Fantastic garage space you have, thanks for documenting so well.

I read the two blogs on the Talon Turbo project, great work, looking forward to the next write up.

Looks like the wastegate does an atmospheric dump. I was wondering how that sounds, compared to dumping into exhaust pipe. Does a turbo system sound better with an atmospheric dump ?

Thanks for visiting my website and for the support SpeedyGee! Yes, the wastegate does dump to the atmosphere. Typically this results in better spool and more power. I think it sounds awesome this way, only if dumped at or very near the collector though. A dump off of one runner sounds like an exhaust leak to me. Here's a video example of what my Miata sounds like with the external dump at full wail. For some reason my Talon's dump is much quieter.

Thanks again!

Thanks zjustin28! Looks like you've got a cool collection going too! I do like the 1gbs, but you know you secretly want some pop-ups. :eyecrazy:

Good luck with your car and build, please post up in here how it turns out!

Haha, yea, my first car( 4 years ago) was a 91 laser rs. Purple, ***** red interior, probably a 8/10 car, all stock, totalled to vandalism :( still miss that thing.

Similar accidental discovery of GJ and inspiration from it's talented members. I now have to add you to that inspiration list. Nice build; I'll be copying a few details. Well done.

Hello All!

I thought I'd share some more monkeying around in my new garage. The video includes finishing up the to-dos on my turbo Talon and then my impressions after taking it for a spin.

Thank you sir! Adding a turbo to the Miata made it 100% more fun to drive! I have all of the build details for that car on my website: http://miata.turbomirage.com.

What wheels is the Miata wearing in its pictures in this thread?

Fantastic garage (one of my favorites) and the new videos are fun too!

I love Mits Turbos....here's mine with a blown transmission. Trying to decide if to sell or fix. has the 5 speed with fuel pump, piggyback electrics, upgraded turbo etc.

Love the top down tire melting.

I'm just going to throw this out there - turn it into a GSX convertible! I'm amazed at how many folks have done this and it seems like a fun project too.

That looks like a very clean Conquest! I still really love those cars.

Thanks 89 TSI SHP with 72,000.

2nd owner. Back seats have been sat in 2 times in its life. See the garage more than the road. Been replacing the turbo for 2 years :)

Kids seem to take all my time now.

That lift looks awesome. I went to an auction not too long ago and in the description they had a lift and showed a small picture. I thought how cool it would be to put a lift in my garage! Then I got there and saw it was about 4x the size of my garage haha.

Great build:)

Thanks Red! Yes, they are freaking mammoths. It was a little unnerving when we hoisted the first posts upright! :eyecrazy:
