They are bolted down, but the company has developed a quick disconnect system that allows the bolts to be installed/removed quickly

As long as your Suburban does not weigh over 7,000 pounds and you have 4" of concrete, should not be a problem.

I would guess the curb weight of your truck with fuel to be 6300 pounds?

Well, I guess I better put this on my list to Santa. I think we'd all like to get some more info, but from what I've seen and read so far, this is what will provide the best flexibility for my small 670sf garage.

Are you currently delivering these units, or is this just a pre-announcement?

In an hour or so we will be adding a ..."Get on the waiting list" thingy on the home page.

That was what I was wondering about as well. All three of the testimonials in the brochure made it sound as if this thing was already on the market.

Maybe it was a test group -- companies often do this to get feedback before a major release.

Yea, we tossed a handful around to see if it was really as cool as we thought it would be.

Others were interested parties who were forwarded the info on a hush-hush basis.

One of the guys used to be my ex drill-seargent who ended up being a close friend. He's a Porshe 914 nut.

Took a while to release to the public because we wanted to get the patent and trademark stuff finalized.

We'll be posting some videos on the site soon.

This lift is quite simple so little chance for bugs.

I'll give you a call after Vegas then we can work on your special jack platform. Buried for the next couple of weeks.

Are there any plans to make a larger version of this unit? I like the idea, and I am wondering about the power plant for the unit. I did read the website literature, and didn't see any specifications as to if it is battery powered, 110 volt, etc. I might have missed it in my excitement to get one for the empty bay of my garage. It doesn't hurt to buy an American-made product but let's be realistic here, who spends 100% of their money on products made only in the USA? It's not as though Bend-pak is the only company in this country outsourcing to not only save themselves money, but to pass on the savings to it's customers.

When I get this lift installed in my garage you know what it's going to be lifting? my TOYOTA, MITSUBISHI, and SUBARU. If I get the motorcycle attachment, it will also lift my HONDA and SUZUKI.....Oh now I just feel so dirty and un-American.

You need to do more research on the website before you decide. Seems that there are only two people on the website that are unhappy with Bend Pak, and only one of them is an actual Bend Pak owner. The other is a supporter of Greg Smith Equipment. What his agenda with his constant Bend Pak bashing is anyones guess. Both Bend Pak and Greg Smith are reputable companies, and both will serve your needs well. Just don't discount Bend Pak just because of one disgruntled customer, and one who has a hidden agenda / vendetta against Bend Pak. There are lot of happy satisfied Bend Pak customers on this website. Bend Pak is a manufacturer with manufacturing facilities in both the US and China. Greg Smith is a importer of Chinese made lifts, that are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dover Corporation (Rotary), a US manufacturer of commercial lifts.

Well said Junk I Have had a few recent dealings with crappy service recently and just ranting I guess. This lift could replace my midrise lift which is always in the way.

If there has ever been a company that goes beyond normal service to satisfy a customer, it has to be Bend Pak. Based on the experience of the people on this website, they have sent replacement parts to every customer that has ever experienced a problem with a lift, whether it be actual or perceived. I have not heard one other complaint on this website about Bend Pak where they didn't go above and beyond reasonable in attempting to satisfy the customer, no matter what the complaint, or the expense involved. If you have a personal vendetta against BendPak for not flying a "Made in China" flag (the rest of us know where they are made) why not start your own website? At LEAST, start your own thread. Most (all?) US companies producing their product in China choose not to make it a cornerstone of their marketing campaign - or haven't you noticed?

Anyways, back to the subject at hand:

Jeff (if you're still reading this thread... and I wouldn't blame you for not)..Looks like a product that would definitley have a large audience. One question though - why not make it full height? Looks like it could do everything the same (store, move, etc), it's just that you could stand under it. I'm sure there's a reason, just wanted to know.

Hydraulic equalization (less mechanical) is difficult, and for full-rise lifts not wise unless designed with potentiometers or other proximity devises for equalization. But then the cost would not warrant the direction.

This lift because it only travels 43" never really gets a chance to get out of level. To help the hydraulic equalization, it uses oversize cylinders for the capacity so the working pressure is low which minimizes the workload on the flow divider. It works great.

Holy Sh1t - I just read this entire scenario too...It's becoming a wonder to me why you (Jeff) do "that" much for someone so obviously intent on being an unhappy customer? I've been in business myself for 25 years and have learned that, at some point, you have to cut your losses. If jcs couldn't - at the VERY least - be cordial, then why spend so much time and money on him? If I where dealing with these guys, I'd put jcs and jimval in the same boat - and then sink it!

Wouldn't you rather do buisness with sane consumers, or those that aren't trying to get everything for nothing? I would.

Of course, you run your business as you see fit. Your history speaks for itself and there are MANY here that know the positives FAR outweigh any negatives regarding BendPak and yourself. We CAN read between the lines. It's just annoying to have to read anything from 'some' people!

Thanks for the reply - I could see using one of these in my front attached garage - it doesn't have the height for a tall lift anyway and it would be much preferable to moving all my cars to get one of our drivers on a lift.

As for the weather - I put all my summer cruisers away 2 weekends ago and it's been nice ever since!! (If you call 6C/44F nice...but at least it's sunny and not snowing!)

Jeff I was wondering if you ship these to a distributor in Canada or are they shipped directly from the States? I'm guessing there is probably going to be a bit of a waiting list on these, as from what I've been reading on this website alone there is great interest in the lifts. Any chance you could keep us updated on stock and back orders?

Yoke - In case Jeff is gone for the night, they ship BendPak suff through Babco in Vancouver. I don't know if they will also have this contract, bet they would, but ya never know. That's where my BP came from.

I didnt see anyone answer your question about the power, but I found on the website it says either a 15amp 110, or a 25amp 208-230.

JSK, is there any estimate of when these will be available? and pricing for all of the options? I was leaning towards a kwiklift, but now Im on the fence.

Two questions about the lift:

1.) How would one go about accounting for floors that are out of level with this lift? I know on the full size ones, a shimming technique is used, would the lift need to be shimmed when installed? I noted that it was mentioned above that the lift does not go high enough for it to get out of sync in terms of the hydraulics, but I'm scratching my head about having the whole assembly out of true due to the positioning on a floor.

2.) As other BendPak lifts are certified, will this one be also? Or is there even a category to certify it in?

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but if you're like myself and have a small garage, then this pretty much "fits the bill", and is the best option with regard to function and portability.

I've gone back and forth for almost two years researching different models and options from all the reputable manufacturers. From scissor lifts to 4-posts, I looked at all the products and have a box full of brochures, and a hard drive full of information. I've lost count how many times I've measured my garage in order to find an optimal solution.

From what I've gathered from this board and from talking with other owners, PendPak is top-notch as far as service and QC is concerned, so I have absolutely no problem with the fact that some (or all) parts were manufactured in China.

I've been sitting on this fence far too long. The price is right, the company is reputable, the product fits my unique needs -- what's not to like. So I'm very grateful to "JSK" for posting the info.

That's a good idea.

Full production in about two months.

I'll make an initial offer of 20 units max at special GJ pricing for GJ members which will be finalized soon.

Wish I could offer more but the margins on this lift will be low - but hopefully volume will make up for that.

I think it's necessary to stay in the price range slightly above a mid-rise, but less than a full-rise two-post.

And as those "comparable" models in today's market are simply a commodity, there leaves little room for profit.

I will be sure to post another thread regarding this offer at the roll out.
