Lets start with my trusty hammer, named Thor's Hammer, it comes with dings, and dents, wear and tear from all the usage of using in and out of the garage for different things. The collection of old and new wrenches- ranging in size, these should fit well into any opening you are unable to get your hands into, each sound of the bearing, its unique quirks and personalities. The adjustable ones are the drama queens of the bunch, they can throw tantrums and slip just when you need them to be reliable. There are also the dirty ones, O The sockets and socket Wrench Some range also in different sizes and many like others before will lose that one special standard size Socket The Myth The Legend The one and only 10MM socket, either it be short or tall, 1/4, 5/8, half they all some how magically disappear.
Speaking of Sockets, every one has the nice shining socket wrench set, looks like its never seen oil or hit the floor. Do you guys have tools just to look like you know what you are doing when it comes to building or maintaining your hot rod ? Some sockets wont take off certain bolts as if the socket and wrench don't want to do the job, you struggle inside and out throw it around until it finally says i give up i will take the bolt off for you.

The other Tool that nothing beats the rhythm of is a power drill, though you have not lived until you've felt the incense rush of suddenly creating a hole in something that was one solid. Its like having the gift of magic one moment its a sturdy piece of metal or wood, and the nest your bestowed upon it the profound status of fresh cold beer. The little marvel that I'm sure many have laughed at and said that's not a drill, This is a Drill can come forth and admit they have had this happen to them in the words of Crocodile Dundy . Lets not forget the most prized possession in our Garages. The old rusty tool box, that was probably passed down from generations, from your old grandfather perhaps your dad, uncles or even just friends. My tool box was given to me by my grandfather, you open it and immediately tell the family history and the scent of linseed oil, Or maybe I've just never cleaned it lol. Each dent, each scratch the layer of grime all tells a story of triumphs, failures.

Who knew a rusty old tool box could hold so many life lessons within its creaky hinges?
In essence, these tools teach me more then just how to build a car, or fix anything around the house. They provide a glimpse in the creativity, collaboration, and the joy of tinkering every fail project, every successful turn of removing a bolt with out breaking, With you losing that 10mm, Every laugh shared with family or friends. Its the joy of wrestling with stubborn screws, bolts, hinges, doors, lawn care equipment, the list is endless. Its the reminder of with these own two hands, I built this. In my Garage, every hammer swing, every socket lost to the abyss brings happiness all wrapped up in the glorious embrace of grease and gasoline, Because in out world of Hot Rodding, OR working around the house The Happiness is Ours.

Part of being a carpenter is learning just how to hit a finger or thumb to cause the least pain and damage. Flat on rather than from the side is the trick.
Gee wiz, and all this time I thought you hit the finger dead square in the center, live and learn.....I wonder if I will get to use your wisdom. :)

"I've had that happen to where I've had to squeeze the blood out of finger nails"

Think it is a little less painful if the nail detaches. 😭

Every swing is a joy... A frustrating, expletive filled joy 🤣 My hammers mostly do duty for freeing up ball joints and tie rod ends. Occasionally un-sticking drums and rotors, bearing hubs.
I've straight missed my fingers with my deadblow... And whacked the meaty part of my hand by my thumb. That's also very unpleasant 🤣

Atlas Copco made 5/8 drive sockets to go with their new idea for a 5/8 rattle gun...........never took off ,probably due to cost .....and back in the day people bought tools cause they needed them .

I’ve been digging through my grandfather’s stuff over time and found quite a few that will end up getting used again. When checking fence a few months ago we found my great grandfathers true temper rocket hammer that I probably left in that exact spot over 30 years ago while playing with it out in a field as a kid. I always got flack from my dad for losing that hammer. It’s in horrible shape now.

it can be less painful but the nail doesn't always detach
