Are they at least worth $2.50 ??
.
Can I put them in the truck to use as "road tools" ?
.
Or should I have just saved my mony?

By the way, the other deal was a CRAFTSMAN 1/4" swivel extension .
Marked $8.99....REDUCED to $4.00.. for no reason.

for 2.50, they are excellent loaner/roadbox tools. And since it's clearance, your definitely not increasing the demand for junk tools, they were looking to unload them.

That's what I was thinking when I saw them. Can't feel bad if they get lost.
But hey, what about the Craftsman bargain? Those swivels come in handy and at that price, an extra isn't a bad thing, right?.

Not bad at all. Sure they aren't quality, but for that price who cares? I keep tools like that thrown in a bottom drawer of one box. When your regular socket is too thick to fit somewhere that some dumb engineer put a bolt, grab one of those sockets and sand it down. If you need a sensor socket, and it's midnight and all places are closed, cut a notch for the wires out of the side of one of the sockets. If thats not strong enough, wrap it with steel and weld it up. If you need a really long socket, cut it in half, weld a piece of tube between the halves, and you have a socket as long as you need.

We always had a pile of cheap sockets/wrenches on the farm, because you could often spend 20 minutes butchering a $.10 tool, and save 4 hours of work. I still do it as an A+P mechanic. I keep a set of HF wrenches in my box just for butchering. Last week I needed to get on a 7/8" nut. It was in the middle of a cable housing, so no socket. There wasn't enough room for the length of a ratchet and the thickness of the head to use a crowfoot. There wasn't enough throw on a 6 pt flare nut wrench. I ended up taking a 7/8" HF wrench (paid $6 for the entire set 1/4 - 1"), cutting the box end down to 5", slitting the box end so it would go around the cable, and grinding the handle, so it was only half as wide.

10 minutes of butchering a wrench saved me about 6 hours of work from pulling the equipment I would have had to to get better access.:dunno:

Exactly. I too buy cheap-*** tools for just this purpose. If I need to weld/bend/grind a tool, I'd rather it didn't say 'Snap-on' on it.

Lordy, Lordy, dont you dare scratch those SO tools!

I.too, have some weird looking, fabricated specials made from "cheap-***" tools.
It doesnt hurt so bad when you twisty 'em up or weld-goober all over 'em when you have a whole $2.50 invested in the set. I look for these cheapies at the flea market too. Never know what you might run across.
Trouble is.....I dont know when to stop buying!
