With all the discussions around here about garage lifts, I thought you'd like to see this one:

This is part of the new car inventory at one of the local BMW dealers.

How do you get the top car off? Does the top platform lower down onto the middle one?

The local MB dealer (ASC) does the same thing with their outside storage of cars. Pretty wild looking for sure.

Any chance you could send me the name and city of that dealer? I have customer's that would be EXTREMELY interested in a system like that......

That picture is from Sears Imports in Minneapolis. http://www.searsimports.com/. I snagged the picture from the website of the local chapter of the BMW club - they had a meeting there a while back.

Thank you sir! I may very well have to take a trip to Minnesota and check that thing out! We are dealing with a company out of New York for a similar product, but it's always good to know what else is available.....

A friend of mine is one of the service writers at Sears, I can ask him to take a look at that hoist and see if there's a brand name on it.

I actually rented a place in Germany where I had a "2 car" garage, very similar to this (model SC-2), where one car was under the other. Very cool system if you don't need the lower car daily. I would love to have one in my current garage, where I have only a 7 foot ceiling and no room for a storage lift, nor any easy options to expand/build. It would be expensive to do this as a retrofit, but would fit my needs quite nicely.

If you wouldn't mind....It would certainly save me a trip. I was discussing this with my supplier of parking lifts yesterday (he also supplies automated parking systems..) and he was also very curious whose it was...

I'm almost glad they don't have any sort of pricing on the website, I'd probably have a heart attack. Very cool stuff though..first thing that comes to mind with the underground units was James Bond meets the Bat Cave... :rocker:
