Many AC units will accept anything from 208V-250V !

That depends on what is wired to that panel and how much wattage it draws.

I just sit back and watch for the "correction" when someone mentions 110v / 220v.

The reality "here" is that the POC allows +/-7%... So 110v/220v might be "more accurate" in some cases.
