wallet as my wife was tired of seeing my use a rubber band.

I like this one. Carried one similar for 20 years until my SIL noticed how rag tag it looked and bought me a nice leather job. I wish I had the old one back but I can't offend too soon. The cool thing about a fabric wallet is that you can toss it in the wash. Wish I could do that with my phone, it's nasty.

I personally use a Trayvax Element but don't use a pocket notebook. A small notebook could however be fashioned in there using the money clip to hold one side of the notebook and the leather strap to keep it closed and tight to the wallet.

Rfid proof is kind of a killer though because of work.

I haven't had a wallet for over 20 years now. I have a money clip that I have my driver's licence, insurance card, debit card, and $20 in cash. Pretty much all I need daily and it's a lot thinner than a wallet.

I use my cell phone for most of that and I have a folio with my tablet and an 8 1/2 x 11 pad of paper in it that's never further away than my truck if the cell isn't adequate.

What's a wallet? If it not comfortable to wear and carry everyday without getting it the way, it won't get used.. it becomes more of a hindrance then a benefit. I have a cheap credit card holder that's just to pieces of composite plastic with a silicon band around it. Cards get sandwiched in between, money is folded and kept under the band on the outside of the plastic protector. It's small and thin, goes in my front pocket and can barely feel it. It's one step above just a rubber band.
I couldnt imagine a need to walk around with a notebook and pen in my back pocket everyday.

The wallet is a little bulky but super tough, I'm on year 5. The pens are supplied by my company, so they have the right combination of performance, low price, and availability. I usually get the special edition Field Notes that have heavier weight covers, but the standard ones are fine. I fill one every ~6 weeks.

+1 for the Rogue front pocket wallet! I'm on my second, with the first leather one lasting 10 years. Nice family run company, and the owner actually sent me a handwritten note thanking me for the business. Great if you like a front pocket wallet, though it does not have the notepad the OP was looking for.

Big fan of stingray skin on wallets and these are some of the best I've found. The interior is bull hide or calf skin and will wear out eventually but the stingray outer is nearly invincible.

I buy my wallets at a local craft show from a leather worker. I like them because they have a lot of card slots and a divider in the bill area for large and small denominations of bills.

I use cheap eBay hardshell cases for my wallet and for business cards. They're cheap, they work, they fit well in a pocket, and they lock so stuff won't fall out. I engrave them for a personal touch...
