Got the French door in. Here is a couple of looks that give the lay of the land in the backyard compared with the house.

Well its been too long but here are some updates. Discovered the front overhang was bigger than the other three sides. I had to figure out how to mount the so to do something different. I mounted a 2x4 to the siding to bridge the gap. Got the soffit mounted and trimmed

In the pic you can see, on three sides I just used a 2x ripped square but that wouldn't work on the front. I also got the corner trim on

So now its time o fix my mistakes. You can see in the first pic the concrete on either side of the door. On three sides the slab is a 2x4 width, on the front its double that. So three sides the siding comes down over the slab no problem. On the front I need to put something to keep the water out.

So one piece of trim, then some flashing, then another piece of trim. Turned out well I think.

Taking a break from the shop to get ready for spring. Picked up some scraps from CL and put these together.

And the finished pics. Its just stupid the drive wasn't poured this width when it was built. I priced a new drive but it pushed 10k with some culvert work. Plus the drive is in good shape

Not sure how many fishermen we have on here but post #54 were fish attractors I made to sink in my favorite lake. Was a busy weekend in Tulsa with the Bassmaster Classic in town. This pic is the other thing project I have been busy with, tying jigs, the spawn will be here very soon

Long overdue updates to my little transformation. Wanted some barn tin on the inside. I kept missing deals on good used stuff with patina and finally broke down and bought new

Next up, I finally got my roof guy over to put some roof vents in to let some heat out. Still don't have a ceiling yet. To get airflow even when I wasn't out there I put this together and it just stays there most all the time. This and the roof vents made a huge difference in the temps inside the shop

Been looking to add some character to the inside of the shop and I got some old stuff that I'd like to display. Well mother nature did me a favor in July. Storm came thru and blew dads fence over so I put that stuff to good use.

Started to throw some paint up. Bought new paint for a rental to use inside, so I made use of all the old. Took 6 or 8 partial gallons of old colors and mixed it up and had it shaken at the store. I'd call it a off white/eggplant. Best of all, free and the chipboard walls got 3 coats. The 4x4s are brick red with 1x2 cedar trim

Really a great job!

I do have a question about the tractor....did you have for something else then moved onto 1/2 acre? Seems it may be a bit overkill for suburban lot maintenance...

This is a neat little place. If you want to knock the shine off that galvanized, spray some muriatic acid on it and wipe it down after a few minutes. Keep the place really well ventilated and a respirator mask would be great. I usually do my stuff outside but with the amount you have it shouldn't be too bad.

Yeah the tractor, kinda long story and I won't share all the details here but it was a steal. Its a 2010 and I bought it in Dec of 14 with like 24 hrs on it. I knew I could use it around the house for a few years put some hrs on it and sell it for what I paid for it. Besides, having a tractor is just plain fun! BTW it only has 86 hrs on it now

Makes perfect sense to me. I've tried, unsuccessfully, to talk myself into a Kubota BX over the years.

But now that I can point to an example....humm....

Found a pic from when we first got the place. See the trees in the background, it's hard to tell but there is lots of limbs laying on the roof. These trees were on the opposite side of the fence and growing into and thru the fence. First thing I did was just trim them straight up, with nothing hanging over the fence or rubbing the roof. The property behind me is 4 acres with a small restaurant. The trees had grown unchecked or trimmed for years. I say all that to say that was the excuse for the tractor (to the wife anyway). I needed it to get rid of trees and repair the fence
